inXile has brought back Wasteland. Not the successful Kickstarter-funded sequel but the 1988 original, courtesy of digital distribution. Released last Friday as a backer reward for its Kickstarter campaign, Wasteland 1 – The Original Classic is now available for all via GOG.com and Steam. As the leader of a band of Rangers, players will take to the wilds in order to battle bandits and mutated animals as they track down a new, even more dangerous threat. This latest version has been updated to run on modern systems and includes an expanded save function, new voice-over work, support for higher resolutions (with a choice of classic or smooth visuals), tracks from Wasteland 2, and text from the original pack-in book and manual.
