Microsoft and Nordic Games have released the physical version of State of Decay: Year One Survival Edition for PC. The retail release is bundled with a handful of digital and physical extras, including two add-ons (Breakdown and Lifeline), a double-sided A3 poster, and a soundtrack CD packaged inside of a slip case. Note that the game is on a DVD but requires a Steam account for activation.

Updated Zombasite launches on site, Steam with over 600 changes

Soldak has released an updated demo of their dynamic open-world action role-playing game Zombasite. The trial, available through Steam and the studio’s official site, is playable for Linux, Mac, and Windows PC. The latest version weighs in at 250 MB and is significantly different than the previous release, with an estimated 600-plus changes. As the leader of a clan, players must guide their people through a resource-starved world ravaged by a zombie parasite by negotiating, trading, and fighting other clans and monsters.

Dead Rising 4 gameplay footage released from Comic-Con

More out of Comic-Con, and this time it’s some new gameplay from Dead Rising 4. After a brief series recap, members of the development team offer a quick overview with footage featuring plenty of selfies, weird weapons, and combo attacks. The footage was revealed alongside a hands-on demo for PC and Xbox One and a panel featuring several members of the team. No word if the panel will be posted.

Red Dead Redemption, Undead Nightmare compatible with Xbox One

Red Dead Redemption is now backwards compatible for Xbox One. Rockstar’s ambitious, highly praised Western features reformed outlaw John Marston on a quest for revenge as he hunts down members of his old gang. The undead are also joining the party, as the entire line of titles is backwards compatible, not just the original: Red Dead Redemption, Undead Nightmare, and Red Dead Redemption: Game of the Year Edition. Digital owners can download the titles from the Games Store, while physical owners will need to insert the game disc into their system in order to initiate the download.

Deadlight: Director’s Cut now available online for console, PC

The 2012 side-scrolling survival-horror title Deadlight returns today in Deadlight: Director’s Cut for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The revamped version includes updated graphics, improved controls, and a new mode, Survival Arena Mode. The arena pits players against hordes of enemies and hosts strange weapons as well as interactive defenses. Both console versions also feature a new ending for those who are able to complete the game’s Nightmare Mode. As Randall Wayne, players find themselves in an alternate 1986 where they must solve puzzles, sneak around, and battle zombies throughout the ruins of Seattle as they search for their family.

Dead Island Definitive Collection released for console, PC

Dead Island Definitive Collection has hit store shelves and digital outlets. The enhanced re-release bundles together Dead Island Definitive Edition, Dead Island: Riptide Definitive Edition, and the new Dead Island Retro Revenge. The older titles sport graphical improvements that utilize Techland’s new engine, upgrading them with enhanced texture quality, photorealistic lighting system, more realistic physically based shading, HBAO and motion blur effects, and updated models. The interface has undergone a change as well to be uniform across both titles. As a bonus, an unofficial PC mod was also added to both, Power Fists Power-up (One Punch Mode). On the opposite end of the spectrum, Dead Island Retro Revenge is a retro-style side-scrolling beat ‘em up.

H1Z1: King of the Kill gets new Ignition competitive mode

A new competitive mode has launched for H1Z1: King of the Kill, Ignition. Similar to Battle Royale, the new addition pits 150 players in an all-out battle where each gets an ATV and a pack of explosives. The human missiles must scavenge for kit and weapons before making it to one of several safe zones before a countdown hits zero. Players who fail to reach a sanctuary, or leave a safe zone before the timer resets, will explode. As the match progresses, players will have access to fewer zones.

New trailer gives first look at Dead Island Retro Revenge gameplay

Deep Silver has released the first video of Dead Island Retro Revenge. The 16-bit-style beat ‘em up is a free pack-in with Dead Island Definitive Collection. The video is narrated by Max, the Jack Black-sounding protagonist who is on a quest to find his cat through the zombie-filled streets of California. He’s not only up against the undead but also corrupt soldiers and rowdy inmates. In addition to a variety of weapons, he’ll also have access to power-ups, super attacks, and combos.

Dead Island Definitive Collection gets gory in new trailer

A new, bloody trailer has gone live for Dead Island Definitive Collection. The sampling of carnage is taken from the definitive editions of Dead Island and Dead Island: Riptide, which will be included in the collection. The PS4 and Xbox One retail releases will also come with the new mini-game Dead Island Retro Revenge.
