Final Fantasy XV launches in store, online for PS4 and Xbox One

Square Enix has released the long-awaited fifteenth entry in the mainline Final Fantasy series today. The delayed release is being described as the “next evolution of the world renowned video game series, featuring visceral action-packed battles, a fantasy world based in reality, and colossal wonders to behold.” Players take on the role of Crown Prince Noctis, as he and his friends go on a quest within the lands of Eos to discover his destiny amidst an ongoing war with the Niflheim empire. Styx explores Korrangar in new Styx: Shards of Darkness screens

Cyanide Studios has released some new screenshots from Styx: Shards of Darkness. The sequel to Master of Shadows, launching early 2017, once again finds Styx on a mission to acquire more Amber by doing what he does best: stealing. This time, it’s an ambassador’s scepter. The four screens showcase the Port of Korrangar, a heavily guarded waystation for airships. The sequel will feature a crafting system for traps and devices, a teleport ability, and an emphasis on non-linear play with an open-ended approach to tackling objectives.

Titanfall 2 multiplayer trial announced for console, PC

EA has announced a free multiplayer trial for Titanfall 2. Respawn’s recently released shooter allows players to once again take control and pilot a giant mech or battle on foot. Soon, everyone will get the chance to try out all of the multiplayer modes, as the demo period is set to kick off on November 30 for Origin Access members and on December 2 for everyone else. Progress made during the trial will carry over into the full game. Players who decide to purchase the game will be able to download all post-launch downloadable content, including maps and modes, for free.

Forza Horizon 3 – Blizzard Mountain detailed, going live December 13

Playground has released new details about Forza Horizon 3’s first add-on, Blizzard Mountain Expansion. Scheduled to launch on December 13, the pack will introduce several elements to the series, including blizzards, ice, snow, and high-altitude courses. Players will compete in a 50-plus-event campaign set around Blizzard Mountain to be crowned King of the Mountain. Several of which will involve new race types, including Descent and Hill Climb, while series staples return, such as Blueprints, Bucket Lists, and Rivals. Seven new cars will also be added to the garage: the 2016 Ford Gymkhana 9 Focus RS RX, 1965 Ford F-100 Flareside Abatti Racing Trophy Truck, 1975 Lancia Stratos HF Group 4, 1985 Lancia Delta S4 Group B, 2016 Nissan Titan Warrior Concept, 2016 RJ Anderson #37 Polaris RZR-Rockstar Energy Pro 2 Truck, and 2016 Subaru #199 WRX STI VT15r Rally Car.

Gears Pro Circuit MLG Columbus Open prize pool now $300,000

Microsoft and The Coalition have sent word that the Gears Pro Circuit MLG Columbus Open’s winnings has been increased by $50,000. The bump is being attributed to “the overwhelming support of our player community and sales of Gears of War 4 eSports Supporter Packs.” The additional cash has pushed the prize pool up to $300,000. Gamers can try their hand at the Open LAN event by going to the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Columbus, Ohio, on November 25. Everything kicks off at 4 p.m. (CST), and will run until the 27th. This is the first open event of the Gears Pro Circuit, and can be watched at the official site, with subsequent open events are set to take place in Paris, London, Mexico City, and Las Vegas. Team passes are still up for grabs, and allow for up to five players and a coach or manager to participate; additional info can be found here.

Star Wars Battlefront getting Rogue One: Scarif, X-Wing VR on Dec. 6

Star Wars Battlefront will be receiving its final download pack, Rogue One: Scarif, on December 6. The drop will add four maps set in a new location—the Beaches of Scarif—a multi-stage mode that mixes space- and ground-based combat, and two new playable heroes, Jyn Erso and Orson Krennic. Launching alongside the add-on is the free PSVR-exclusive mode Rogue One: X-Wing VR Mission.

Zen Studios to add Bethesda pack with Doom, Fallout, Skyrim tables

Zen Studios is teaming up with Bethesda to bring Doom, Fallout, and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim to their various pinball platforms. Each series will get its own table next month. Doom Pinball will have players fight their way through hordes of demons in a UAC facility. Fallout Pinball will be set in the wastes and feature Factions to join, Vaults to raid, and Bobbleheads to collect. Lastly, Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Pinball is set to have craftable weapons, magic, armor, loot to buy and sell, materials to mine, trainers, and side quests. All of them will have leaderboards, score tracking, and additional social features.

Ubisoft releases trailer for Rainbow Six Siege – Operation Red Crow

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege’s upcoming free update, Operation Red Crow, has received a new trailer. The drop marks the end of the first season of add-on content for Siege, and will add the map Skyscraper, two Japanese Special Assault operators, and new weapon skins. The download will also debut Elite sets, with Kapkan, Sledge and Thermite having access to bundles that include a matching uniform and headgear, an operator card, a charm, an operator name, and a victory animation. The second year of content will begin in February, launching alongside the Six Invitational, an event that will host Pro League matches and gameplay reveals.

Watch Dogs 2 launches online, in stores for PS4 and Xbox One

Ubisoft’s hacking-heavy open-world action title Watch Dogs 2 is now available for PS4 and Xbox One. PC gamers will have to wait a little longer until it’s released for Windows on November 29. Players take on the role of young tech wizard Marcus Holloway after he has been framed for a crime by the predictive program ctOS 2.0. In clearing his name, Marcus uncovers a city-wide conspiracy, which causes him to help the hacktivist group DedSec. The group will combat security forces by hacking the city’s infrastructure and using their skills to complete missions using stealth or force.

Dishonored 2 launches online, in stores for console and PC

After releasing earlier this week for pre-orders, Dishonored 2 is now available for all through retail and digital outlets. The assassin Corvo, protagonist of the original Dishonored, returns to fight alongside his daughter, Emily. The pair is in a battle to restore Emily to the throne, as they take down the usurper’s forces in the city of Karnaca. As in the original, players have access to melee abilities, firearms, and special powers.
