Total War: Shogun 2 Gold Edition announced, coming in March
Would-be Shoguns awaiting their time to strike will get their chance with the epoch-spanning Total War Shogun 2 Gold Edition. The collection will include Shogun 2 as well as both Rise of the Samurai and Fall of the Samurai. The Creative Assembly has released a suite of tools for modders looking to modify the Shogun 2 line. The Total War: Shogun 2 Assembly Kit includes an updated Battle Map Editor (TEd) with Steam Workshop integration and ability to create scripted single-player historical battles, as well as a built-in Mod Manager, Database Visual Editor, data-processing tool, and more. Total War: Shogun 2 gets patched, The Fall of the Samurai launches
Total War: Shogun 2′s new standalone expansion, Fall of the Samurai, is now available for download. Set 400 years after the original game during the Boshin War of 1863, The Fall of the Samurai pits the Imperial armies against those of the last Shogunate. In the midst of this epic struggle come the Americans, British, and French, who play a role in the war as they side with and against the six new playable clans.

Total War: Shogun 2 – Fall of the Samurai DLC announced for 2012
Sega will be seeing the samurai off with an upcoming standalone expansion for Total War: Shogun 2, Fall of the Samurai. Set to launch next March, the DLC will see six new playable clans fighting alongside the Emperor or Shogun as Japan faces a turning point with the arrival of America, Britain, and France. A larger and “improved” campaign map will host new island provinces, while new building and tech trees will introduce railways and naval bombardments to the series plus 39 new units, 10 new ship types, and three new agent types.
