Final Fantasy XV gets gunplay heavy with Episode Prompto DLC

Final Fantasy XV has received a new drop today, Episode Prompto. The character-specific add-on introduces a new storyline from the perspective of photographer Prompto Argentum. Lost in the wilderness, he must fight his way through Imperial forces as he makes his way home. Along the way, he’ll come across a new snowmobile and find himself joined by Commodore Aranea Highwind. A free update has also gone live that includes “various fixes,” new themed tracks in the Regalia, and also allows players to upgrade the Regalia to the off-road Type-D model at Hammerhead.

Jutland’s liberation begins with release of Valkyria Revolution

The Valkyria series receives its fourth entry today with the launch of Valkyria Revolution. The spin-off shares some similarities with the original trilogy but is entirely separate from them, taking place in a different universe and timeline. The combat has changed, too, from being turn based and tactical to more free wheeling, similar to systems found in action role-playing games. As leader of the Vanargand Squad, an elite anti-Valkyria unit, players set forth to defeat the Ruzi Empire in order to end a devastating blockade that is slowly strangling the kingdom of Jutland. Their squad will fight throughout Europa using swords, guns, and ragnite-fueled powers.

Psychological thriller Get Even out now for console, PC

Bandai Namco has released The Farm 51’s psychological thriller Get Even. The first-person shooter finds players waking up in an abandoned asylum as prisoner and mercenary Cole Black. As he struggles to remember his past, a mysterious figure known as Red forces him to relive his memories through the Pandora headset while sending him out to explore the facility.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered getting standalone release

Call of Duty fans will soon be able to buy a copy of Modern Warfare Remastered without grabbing Infinite Warfare. Activision has announced that they will be separating the two, with PS4 owners getting the title first, beginning on June 27 for $39.99. The release will include the campaign, updated with improved lighting, animation and textures, as well as 16 multiplayer maps. To celebrate the launch, a new event will be kicking off on the same day, Days of Summer, which will feature in-game giveaways, experience boosts, new playlists, and a summer-themed map.

Valkyria Revolution gets new video, freebies, and DLC schedule

Another music-centric video has been released for Valkyria Revolution. The previous footage featured composer Mitsuda-san, while the latest finds him joined by vocalist Sarah Alainn. The two play and discuss the track “Eternal Rest.” Additionally, a free theme for PS4 and PS Vita has gone live, as has a massive list of upcoming downloadable content. Call of Duty: Black Ops III Zombies Chronicles out for console, PC

The download-only Zombies compilation, Call of Duty: Black Ops III Zombies Chronicles, has gone live. The release, which requires Black Ops III, includes eight maps from the various Treyarch-developed entries: World at War, Black Ops, and Black Ops II. All of the maps have been enhanced with “vibrant current-generation visuals, enhanced lighting, revamped character models and environments, and updated AI and audio systems.” Custom weapons are also available across all of the maps: Nacht der Untoten (Abandoned Bunker), Verruckt (Wittenau Sanitorium), and Shi No Numa (Jungle Swamp) from World at War; Kino Der Toten (Theater of the Dead), Ascension (Soviet Cosmodrome), Shangri-la (Exotic Jungle Shrine), and Moon (Lunar Base) from Black Ops; and Origins (WWI France) from Black Ops II.

E3 2017 – Capcom: Monster Hunter, Marvel vs. Capcom

Capcom spent their time at E3 revealing the latest Monster Hunter, Monster Hunter: World, and surprising players with a story demo for Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite. Set to launch early 2018 for console, Monster Hunter will mark the first time the series appears on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Additionally, PS4 players will also get extra content. And for fighting fans, the Marvel vs. Capcom demo is out now for console. New media was released for both titles.

E3 2017: Activision – Destiny 2 pushed up, Crash, Call of Duty: WWII

Activision hit E3 with a focus on three series: Call of Duty, Crash, and Destiny. The studio released new trailers for Call of Duty: WWII, highlighting multiplayer gameplay, and some more in-game footage from Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy. Most of the news surrounded Destiny 2, which has a new, earlier release date for consoles: September 6. PC gamers will be able to grab it off Battle.Net on October 24. A new cinematic story trailer was also revealed, “Our Darkest Hour,” featuring the latest baddie Dominus Ghaul.

E3 2017 – Bethesda: Wolfenstein II, Dishonored, Skyrim NS, VR

Bethesda had a strong showing with support for a number of their popular franchises. They also revealed an initiative that encompasses several of them, Creation Club. The system is for Fallout 4 and Skyrim and is set to offer curated, free mods for players and cash for creators.
