Activision launches Call of Duty summer sale, 50% off DLC
Call of Duty fans looking to catch up on DLC are in luck. Activision has kicked off a one-week summer promotion that slashes 50% off of the price of all previously released DLC packs for Modern Warfare 3 and Black Ops. Sale items include the two Content Collections and some extraterrestrial zombie-blasting. The promo is currently running for both 360 and PS3 as well as PC.

Free-to-play Call of Duty Online heading to China
Activision has announced that they have teamed up with Tencent Holdings Limited to launch Call of Duty Online in China. The multi-year agreement grants Tencent the exclusive license to operate Call of Duty Online, a free-to-play shooter with a microtransaction-based monetization system, in mainland China. The game will feature an original story based around Special Ops missions, a variety of modes and maps, perks specifically tailored to the Chinese market, as well as an in-game store to personalize weapons, characters, and gear.

Some new screenshots and additional details have emerged about Treyarch’s next entry in the Call of Duty franchise, Call of Duty: Black Ops II. Set in 2025, players are thrust into a new Cold War dominated by near-future technology, with combat relying heavily on robotics and drones. As the new crisis reaches a boiling point, players must make their way through a branching storyline that features non-linear missions, a first for the series.

To space! Rezurrection, the fourth DLC pack for Black Ops, is now available on PSN, Steam, and other digital outlets for the PC and PS3. Call of Duty: Black Ops’ fourth DLC pack, Rezurrection, has launched for the 360. The latest undead-centric release includes Moon, four remastered Zombies levels, the Zombies soundtrack, and a Moon theme. Moon includes new weapons, gear, and zombie types. The remastered levels include Nacht der Untoten, Verruckt, Shi No Numa, and Der Riese. For gamers who already have the remastered maps through the Classic Zombie pack that came with the Hardened and Prestige Editions, the pack can be redownloaded to “get Rezurrection with Moon; and Black Ops will make available the soundtrack and theme for free.”

Call of Duty: Black Ops – Rezurrection DLC announced (‘Zombies in spaaaace’)
Treyarch doesn’t get much rest these days, judging by their DLC output. Annihilation just launched on the PC and PS3 last week, and now comes news that they are readying a new Zombie-only release for later this month. The upcoming pack, Rezurrection, will launch on August 23 on Live for 1200 MS Points and take players to the only place left that the undead haven’t shambled over: the Moon. Yep, the Moon.

Call of Duty: Black Ops – Annihilation DLC PC, PS3 release date announced
Call of Duty: Black Ops’ third DLC pack will be hitting PSN, Steam, and other digital outlets in just 13 days. Annihilation will go for $14.99 and contain five new multiplayer maps: four for the base game and one for Zombie mode. The regular maps include Hangar 18, set in Area 51; Drive-In, a close-quarters map set in a American Drive-In theater circa 1960; Silo, a large multi-level secret Soviet missile site; and Hazard, a coastal golf course set on the cliff sides of Cuba. The Zombie map is titled Shangri-La and also includes a new zombie type.
