Techland releases Dying Light gamescom demo gameplay video

Techland is heading into gamescom with a new trailer for Dying Light. The footage, clocking in at just under two and a half minutes, is taken from a demo that will be playable at the conference, which runs from August 14 to 17 in Cologne, Germany. All attendees will be able to try the demo for themselves by heading to the kiosks stationed in the convention’s Entertainment Area.

Nemesis, the final download pack for Call of Duty: Ghosts, is now live for 360 and Xbox One. The $14.99 download includes four multiplayer maps as well as the final entry in the Extinction storyline, Exodus. The maps (Dynasty, Goldrush, Showtime, and Subzero), detailed below, range from small to medium in size and each include their own unique Field Orders. Exodus features different escape paths for a more dynamic last act, plus new weapons to craft and a new Ancestors enemy type.

Microsoft to launch Madden NFL 15 Xbox One bundle on August 26

Microsoft has announced a new Madden-themed bundle for Xbox One. The set will launch in retail on August 26 for $399 and include a download code for a free copy of Madden NFL 15. In addition to the voucher, the bundle will also include the system itself, a headset, a wireless controller, and a token for three Madden NFL Ultimate Team Pro Packs.

Call of Duty: Ghosts to round out DLC run with Nemesis this August

Activision has announced the final download pack for Call of Duty: Ghosts, Nemesis. The drop will include four multiplayer maps as well as the final entry in the Extinction storyline, Exodus. The maps (Dynasty, Goldrush, Showtime, and Subzero) are each detailed below, but the batch ranges from small to medium in size and include their own unique Field Orders. Exodus opens up the Extinction mode some with different paths to take during the episode’s final escape, plus new weapons to craft and a new enemy type, the Ancestors.

Frontier’s Edge goes live for PC, Xbox One versions of Titanfall

Frontier’s Edge, the latest map pack for Titanfall, is now available for PC and Xbox One. The $9.99 download includes three new maps: Dig, Export, and Haven. Dig features a series of narrow paths, surrounded by steep rock walls, that connect a network of processing plants; Export is set on the side of a mountain and focuses on close combat; and Haven centers on a beach resort built on the edge of a large crater lake.

Destiny beta breaks records, logs over 4.5 million players

Activision has released details about the recent beta for Bungie’s upcoming first-person shooter Destiny. The beta period kicked off on July 16 and closed on Sunday, and in the intervening period, the game logged over 4,638,937 unique players. According to Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg, the program marked “the biggest beta of this console generation by a wide margin and the largest console beta ever for a new video game IP to date.” Bungie COO Pete Parsons added that they “cannot thank the community enough” and that “the response was humbling.”

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare storyline detailed in new trailer

A new trailer has launched for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. The three-minute-long Campaign Story Trailer follows the events that lead up to the game, which revolves around a massive terrorist attack on nuclear facilities across the globe. As nations struggles to rebuild, a private military contractor takes the lead and begins to emerge as the sole superpower. Expect to see a lot of sci-fi-styled armament and fast-paced action. Some new screenshots were also released and have been posted below.

Pinball FX2 pushed back to next month for free 360 table transfers

Pinball FX2 has been delayed slightly, but the extra time is for a good reason: free table transfers from the Xbox 360 version. Initially, previously purchased tables would be locked to the 360, but after community feedback, the studio followed up with Microsoft about the process and came up with a solution. As a result, the studio has decided to push the release date back until next month, which will allow them the time to work out the transition process so that players will be able to import their tables at launch.

New extended version of Tekken 7 trailer revealed at Comic-Con

Bandai Namco has released an extended version of the Tekken 7 teaser that was debuted during this year’s Evo. The new cut was shown at the studio’s Fighting Game panel during Comic-Con and runs a little over a minute and a half longer than the original.

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor console, PC versions dated

Gamers will be able to once again battle the forces of Mordor on September 30 when Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor launches for 360, PS3, PS4, and Xbox One. PC gamers will get their chance shortly thereafter via Steam on October 2. As the ranger Talion, players will find themselves guided by the Spirit of Vengeance in a war against Sauron and his forces after the death of his family. The game uses a new mechanic dubbed the Nemesis System, which allows the computer to keep track of the player’s action with each enemy so that future encounters play out differently, with an archenemies emerging before the end.
