Symbiotes invade Zen Studios, announce Venom Pinball

Venom will be swinging out of the pages of Spider-Man and into his own game, courtesy of Zen Studios. The developer has announced that a new Venom-themed pinball table will go live on December 8 for its various platforms, including Marvel Pinball, Pinball FX2, and Zen Pinball 2. The table will feature Venom battling both Spider-Man and fellow Symbiote-powered villain Carnage. A handful mini-game will also play out Spider-Man’s time with the Symbiote as well as Carnage’s origins.

Zen Studios reveals two new South Park pinball titles, out this week

Zen Studios and South Park Digital Studios have teamed up for two new titles: South Park: Super-Sweet Pinball and South Park: Butters’ Very Own Pinball Game. Both games are actually slated to launch this week and will be available for console, mobile, and PC. Super-Sweet Pinball will feature most of the cast playing out events from the series, including hunting down ManBearPig and Cartman’s probe. Butters’ Very Own Pinball Game has him donning his costume as Professor Chaos, stealing the Future Telling Device, and saving Imaginationland.

Pinball FX2 pushed back to next month for free 360 table transfers

Pinball FX2 has been delayed slightly, but the extra time is for a good reason: free table transfers from the Xbox 360 version. Initially, previously purchased tables would be locked to the 360, but after community feedback, the studio followed up with Microsoft about the process and came up with a solution. As a result, the studio has decided to push the release date back until next month, which will allow them the time to work out the transition process so that players will be able to import their tables at launch.

Balance of the Force to add new tables to Star Wars Pinball Wii U

The Balance of the Force add-on for Star Wars Pinball will be launching on the Wii U eShop later this week. The three-table pack includes one based on Return of the Jedi with Luke, Han, and the rest of the gang on their mission to destroy the Death Star; another based on Darth Vader, during his hunt for Obi Wan, Luke, and others in the Jedi and Rebel Alliance; and the last a Starfighter Assault table, with players sending the X-Wings and TIE Fighters of the Alliance Fleet or Empire’s Aramada into battle.

Zen Pinball 2 launching for PS4 on Dec.17 with free, paid DLC tables

Zen Studios is expanding their pinball empire later this month with the release of Zen Pinball 2 for PS4. The upcoming version is scheduled to launch on December 17, and as before, the game will be a free download and serve as a platform for downloading tables as DLC. There will be 20 tables at launch, and each will be available individually or as part of eight different sets (Star Wars Pinball, Star Wars Pinball: Balance of the Force, Marvel Pinball, Marvel Pinball: Avengers Chronicles, Plants vs. Zombies Pinball, Epic Quest, Paranormal, and Earth Defense).

CastleStorm launches for PC, From Outcast to Savior DLC announced

Zen Studios’ tower defense-brawler hybrid CastleStorm is now available on Steam. Already available for 360, CastleStorm allows players to design and build their own castle using an in-game editor, and then manage its garrison to battle back invaders. A new DLC pack, From Outcast to Savior, was also announced and will be available for 360 and PC on July 31 for 240 MS Points/$2.99. The add-on will include the Royal Guard faction, new environments, new weapons, a new Hero, 20 new battles, and new levels for Skirmish and Survival.

Summon the vanguard! CastleStorm to launch July 29 on Steam

CastleStorm, a physics-based tower defense and brawler hybrid, will launch next month on Steam, according to developer Zen Studios. The game, set to go live for PC on July 29, will allow players to build their own castle using an in-game editor and then manage its garrison to stave off invading hordes. A video has been released to offer additional details about what players can expect from the castle editor.

CastleStorm to storm the walls of Live Arcade on May 29

Zen Studios has announced that their upcoming physics-based tower-defense title CastleStorm will launch on May 29 on Live Arcade. The Pinball FX2 developer stated that the inspiration behind the design, which also includes offensive ground-based attacks, was their childhood memories of building and destroying Lego castles. To that end, a built-in castle editor will allow players to test their strongholds off and online. In addition to a 12-level, story-drive campaign, the game will also feature online multiplayer and co-op play.

Zen Pinball 2 launches on eShop for Wii U

Zen Pinball 2 is now available to download from the eShop for Wii U. The free download includes trials for each of the launch tables, as well as the ability unlock the full versions of current and future tables. Pinballers will be able to play on the GamePad with direct play, challenge others locally via splitscreen or hotseat modes, and compete in various challenges for placement in a national ranking system as well as in global tournaments. Several tables are currently available, incuding three Marvel table packs, the three-table Classic pack, and a handful of singles, including Epic Quest and Plants vs. Zombies.
