Call of Duty Championship, presented by Xbox kicking off March 27

Activision and Xbox have announced details for the third annual Call of Duty Championship. The event will take place from March 27 to 29 in Los Angeles between the 32 teams from around in the world in a tournament to be crowned World Champions. A $1 million prize purse is at stake, and the final match will be live streamed on Xbox Live. Qualifying matches will be played online using Xbox One systems and broadcast on MLG.tv. Forza Horizon 2 gets free ride plus five more in G-Shock Car Pack

A new car pack has gone live for Forza Horizon 2, the six-ride G-Shock Car Pack. The $5 set includes the 2015 Nissan IDx Nismo, 1980 Subaru BRAT GL, 2013 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor Shelby, 1975 Ford Bronco, 1953 Ferrari 500 Mondial, and the 2010 Mazda Mazdaspeed 3. Five of the vehicles are for-pay additions, but the 2010 Mazda Mazdaspeed 3 is free for all players. Details for each are available below.

Halo 5: Guardians Multiplayer Beta begins, limited editions detailed

343 Industries has announced the beginning of the Halo 5: Guardians Multiplayer Beta. The beta pits two four-player teams against one another in arena-based combat across seven maps and three game types. Access to the beta is restricted to owners of The Master Chief Collection, and will end on January 19. For those who do participate, any content unlocked for Nightfall and The Master Chief Collection will be carried over into the retail version of Guardians. Coinciding with the beta’s launch is the reveal of three premium editions that have gone up for pre-order: Standard Edition ($59.99), Limited Edition ($99.99), and Limited Collector’s Edition ($249.99). A new expansion pack has launched for Sunset Overdrive. The $9.99 add-on, The Mystery of the Mooil Rig, features a host of new content: story missions, side quests, challenges, Chaos Squad missions, two amps, two vanity items, and two weapons. Plus, there is also a new trap, boss, and Night Defense base mission. But the most significant addition is the expansion of the player’s water-based move list, which now includes diving and jumping, as several of the latest missions take place not just above but also below water.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare trailer reveals Exo Zombies cast

Activision has released a new trailer for the upcoming Exo Zombies mode for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. The footage marks the debut of Jon Bernthal, Rose McGowan, John Malkovich, and Bill Paxton as Atlas employees who are left to face the undead hordes. The first chapter will be bundled with the Havoc DLC pack, set to launch first for Xbox One in January .

343 kicks off Halo 5: Guardians multiplayer beta documentary

343 Industries has rolled out the first in a new behind-the-scenes series detailing their work on the multiplayer beta of Halo 5: Guardians. The beta is scheduled to launch this month for owners of Halo: The Master Chief Collection, and the new six-part series, The Sprint – Making Halo 5: Guardians Multiplayer Beta, will follow the developers and development stages as the beta takes shape. The first episode, titled Balance, premiers today at 6 p.m. (CST) on the Halo Channel, Windows 8.1, and Xbox One. A new episode will air each day until the beta launches on December 29. Tetris Ultimate is making the leap from handheld to console today with its release for PS4 and Xbox One. The $9.99 download features six modes, including versus for up to four players. 3DS owners will note that this version features fewer modes, but it’s also $10 less than the digital version available on eShop and $20 less than the physical release. But for Tetris fans, take note: the handheld version has Challenge mode, which sports four variants. Each mode included in this version is detailed below.

Forza Horizon 2 – Storm Island now live, adds 5 rides, 90 events, more

The Storm Island digital expansion pack has hit Live for the Xbox One version of Forza Horizon 2. The $20 add-on includes a new area, Storm Island, which is home to 90 new events, five new event types, fog, and tropical storms. Other new content includes a Car Meet, Rivals events, Bucket List challenges, speed traps, speed zone leaderboards, upgrades (off-road suspension, tire, and transmission), and rally-inspired body kits for specific cars. For multiplayer-specific additions, there are 20 unique race routes, six Gauntlet events, three Showdown events, five online championship event types, and four Playground arenas. Heists emerge in new Grand Theft Auto Online screenshots, trailer

Heists have been an eagerly awaited addition to Grand Theft Auto Online, and today, Rockstar has revealed a bit more about their plans. The four-player, multi-tiered Heists are currently scheduled to be added to Grand Theft Auto Online in early 2015 for all versions across console and PC. The mode will also bring with it new weapons, clothing, and vehicles. Over a dozen screenshots have also been posted, which, along with the trailer, should give would-be robbers a good look at what’s in store for next year.

The Devil May Cry series will be returning next year with two titles, DmC Devil May Cry: Definitive Edition and Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition, both for PS4 and Xbox One. The Definitive Edition of DmC will include a host of new, extra content: Vergil playable in Bloody Palace Mode, Gods Must Die difficulty level, Must Style Mode, Hardcore Mode (designed after the older Devil May Cry titles), Turbo Mode and other gameplay modifiers, new costumes sporting designs akin to the original titles, 60 frames-per-second at 1080p, and all downloadable content, including the Vergil’s Downfall side story. Nothing else about Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition was mentioned aside from its release date of summer 2015.
