BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma Extend released for PS3, PS4, Xbox One

BlazBlue is back with Chrono Phantasma Extend for PS3, PS4, and Xbox One. A handheld version for PS Vita is slated for release on July 28. Extend features the 2.0 balance patch, an improved online lobby, and new characters, stages, and story modes. The 28-character roster can now utilize an updated Guard Gauge System, with its Barrier Gauge indicating when to attack or block and the Guard Crush to follow once the Barrier Gauge is empty. Newcomers can learn the ropes by engaging Stylish Mode, which now has four new features, Auto Guard, Combo Attacks, Special Abilities, and Distortion Drive. Online play has also been updated with a modified online lobby that allows players to invite others into a customizable room, where they can battle or enter Spectator mode to check out the current match.

Sierra rolling out King’s Quest: A Knight to Remember on July 28

The first episode of the upcoming King’s Quest revision, King’s Quest: A Knight to Remember, is set to launch on July 28 for PC, PS3, and PS4, and on July 29 for Xbox 360 and Xbox One. The first chapter is available for $9.99, while a $39.99 season pass titled King’s Quest: The Complete Collection that includes all five chapters, as well as an epilogue, is also on offer. The remaining chapters will be released throughout 2015 and 2016. A Knight to Remember takes King Graham back in time as he discusses his previous adventures with his granddaughter, Gwendolyn, as players live out his trials against new puzzles, characters, and encounters.

Hyperdimension Neptunia­ Re;Birth3: V Generation out for PS Vita

Hyperdimension Neptunia­ Re;Birth3: V Generation—whew!—is out today for PS Vita. The PS TV-compatible remake updates the PS3 version of Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory with more scenarios and an expanded story that adds a new character. In additional to all of the previously released downloadable content, this version also has free downloadable content in the form of the Japanese voice-over track and the first PS Vita theme. More themes are available for $0.99 each.

New Silence trailer released, closed beta registration opens for PC

Daedalic has released a new trailer for their upcoming adventure title Silence. The studio also announced that a closed beta is scheduled on July 8 for the PC version. Anyone interested can head here to fill out the sign-up form. Everyone selected will receive a credit in the game as well as a free copy of the final version.

J-Stars Victory VS+ in stores for PS3, PS4, on PSN for PS Vita

Bandai Namco has announced the release of J-Stars Victory VS+. The Spike Chunsoft-developed brawler features 32 characters from across the Shonen Jump and V-Jump lines, including Bleach, Dragon Ball Z, Fist of the North Star, and Naruto. A Story mode, featuring levels from a variety of the included properties, is joined by a two-versus-two Online Battle mode and, exclusive to this version, a team-versus-team Arcade mode.

Tracking down traitors in new Lost Dimension trailer

Atlus has released a new trailer highlighting the traitors in the player’s midst in Lost Dimension. During each game, players must discover who of the squad are traitors, or risk having to face them during the last battle. Choosing the wrong character not only leaves one more traitor to face but also one less ally to call upon during the final encounter. Players need to delve deep into their squadmates’ minds in order to find out if they’re loyal or ready to turn.

See Darksiders II Deathinitive’s updated visuals in before/after shots

A handful of comparison screenshots were released from the upcoming Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition. The header image is a ‘before’ and ‘after’ shot spliced together, while the full screens are below. A note from Gunfire Games’ design director, John Pearl, has also been included, detailing the various graphical upgrades.

Techland has a proposition: drink water, get free Dying Light DLC

Dying Light developer Techland posted a joke yesterday on Twitter promoting delicious, delicious water. Whoever posted a picture of themselves drinking water and promoted it with the hashtag DrinkRightDyingLight would receive a docket code for a free premium weapon. The studio is doubling down on the surprise promotion by creating new, free downloadable packs. The exact number of which is dependent on the number of people who post a picture of themselves drinking water on Twitter with the tag #DrinkForDLC. The first goal is a perk, given that there have been nearly 5,000 tweets already, which is a 50% XP boost to player agility for 24 hours, beginning this Sunday. Check below for the full breakdown. Fallout Shelter tops App Store charts, played 70 million times daily

Bethesda has announced that Fallout Shelter, the mobile strategy and management sim that tasks players with running a Vault, has hit two milestones: “the top downloaded game in 48 countries and the top downloaded app of any kind in 25 countries.” Released during E3, Fallout Shelter toppled Candy Crush as the third top-grossing app in the US within two days of launch, and it remains the most-downloaded free game on the App Store. And to top off the stats, the release also noted that the app has been played 70 million times daily since release.

Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance launching Oct. 6, screens released

Word has been sent from NIS HQ that Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance will be available on October 6. A Launch Day Edition will hit store shelves for pre-orders and first-run buyers. The set will include a 32-page art book, collector’s box, original soundtrack, and reversible cover. Over a dozen new translated screenshots were also released, give them a look below.
