Stardock has released a new update titled Adversaries for Fallen Enchantress – Legendary Heroes. Version 1.7 adds class-specific items for all hero types as well as improvements for AI (now upgrades outposts, more inclined to declare war), economy balancing (towns provide more money per turn, harbors cheaper to construct), pathfinding (fixed rive-navigation bug), and more. A new crop of screenshots from Disgaea 4: A Promise Revisited has been released by NIS America. The new pics show a few of the new scenarios that are being added to the PS Vita re-release as well as the older character models in their new high-res forms. In addition to the new content, A Promise Revisited will include all of the original PS3 version’s post-launch DLC.

Disgaea 4: A Promise Revisited coming this summer for PS Vita

NIS announced that they will be bringing back Disgaea 4 later this summer in a new updated version for PS Vita. A Promise Revisited, scheduled to launch on August 12 in stores and on PSN, will include the original game, A Promise Unforgotten, as well as all downloadable content. NIS will also be adding new scenarios, characters, job-specific abilities, music tracks, and a new spell tier as well as high-resolution sprites.

Age of Wonders III version 1.09 patch released, detailed

Age of Wonders III received its first patch today. Triumph Studios noted that their goal with the update was to improve performance, fix hardware-specific issues, address problems with registration, adjust balance, and improve the AI. The full change log can be found below, but some of the highlights include the ability to adjust difficulty when restarting on the campaign map, lowered difficulty on squire, guest profile settings are now saved, and tactical AI is less likely to sally when defending. Quick saves and native high-resolution support were also added.

As Julian Gollop’s Kickstarter campaign for Chaos: Reborn, a reboot of his 1985 turn-based strategy game Chaos, passes the halfway mark, it’s been announced that over $100,000 has been raised so far. As designer of Laser Squad and co-designer of X-Com, Gollop is looking to return to the genre after a stint on the Assassin’s Creed series with a now-fantasy-themed version of his turn-based hit. The Age of Wonders series has been dormant for over a decade, but it returns today with the release of Age of Wonders 3 on GOG and Steam. The Triumph Studios-developed turn-based strategy title features online play with versus modes and scenarios, two playable factions, new leader classes (e.g., warlord, rogue, theocrat), a new tactical combat system, and an increased focus on unit specialization. Leaders will have to undertake quests, set up economies, negotiate with neighboring factions, and of course, crush enemy armies.

A decade-plus after the last Age of Wonders, Triumph Studios has sent word that the third entry in the series will be launching next month, on March 31. Fans of the series can look forward to the same mix of empire building, role playing, and tactical combat as its predecessors. The latest iteration features six leader classes and six main races (human, high-elf, dwarf, draconian, orc, and goblin), along with a world map up of fifty-plus location types, turn-based combat, sieges, a random map generator, and a story-driven campaign. Both versus and co-op multiplayer is also supported over set scenarios and maps created by the random map generator.

Slitherine has announced that they will be publishing an iOS version of Lordz Games Studio’s turn-based wargame Panzer Corps Wehrmacht. The portable release, in development with Flashback Games Studio, will include the same content as the Windows PC original, including all 26 scenarios and 400-plus units, as well as all 10 downloadable Grand Campaigns for the Afrika Korps and Allied Corps expansions as in-app purchases. The studios are also seeking beta testers to assist with bug hunting and fine-tuning.
