Developer- and Publisher-specific Articles: Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Blacklist
A new mission and gear pack has been released for Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Backlist. Homeland, available today for 360, PC, PS3, and Wii U, adds two new co-op missions and a host of gear. The missions, one story related and the other standalone, will have players infiltrating a billionaire’s yacht and battling a terrorist cell in the Middle East alone or with a friend. The new gear includes new weapons, accessories, skins, and outfits: a crossbow with sleeping gas bolts, an Upper Echelon Suit offering better protection and stealth capabilities, a 4E Eclipse Suit that also adds more protection but also has more slots to equip additional items, three new lights (amber, gold, and white) for Sam’s goggles, and exclusive skins for Mercs and Spies.
Ubisoft has released a new video from Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Blacklist. The latest footage features tech ops specialist Charlie Cole detailing some of the gadgets and personnel that will aid Fisher in his mission to hunt down and stop the Engineers. It’s over seven minutes of profile debriefs, espionage, broken bones, and gun fights.
Ubisoft has revealed more of Splinter Cell Blacklist’s co-op multiplayer with a new trailer and batch of screenshots. Fisher will be assisted by a handful of allies in his missions, who will provide intel and assign tasks that can be completed to earn a special currency that unlocks access to new weapons and gear. One of the agents, Isaac Briggs, who is also featured in the trailer, will join in whenever another player wants to lend a hand. The Strategic Mission Interface, a new addition to the series, will be used to link single-player and co-op play.
Sam Fisher will be making his Wii U debut this August in Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Blacklist. Ubisoft has revealed that the revamped version will utilize the GamePad for interacting with the environment, using items, executing Killing in Motion moves, and managing the inventory.
Ubisoft has announced a premium edition for the next entry in the Splinter Cell series, Blacklist. The $169.99 Paladin Multi-Mission Aircraft Edition will be available on August 20 for 360 and PS3, and include, among other items, a remote control C-147B Paladin Aircraft and a limited 88-page graphic novel written by Nathan Edmondson. Ubisoft has released some new media for Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Blacklist. The latest round includes a handful of new screenshots, the official box art, and the new inauguration trailer. The footage gives players a nearly two-minute glimpse of the stabbing, snapping, shooting, and scurrying they will do as Sam Fisher in his mission to stop the Blacklist terrorist attacks.
Ubisoft has released a new trailer for Splinter Cell Blacklist detailing Sam Fisher’s new privilege, the Fifth Freedom (think Double-O status to the nth degree). Fischer will use his new powers to take down a global terrorist organization that’s wreaking havoc around the world as they up their attacks on the United States to see that the demands on their Blacklist are met.
Ubisoft has had a surprisingly busy E3 2012. From the return of Rayman for a new Wii U adventure to the open-world, open-ended action title Watch Dogs. And of course, there were zombies, assassins, and Fishers in abundance.
