Natsume has released Harvest Moon: More Friends of Mineral Town on the Wii U Virtual Console. The Game Boy Advance title is a follow-up to Back to Nature that includes new events, features, and mini-games. As a new arrival in a small town, players take on the task of turning their dilapidated farm around by planting and harvesting crops and raising animals. Along the way, they are able to meet and befriend the local townsfolk, and if all goes well, even get married and start a family.

Guitar Hero Live launches for iOS devices and console

Guitar Hero returns from its five-year hiatus today with Guitar Hero Live. Developed by FreeStyleGames, the studio behind the DJ Hero series, Guitar Hero Live features a host of new modes and options. The most immediate difference from its predecessors is found in the guitar controller, which has been updated to support six buttons in two three-button rows. On the software side, GH Live has been added, offering a first-person view in front of a real crowd that reacts based on player performance, and GHTV, described as “the world’s first playable music video network.” GHTV plays 24 hours a day and will be updated weekly with new songs, allowing players the chance to play along with whatever they see or request via on demand. The channel will also offer Premium Shows for premium playable content, such as live concert footage and new music videos.

Gameplay video released for Wii version of Rodea the Sky Soldier

NIS has released a new trailer showcasing the Wii version of Rodea the Sky Soldier. It was announced last year that the first-print copies of the Wii U version will come bundled with a copy for Wii, but until now, most of the media released has been focused on the former with little on the latter. This gameplay video marks the debut of the localized last-gen version, which makes for one of the better bonus pack-ins in recent memory.

Rodea the Sky Soldier intro, gameplay trailer released

NIS has released a new trailer for Kadokawa Games’ high-flying action title Rodea the Sky Soldier. The new video introduces Ion and shows the beginning of Rodea’s adventure, with around a minute of gameplay. Given Yuji Naka’s role in the game’s development, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that it looks like a colorful cross between Nights and Sonic.

Rodea the Sky Soldier gets bumped back to October 13, an LE for 3DS

NIS has announced that Rodea the Sky Soldier has been delayed from September 22 to October 13. It’s not all bad news, though. The studio also revealed a North American-exclusive Limited Edition version for 3DS, which will include a collector’s box and a soundtrack. A Limited Edition was already announced for the Wii U version. Both can be pre-ordered at NIS America’s online store for $54.99 and $74.99, respectively.

Mighty No. 9 Collector’s Edition detailed, new trailer, screens released

Deep Silver has announced that they are expanding their Mighty No. 9 offerings with a Collector’s Edition. The $59.99 set will come with a Launch Edition of the game, special packaging with a foil signature from Keji Inafune, and an individually numbered statue of Beck that stands 6.5 inches tall and sports 14 points of articulation along with three interchangeable faceplates. Both the Limited and Collector’s editions will come with Retro Hero DLC, which will revert the graphics to an older style and add a one-hit difficulty mode. It was also announced that the game will also support cross-buy across all physical and digital versions of PS3, PS4, and PS Vita. And to top off the reveals, a new 60fps trailer, Beat Them at Their Own Game, has also been posted.

Ronimo has returned with a new 2D side-scrolling strategy game for Wii U, Swords & Soldiers II. As Viking Chieftain Redbeard, players will embark on a 15-mission campaign alongside Kebab salesman Al’Yucaneet to the Netherworld in order to conquer the residing demonic hordes. Three factions in total are playable: Demons, Persians, and Vikings. In addition to the story is a local multiplayer mode, score-based challenges, and skirmishes. Off-TV play is also supported with the GamePad.

Deep Silver to publish physical, digital versions of Mighty No. 9

Comcept is teaming up with Deep Silver to bring the side-scrolling, Keiji Inafune-helmed action platformer Mighty No. to stores and online on September 15. Physical versions will be available for PS4, Wii U, and Xbox One, while Linux, Mac, Windows PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 will be digital only. Digital versions for 3DS and PS Vita will launch at a later date. Deep Silver is also providing several localized versions with subtitles, in addition to English, French, and Japanese voice-over support.
