Slitherine gets Warhammer 40,000 license, title in development
Games Workshop has signed a deal with strategy game developer and publisher Slitherine for a new title set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe. No details were revealed as to the features, however, JD McNeil from Slitherine did state that it will be turn based, and the announcement also noted that Slitherine have already begun development “on multiple platforms.”

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Exterminatus DLC up for PC, PS3
Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine’s free co-op mode Exterminatus is now available to download for the PC and PS3. Xbox gamers will be able to download it “soon.” Exterminatus will be accessible through the main menu and allow teams of four to squad up as a Space Marine Tactical Marine, Devastator, or Assault Marine. Players will be able to kit out their marine with a customized weapon and perk loadout as they take them through the two dynamic-challenge-filled scenarios, Assault on Hab Center Andreas and Escape From Kalkys Facility.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Five Days of 40k promo kicks off
With Relic’s action-shooter Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine just around the corner (September 6), publisher THQ has announced a five-day contest in which different prize types will be given away each day until launch. The giveaways will take place on the game’s official Facebook page, with prizes ranging from merchandise to in-game content.

Warhammer Online: Wrath of Heroes announced, to be Play4Free
Not content with a Star Wars-based MMO, BioWare has announced that they are now tackling Warhammer with the new Warhammer Online: Wrath of Heroes. Based off of Age of Reconing, Wrath of Heroes is a player-versus-player Play4Free title feature three-team, 18-player arena battles. Players will be able to use a “variety of characters and iconic Warhammer Online heroes, settings, and weapons” as well as switch between heroes and teams mid-battle in a chaotic form of jump-in/jump-out play.
