The new standalone prequel to Wolfenstein: The New Order, The Old Blood, has launched on Live, PSN, and Steam. The $19.99 download takes B.J. Blazkowicz through eight chapters that span two interconnected storylines set in 1946. The first part, Rudi Jäger and the Den of Wolves, finds him behind enemy lines in Bavaria, undertaking a two-part mission to break into Castle Wolfenstein and steal intel to find General Deathshead’s compound. The second part, The Dark Secrets of Helga Von Schabbs, takes place further along on his search, after he stumbles upon a city where strange artifacts have recently been uncovered.
Wolfenstein: The New Order is getting a standalone, digital prequel later this year from MachineGames. Scheduled to launch May 5, Wolfenstein: The Old Blood will take players back to 1946 as B.J. Blazkowicz attempts to halt the Nazi’s progress in a two-part mission set within Bavaria. The first part, Rudi Jäger and the Den of Wolves, tasks players with breaking into Castle Wolfenstein, while the second, The Dark Secrets of Helga Von Schabbs, sees them fighting a Nazi archaeologist meddling in dark forces within the city of Wulfburg. More details will be revealed at PAX East at 12:30 p.m. (CST) on Friday and Saturday on Twitch.tv.

B.J. Blazkowicz once again returns to save the world from the Nazis today in Wolfenstein: The New Order. The latest take on the long-running series sees Blazkowicz in an alternate timeline where the Third Reich won World War II and rule as masters of the world. After a 14-year-long coma, the old fighter finds himself in a strange new world that’s ruled by his old enemy, who overcame the Allies and have since maintained their hold through the use of strange sci-fi tech. Alongside a small group of resistance fighters, players must guide the first-person-shooter legend to victory before the Nazis take their war machine to the stars.
With less than a week to go until release, B.J. Blazkowicz is back in one last video outing for Wolfenstein: The New Order. The launch trailer, House of the Rising Sun, features Blazkowicz alongside resistance fighters battling the occupying Nazi forces. After a live-action intro of a peaceful protest being crushed, B.J. and company compare war wounds before some of the Third Reich’s stranger creatures appear (and are promptly blown away). On top of the destruction, you also get to enjoy a German-language version of House of the Rising Sun.
A new trailer has been released highlighting the different gameplay paths available in Wolfenstein: The New Order. Titled Stealth vs. Mayhem, the video, clocking in at just over three and a half minutes, features B.J. tackling an assignment in two different ways. For the tactical approach, he breaks locks and takes down Nazis with knives and a silenced pistol, while the other, more chaotic approach sees him destroying cover and blowing soldiers away with machine guns and grenades.
A new trailer has been released for Wolfenstein: The New Order. In the new footage, titled Nowhere to Run, beleaguered resistance fighter B.J. Blazkowicz is embroiled in a battle against General Deathshead and his Nazi stormtroopers. There’s a mixture of live-action and in-game footage, with the latter featuring dual wielding with large machine guns, steampunk-style armor, and of course, chaingun action.
