It's no secret that it's a pain lugging around a console, games, and all the needed accessories. When going to a friend's, the guest always has to finagle with their gaming set up, and going to something more out of the ordinary requires more finesse as the proper setup is required to see to it that everyone is accommodated and that the goods are secured properly, but regardless, the result is the same - agitation.

There's nothing like moving a system to the side or picking up a chair, moving everything around, and getting that slight hint of annoyance that comes when you're trying to make everything perfect and your callous friends are clamming around and barking to hurry up. What, your friends aren't like that? Oh. Well, I guess your friends aren't bastards, Mr. Popular.

Renown for its size and weight, the Xbox is truly the 400 lb. gorilla of gaming. While the PS2 is no light weight and the size of the GameCube can make it easy to knock off a ledge, the overall mass of the Xbox makes travel with it less than comfortable. Luckily, the folks over at LASR Accessories have noticed how encumbering it can be to bring this brick of gaming goodness on the road.

Up for review, we have the color coordinated black and green Xbox Gamepak. With a solid design and all the compartments needed to bring the required accessories, this backpack is an essential for any gamer on the go.

Oh, you want more info, ok then. The two important features about the Xbox Gamepak is that it distributes the weight of the system and accessories evenly enough so that it isn't taxing on the gamer's back; it also features side and rear vents, along with an zippable bottom portion for the AV and power cables to run out of, along with a sturdy bottom, so that the system can be played within the Gamepak itself. Most people will end up putting their system on the floor, since the size of the system makes it difficult to make the appropriate amount of room without making everything messy, and those who put the system on carpet run the risk of harming their system. That's really the greatest thing about this Gamepak: aside from unzipping a few vents and connecting the cables, that's all that needs to be done.

Complete with a sturdy rubber handle at the top, and two side clamps to keep the backpack close together and everything secure inside, there's also rubber bottom corners to keep everything safe and sound. While the shoulder straps could've used a little more padding, they do a good job of keeping the weight of the pack from irritating the shoulders. The padded bottom not only makes it more comfortable on the back, but also helps to keep the system from overheating by keeping it a few inches off the surface. The system itself has a sized-to-fit compartment with a secured strap. Aside from the CD tray having a tight fit when ejected, there are no other complaints as the system fits snuggly and securely. There is also a netted pouch for controllers, along with more storage pouches on the inside top flap. With spots for 8 CDs, manuals, and memory cards, what needs to be stored inside should have a nice spot; curiously, the fabric behind the CD sleeves is a bit tough, but I didn't find any scratches, although I would have liked something more soft - just for the sake of my sanity, if nothing else.

The outside of the bag has the aforementioned vents and more storage pouches. There's also another storage layer that has a sizeable pouch, complete with a zippable netting outside. On the exterior of the first outside pouch is yet another zippable pouch. In all, this puppy can hold just about anything one would want to bring with their Xbox - aside from the Steel Battalion controller, that is.

My complaints are few - namely, a softer fabric inside the CD sleeves and a little more padding on the shoulder straps - but really, this is an amazing product. The material is that of a typical backpack, and it's slightly larger size means that it'll look normal, even when it's stacked to the brim. An interesting note: I had the console running for almost 2 hours without any vents open - I blame this on my horrible memory - and I was surprised to find that the bag wasn't nearly as hot as a carpet would've been; note: this is something I do not endorse as it can damage your system, after all, it's why the included the vents.

Overall: 9.5/10
If you travel frequently, or just want something incase you do, this is an essential product. It comes with a "1-Year Warranty against defects in materials and workmanship and a 30-day money back guarantee if you are not completely satisfied with your purchase" and is well worth your gaming bucks. Easy, quick, secure, crammed with compartments, and oh so stylish.
