Cyanide Studios has released some new screenshots from Styx: Shards of Darkness. Cyanide Studio’s Call of Cthulhu, an upcoming adaptation of Chaosium’s pen-and-paper role-playing game, just received a new trailer. Created for E3, the video highlights what is in store for players in a macabre 1920’s Boston. As private investigator Edward Pierce, players will look into the murder of Sarah Hawkins on Darkwater Island. Cthulhu’s influence will gradually grow stronger as Pierce pokes his nose around the island and the Hawkins Family Mansion, and the closer he finds himself to the Great Old One’s influence, the more his sanity will be tested.
Styx is showing the goods from his upcoming title Shards of Darkness in a new E3 trailer. The sequel to Master of Shadows finds Styx taking on a new assignment for Helledryn, an enigmatic human officer stationed in Thoben, the City of Thieves. The target is the ambassador’s scepter, a prized object that others are looking to steal for themselves. If Styx can get his hands on it, he’ll get some of the magical amber that fuels his powers. The different races require different skills as each excels in their own areas, with Dark Elves being expert goblin hunters and Dwarves having an excellent sense of smell. To handle them, players will have access to numerous powers, talents, crafting, and equipment. And assassination, there’s always that.
