CastleStorm to storm the walls of Live Arcade on May 29
Zen Studios has announced that their upcoming physics-based tower-defense title CastleStorm will launch on May 29 on Live Arcade. The Pinball FX2 developer stated that the inspiration behind the design, which also includes offensive ground-based attacks, was their childhood memories of building and destroying Lego castles. To that end, a built-in castle editor will allow players to test their strongholds off and online. In addition to a 12-level, story-drive campaign, the game will also feature online multiplayer and co-op play.

Spiders’ Jehanne Rousseau details upcoming RPG Mars War Logs
Spiders has released a new video explaining the ins and outs of their upcoming sci-fi-themed role-playing game Mars War Logs. The studio has been releasing media at a trickle, and save for a revamped website, has been pretty low key as to what all players can expect when the game launches this summer. The nearly three-minute video, narrated by Spiders CEO Jehanne Rousseau, covers a little bit of everything, including the game’s origins, story, mechanics, and emphasis on consequences.

Capcom Arcade Cabinet adds 1942, SonSon, more with Game Pack 5
A new Game Pack has launched for Capcom Arcade Cabinet, Pack #5. Included in the set is the shooter 1942, action-puzzler Pirate Ship Higemaru, and action-platformer SonSon, all from 1984. As a bonus, if gamers have the previous four packs and purchase the fifth, they will receive 1943 Kai and Vulgus for free.

Spiders Studio releases four new screens from Mars War Logs
Spiders Studio has released a handful of new screenshots from their upcoming cyberpunk role-playing game Mars War Logs. Slated to launch for 360, PC, and PS3 later this year, the screens reveal Devotion Chase, a trusted confidant of general Honour Grant, a leader in the ongoing civil war, and one of the many who is on the hunt for the game’s protagonist, Roy.

Terraria now available on Live Arcade and PSN
Re-Logic’s PC adventure-RPG Terraria is now available for 360 and PS3. The 505 Games-published port features random events, crafting, world-building elements, and AI characters who will move into player-created structures. The console adaptation includes new single-player content and new multiplayer modes that support up to four players online or locally via splitscreen.

Terraria launching next week on Live and PSN
505 Games has revealed that the console version of Terraria will be launching next week, first on PSN and then on Live. The PS3 version will launch March 26, and the 360 version a day later, on March 27. The console adaptation will include new single-player content and new multiplayer modes, with support for four-player local splitscreen and four-player online play.

1986 Gamepack to launch this week for Capcom Arcade Cabinet
Capcom Arcade Cabinet’s second Gamepack is set to launch tomorrow for 360 and PS3. The 1986 Gamepack includes Legendary Wings, Side Arms, and Trojan for $9.99/800 MS Points. Also, for those wanting a title or two from the 1985 Gamepack, Ghosts ‘n Goblins, Gun.Smoke, and Section Z are all available individually on PSN for $3.99.

Darkstalkers Resurrection now on PSN, tomorrow on Live
Fighting fans looking to scratch that nostalgic itch will be able to do so twice over with Darkstalkers Resurrection. The combo back, which features Night Warriors: Darkstalkers Revenge and Darkstalkers 3, is now available on PSN, and will be available tomorrow on Live Arcade. As with previous digital re-releases, Capcom has added GGPO-enabled online play, an HD graphics filter, unlockable bonuses, and other goodies, such as replay sharing, Tutorial Mode, and Spectator Mode.

Mars War Logs crushes mutants, fanatics in new combat trailer
A new trailer from Spider Studios reveals more of the combat system that players will use against the beasts, mutants, and zealots of Mars in their upcoming cyberpunk role-playing game Mars War Logs. The two-minute-plus video shows some of the game’s arms, armor, and unlockable Technomant-based powers, as well as some one-on-one and group action.

Capcom Arcade Cabinet – Game Pack 1 now on PSN, Live tomorrow
The first Game Pack has launched on PSN for Capcom Arcade Cabinet, and will be launching tomorrow on Live Arcade. The $4.99/400 MS Point set includes 1943: The Battle of Midway, Avengers, and Black Tiger. Black Tiger is also a free solo release because it includes the Capcom Arcade platform, which is used to access the other titles as well as those in future game packs. Platformer fans looking for more action after Black Tiger can check out the beat ‘em up Avengers, while shooter fans can take to the Pacific in 1943.
