Microsoft is holding a launch event for the Xbox One version of Evolve at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa on Monday, February 9, at 9 p.m. The store will be redesigned to adopt an Evolve theme, allowing early buyers to pick up their pre-order at 12:01 a.m., sign up for giveaways, and ask questions in a Q&A with Major Nelson and developers from Turtle Rock Studios. The first 150 buyers to pick up their game will also receive an Evolve gift bag. Additional details can be found on the event’s Facebook page.

Forza Horizon 2 gets Top Gear Car Pack, plus a free car for all

A new set of rides has gone live for Forza Horizon 2 today, the Top Gear Car Pack. The $5 download includes five vehicles: the 2015 Lexus RC F, 1993 Jaguar XJ220, 2014 BMW M235i, 1986 Lamborghini LM002, and the 2015 Ferrari 458 Speciale. A free addition for all also joins the game’s roster, the 1966 Ford Lotus Cortina. Details for each are available below.

White Night releasing for PC, PS4 on March 3, Xbox One on March 6

OSome Studio’s upcoming narrative-driven, horror-themed survival title White Night is nearing completion and set to go live next month. The Linux, Mac, PS4, and Windows PC versions will be available on March 3 and the Xbox One version on March 6. As the survivor of a deadly car crash, players will attempt to seek aid from the inhabitants of a strange, isolated mansion. Needless to say, that quickly turns into a fight for survival as they battle through, explore, and navigate their way around the puzzles and dangerous that await on the estate.

Dying Light now available in stores and online for console, PC

Techland’s latest open-world action title Dying Light has launched for console and PC. The parkour-infused survival title pits players, as undercover operative Kyle Crane, against hordes of zombies as they make their way through an overrun city on a rescue mission. The game features a day-and-night-focused design, allowing players to scrounge for supplies during the day while challenging them to survive the night against faster, more powerful enemies. And as recently announced, the previous pre-order bonus Be the Zombie multiplayer mode is now free for all.

BioWare releases 10 free tavern songs from Dragon Age: Inquisition

Fans of Dragon Age: Inquisition’s ballads can take them on the go today with the release of several of the game’s tavern songs. All 10 of the tracks, performed by Elizaveta and composed by Raney Shockne, are being made available for free. Additionally, BioWare has released the sheet music from each track, which musicians can also use to enter a recently launched Fan Celebration Contest. The songs can be downloaded from the official site and will be free until February 9.

Dying Light release dates revealed, Be the Zombie mode free for all

Techland has announced that Dying Light will have a worldwide digital release for PC on January 27. The PS4 and Xbox One versions will also launch on the same day in North and South America, while digital copies in other territories will be released on January 28 and physical copies on February 27. The studio also announced that the Be the Zombie multiplayer mode will no longer be a pre-order bonus but free for all. A new gameplay video was released of the team demonstrating the mode. Dying Light co-op spotlighted in new gameplay trailer

Techland has released a new video showcasing the co-op mode from their upcoming open-world action title Dying Light. A team of survivors controlled by two lead developers, a brand manager, and an assistant producer from the studio assist one another to battle back the undead hordes. The drop-in/drop-out-supported four-player multiplayer is integrated into the campaign, allowing players to take on quests, explore, and tackle co-co-specific challenges together.

Elder Scrolls Online dropping for-pay model, console release dated

A lot of news out of Bethesda today in regards to the upcoming revamp of their Elder Scrolls MMO, The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited. First up, console gamers were given a set launch date of June 9 for both PS4 and Xbox One. The biggest announcement, impacting all players, is that the game is dropping its for-pay model on March 17. Instead of a monthly subscription fee, players will only have to pay the one-time purchase price whenever they first buy the game. The Tamriel Unlimited release includes all of the content from the original game as well as new Justice and Champion systems, plus support for optional for-pay content and an in-game Crown Store for item customization. Former and current accounts will all be upgraded to the new version for free. To entice more players to Tamriel, a new 23-plus-minute ‘supercut’ cinematic video was also released, featuring all of the game’s factions battling it out.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Exo Zombies gameplay trailer up

A new gameplay trailer has launched for Exo Zombies, one of the additions from the upcoming Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare DLC pack Havoc. The gameplay clip runs a little over two minutes and features the latest actors to join the series, including Bill Paxton and John Malkovich, mixing it up with a variety of exo-suit-powered zombies and mutant dogs. The Havoc pack is set to launch first for Xbox on January 27.

Resident Evil remake now available online for console, PC

The latest remake of Resident Evil, based on a previous remake released on the GameCube in 2002, has launched online for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. The new version features upgraded textures, remastered audio with support for 5.1, two resolution choices (4:3 or 16:9 widescreen), support for a new control scheme in addition to the old tank-style controls, and a new Easy Mode. The GameCube version was also released for the Wii as part of the Archive series, but for those who haven’t tried it, imagine the original game but with revamped puzzles, tweaked enemy placement, and slightly different pace. As a reminder, this is a download-only release, so check for it on Live, PSN, and Steam.
