The long-running match-three puzzler Magical Drop is back today with the release of Magical Drop V for PC. The Golgoth Studio-developed bubble-burster features enhanced graphics, three modes (Arcade, Marathon, and Multiplayer), and the new Ghostlop shot that allows players to ricochet balls off walls. Scores are also tracked on online leaderboards.
UTV Ignition Games, the studio behind the psychedelic action-platformer El Shaddai, has passed the publishing rights for Vanillaware’s upcoming 2D action-RPG Dragon’s Crown to Atlus. Vanillaware will continue to develop the title, currently scheduled to launch next year for the PS3 and PS Vita, in which players take on the role of one of six adventurers with up to three friends in a side-scrolling medieval brawler.
El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron is now available for the 360 and PS3. The Old Testament-inspired action-platformer from UTV Ignition Games, based on the Book of Enoch, tasks players with delivering souls to the seven Fallen Angels in order to prevent a catastrophic flood. Players won’t be alone in their journey as they will battle their way through the tower of Babel with the help of Lucifel, Enoch’s guardian angel.
UTV Ignition Games has made a slew of announcements at E3, with titles running the gamut from the return of a classic puzzle series to a post-apocalyptic adventure to a light-hearted space RPG. The new IPs announced span PCs to consoles and include two items of particular note, the fantasy-novel-cover-come-to-life Dragon’s Crown and a demo for the surreal action platformer El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron.
UTV Ignition Games’ upcoming surreal action-adventure title El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron will be hitting store shelves on July 26 for the 360 and PS3. Inspired by the Old Testament’s Book of Enoch, players will battle their way through the tower of Babel in order to capture the seven Fallen Angels as the chosen priest, Enoch. With the aid of Lucifel, Enoch’s guardian angel, players will attempt to stop a flood that will wipe out mankind by offering up the souls of those seven who turned away from Heaven. Developed by Sawaki Takeyasu (Devil May Cry, Okami), the 2D/3D platformer has found a warm reception in Japan and is looking like it may be just the thing for the late summer doldrums.
El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron recently found a warm welcome in Japan, earning a Gold Award in Famitsu magazine as well inspiring diners to serve El Shaddi-themed dishes, and is building quite a name for itself stateside. To get gamers ready for its release later this summer, UTV Ignition Games has sent along some new shots showing Enoch making (and fighting) his way up the tower of Babel. Inspired by the Old Testament’s Book of Enoch, the surreal action-adventure title was developed by a team lead by industry notables Sawaki Takeyasu (Devil May Cry) and Masato Kimura (Okami, Viewtiful Joe).
