A new Hideo Kojima-created launch trailer has gone live for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. The video runs a little over five minutes and features cutescene clips as well as gameplay footage, along with sections from earlier titles, going back to the first Metal Gear Solid. A few additional details were also released about the Companion App. The PS4 and Xbox One download will connect with the game to act as a second screen to display a separate map as well as allow access to any map at any time, and it will play all collected records and music. The app will be available on September 1.

Dishonored Definitive Edition now available for PS4, Xbox One

New console owners are getting their chance to explore the plagued-filled streets of Dunwall today with the release of Dishonored Definitive Edition for PS4 and Xbox One. The latest outing includes graphically enhanced versions of the original game along with all downloadable content: Dunwall City Trials, The Knife of Dunwall, The Brigmore Witches, and Void Walker’s Arsenal. The packs add a two-part side story starring the assassin Daud, whom you will get to know in the original story, a 10-map challenge, and all four downloads that were previously pre-order bonuses.

GTAV’s Rockstar Editor coming to PS4, Xbox One, plus Online update

Rockstar will be adding Rockstar Editor to the PS4 and Xbox One versions of Grand Theft Auto V and GTA Online with next month’s update. The update will also add features that will be available for the PC version, including new font styles, the ability to copy and paste audio markers, Snapmatic integration, access to an ambient audio and sound effects library, and extra Director Mode options. Director Mode will receive an enlarged minimap with blips marking preset locations, the ability to spawn air and water vehicles, and the option to freeze time-of-day settings. GTA Online’s Freemode will also be receiving some new gameplay content, though specifics won’t be revealed until later.

Smite officially launches on Live for Xbox One

Hi-Rez Studios’ free-to-play mythology-themed MOBA Smite has left beta and is now officially available for Xbox One. All million-plus beta participants will find that all purchases, progress, and achievements have been carried over. While free to play, Smite also offers for-pay content in the form of cosmetic skins and new gods. Items can be purchased singularly or in a bundle via The Founder’s Pack, available until August 31, which contains all 67 gods, all future gods, 400 Gems, Ares ‘Soldier of Fortune’ skin, and Ymir ‘Cacodemon X’ for $29.99. For those wanting a freebie, PC players who take advantage of a one-time deal to link their accounts before August 31 will receive a Zeus Xbox skin for both versions. Monthly updates are planned to add new gods, content, and modes.

Two new downloadable packs have gone live for Batman: Arkham Knight, the 1989 Movie Batmobile Pack and Bat-Family Skin Pack. The Batmobile Pack adds not only the Batmobile from the 1989 film but also another skin based on the film for Batman, as well as two racetracks inspired by Batman and Batman Returns. The Bat-Family Skin Pack is a bundle of six skins from various timelines: 1990s Catwoman, One Year Later Robin, Arkham Origins Batman, Iconic Grey & Black Batman, 1970s Batman, and Original Arkham Nightwing. Each pack runs $1.99. New screenshots, a new trailer, and a DLC release schedule were also released.

The Choose Your Path video runs through a scenario that takes over two minutes to complete and allows viewers to decide how Max goes about tackling a variety of situations, loading a clip corresponding to their choice. There are three branches in total, three choices per branch, with each showcasing a different gameplay style. The video’s total run length is over seven minutes, the scenario looping several times so that viewers can follow multiple paths.
