Developer- and Publisher-specific Articles: Zen Pinball
Zen Studios and South Park Digital Studios have teamed up for two new titles: South Park: Super-Sweet Pinball and South Park: Butters’ Very Own Pinball Game. Both games are actually slated to launch this week and will be available for console, mobile, and PC. Super-Sweet Pinball will feature most of the cast playing out events from the series, including hunting down ManBearPig and Cartman’s probe. Butters’ Very Own Pinball Game has him donning his costume as Professor Chaos, stealing the Future Telling Device, and saving Imaginationland.
Zen Studios is expanding their pinball empire later this month with the release of Zen Pinball 2 for PS4. The upcoming version is scheduled to launch on December 17, and as before, the game will be a free download and serve as a platform for downloading tables as DLC. There will be 20 tables at launch, and each will be available individually or as part of eight different sets (Star Wars Pinball, Star Wars Pinball: Balance of the Force, Marvel Pinball, Marvel Pinball: Avengers Chronicles, Plants vs. Zombies Pinball, Epic Quest, Paranormal, and Earth Defense).
Zen Pinball 2 is now available to download from the eShop for Wii U. The free download includes trials for each of the launch tables, as well as the ability unlock the full versions of current and future tables. Pinballers will be able to play on the GamePad with direct play, challenge others locally via splitscreen or hotseat modes, and compete in various challenges for placement in a national ranking system as well as in global tournaments. Several tables are currently available, incuding three Marvel table packs, the three-table Classic pack, and a handful of singles, including Epic Quest and Plants vs. Zombies.
Zen Studios’s pinball platform Zen Pinball 2 will be available next week on eShop for Wii U. The free download includes trials for each of the launch tables, as well as the ability unlock the full versions of current and future tables. The Wii U version of Zen Pinball 2 will hit the shop with three Marvel table packs (Avengers Chronicles, Marvel Pinball, and Vengeance and Virtue), the three-table Classic pack, and a handful of single tables, including Epic Quest and Plants vs. Zombies.
Zen Studios has announced that Zen Pinball 2 will launch later this month on the Nintendo eShop for Wii U. Zen Pinball 2 is a free download that serves as a platform for players to test out and purchase the myriad tables already available. For those unfamiliar with the table library, Zen has released themed tables for various Marvel comic franchises, including The Avengers and Spider-Man, as well as for other games, such as Plants vs. Zombies.
Just because the credits have rolled doesn’t mean that The Avengers can hang up their spandex. Zen Studios is calling them back to action with the launch of the in-app DLC pinball table Marvel’s The Avengers for Zen Pinball for iOS, Zen Pinball 2 for OS X, and Zen Pinball THD for Android?. The $1.99 download, $2.99 for the OS X version, is designed to follow the film’s storyline with all of the Avengers joining the battle against Loki’s invading forces.
