Saints Row IV pre-order Commander in Chief Edition announced
Deep Silver will be upgrading all pre-orders of Saints Row IV to the Commander in Chief Edition. The next entry in the series will put players in the shoes of the President of the United States during an alien invasion, and the bonuses will help even the odds. The upgrade includes the Screaming Eagle, a weapon that fires rockets and stuns enemies with a Sonic Scream attack, an Uncle Sam uniform, and the all-purpose, American Army Knife-styled ‘Merica weapon.

THQ announces results of asset sale, Crytek, Sega, Ubisoft buy
THQ has announced the results of their recent asset sale, and the details, which include the new homes of Homefront and Metro: Last Light, can be found below. In regards to what will be done with the acquired studios and properties, the company states that they expect “the new owners to extend employment to most employees and to continue development of the games they purchased that are currently in development.” All of those assets that were not sold, including Darksiders stewards Vigil Games, “will remain part of the Chapter 11 case.“ As of their announcement, the THQ estate will receive around $72 million and employee a small staff to assist during the transition period.

Volition and THQ are revisiting the Saints Row well with a new all-in-one release, Saints Row: The Third – The Full Package. The new edition will include the game and all post-launch content to date, which includes three DLC packs (Genkibowl VII, Gangstas in Space, and The Trouble with Clones) and over 30 bonus items.

Volition’s latest entry in the Saints Row series has hit store shelves for the 360, PC, and PS3. Saints Row: The Third continues the open-world hijinks with players leading The Saints, now a marketing brand going under the name Saints-Ultor Media Group, against their rivals for control of Steelport. The Deckers, The Luchadores, and The Morningstar are all vying for power, with victory going to the gang with the biggest crew and most guns. Or largest rabbit mask. Whichever.
