Activision has released some more of their Comic-Con media. The latest is a video for The Giant bonus map for Black Ops III’s Zombies mode. Fans might recognize the locale as it’s from an old favorite, Der Riese. The Giant will be available in all of the collector’s editions: Juggernog, Hardened, and Digital Deluxe.

Call of Duty: Black Ops III Zombies – Shadows of Evil revealed

Another gaming company making their mark at this year’s Comic-Con is Activision. The publisher revealed new details about Zombies in Treyarch’s upcoming entry in the Call of Duty franchise, Black Ops III. During Zombies Panel, it was announced that the game will include Zombies – Shadows of Evil, a new narrative-driven survival co-op mode featuring Jeff Goldblum, Heather Graham, Ron Perlman, and others. Adopting a noir-style theme, Shadows of Evil follows four characters (The Boxer, The Cop, the Femme-Fatale, and The Magician) as they fight to survive against an obscure enemy known as Shadow Man. The Juggernog Collector’s Edition was also on display, which will come with a Season Pass, The Giant map (a remake of Der Rise), and of course, a mini-fright modeled after the Juggernog Perk-a-Cola dispenser. A new trailer revealing Call of Duty: Black Ops III’s multiplayer has been released by Activision and Treyarch. The video demonstrates how the new movement system works in conjunction with levels designed from the outset to allow for maneuvers to be chained together during combat. Players also get a glimpse at the nine Specialists, who have their own abilities and progression system, as well as the new weapon-customization options.

Call of Duty: Black Ops III screens, trailer released, launching Nov. 6

After last week’s Ember teaser, Activision has followed up with not only a new trailer but also the first screenshots as well as the official release date for Call of Duty: Black Ops III. Treyarch will be making their return to the series after three years on Friday, November 6. Announced features include support for four-player co-op in campaign, a new, separate progression system for Zombies, a new weapon customizations system, and the new Specialist system, which allows players to rank and customize up to nine characters. Exo Suits will not be making a return from Advanced Warfare, but the high-tempo approach will remain in multiplayer with “a new momentum-based, chained-movement system,” which will allow for “players to move fluidly through custom-built environments with finesse.” Also, starting today, all pre-orders will receive access to the upcoming multiplayer beta.

Call of Duty: Black Ops III teaser Ember unveils an augmented future

Activision has released a new teaser for Call of Duty: Black Ops III. Titled Ember, the video runs a little over three minutes long and features a mixture of actual and created live-action footage that details the increased use of technology into the 2060s. Following the main Call of Duty line, high-tech weaponry and gear, now in the form of augments, will be prominent as tech-infused soldiers become more common on the battlefield.

It’s that time, PC and PS3 Call of Duty fans: the Black Ops II Season Pass has come to an end. The last drop, Apocalypse, has launched on PSN and Steam. The finale includes four new multiplayer maps and a new Zombies mode, Origins. The maps, detailed below, include Pod, Frost, Takeoff (based off of Stadium from Black Ops’ First Strike pack), and Dig (an adaptation of World at War’s Courtyard). Origins transports Zombies players to a Dieselpunk-styled World War I-era France where they will fight alongside four old comrades (Tank, Nikolai, Takeo, and Rictofen).

Activision has announced Treyarch’s final downloadable pack for Black Ops II’s Season Pass, Apocalypse. The fourth pack will include four multiplayer maps and a new mode for Zombies called Origins. The maps, detailed below, include Pod, a utopian community abandoned in the 1970s; Frost, a European city covered in snow and split by a frozen canal; Takeoff, a map based off of Stadium from Black Ops’ First Strike pack; and Dig, an adaptation of World at War’s Courtyard. Origins takes Zombies into a “Dieselpunk-stylized World War I-era France” (excellent!) where four heroes from the first map—Tank, Nikolai, Takeo, and Rictofen—return to help in the trenches.
