Monolith Productions’ multiplayer online battle arena title Guardians of Middle-earth will be available on December 5 for 360. The game will launch digitally on Live Marketplace for 1200 MS Points, and December 4 on PSN for $14.99. Select retail stores will also carry boxed copies for $29.99, available the same day as the online versions, with the increased price being because of included vouchers for post-launch map, gameplay, and character DLC packs.

The game follows the film series as Frodo, Aragorn, Gandalf, Legolas, Gimli and the rest of the Fellowship visit the same locations and run across familiar faces as they journey to Mount Doom. Puzzles, magic, and melee combat await, and for those with the 3DS or PS Vita version, drop-in, drop-out support allows for friends to join in at any time.

The game will launch digitally on December 4 for $14.99 on PSN, and this fall for 1200 MS Points on Live Arcade. You shall pass! Warner Bros. has announced TT Games’ next Lego adventure, Lego The Lord of the Rings. Based on the film trilogy, Lord of the Rings is scheduled to ship this fall for the 360, 3DS, DS, PC, PS3, PS Vita, and Wii. The family-friendly quest will task gamers with solving riddles and battling blocky foes on their way to Mount Doom. Players will get to travel through the Misty Mountains, Mines of Moria, encountering Orcs, Uruk-hai, and the Balrog.
Warner Bros. is jumping into the multiplayer online battle arena genre this fall with Guardians of Middle-earth for the 360 and PS3. The Monolith-developed title will feature 10 players brawling in five-versus-five battles throughout Middle-earth, calling in the aid of over 20 guardians, including Gandalf, Sauron, and Gollum. In-game voice chat, stat tracking, and leaderboards will supplement the action.
