Valkyria Chronicles Remastered coming digitally, physically to PS4

Sega is following up their PC re-release of the PS3 tactical role-playing game Valkyria Chronicles with a new Remastered version for PS4. Valkyria Chronicles Remastered is set to launch digitally and physically this spring for $29.99, and as a bonus for early buyers, first-run and pre-order copies will come with a Squad 7 Armored Case that features the main characters. In addition to the main campaign, which tasks players with leading Gallia’s Squad 7 against the invading forces of the Empire, the game will also include all downloadable content. The DLC will add Hard EX Mode, Challenge of the Edy Detachment, and missions for Edy and Selvaria. The game will also feature support for 1080p at 60fps, dual audio tracks, and trophies.

Sega has followed up Monday’s tweet with an official announcement regarding Valkyria Chronicles for PC. The game is indeed in development, and in addition to the base game, PC gamers will also be receiving four DLC packs. The add-ons include Hard EX Mode, two side-story campaigns (Edy’s Enter the Edy Detachment and Selveria ‘s Behind Her Blue Flame), and six challenge missions, Challenge of the Edy Detachment. The bundle is priced at $19.99 and scheduled to launch online on November 11.

Sega to open a new front, Valkyria Chronicles to deploy for PC

Sega has revealed via a tweet that Valkyria Chronicles is currently in development for PC. The turn-based strategy has, until now, been exclusive to PS3. The fantastic original spawned two sequels for PSP, the first of which was published in North America in 2010, but the other, the last of the trilogy, remains an untranslated Japan-only release. Fingers crossed this represents a continued interest in the series on Sega’s part.
