Developer- and Publisher-specific Articles: The Evil Within
Stem reopens today, just in time for Halloween, with the release of The Evil Within 2. Tango Gameworks’ action-heavy horror title finds players returning to the macabre world as beleaguered detective Sebastian Castellanos. It’s a race against the clock, as he must rescue his daughter before the realm becomes completely unstable. But before getting her to safety, he must first make his way through hordes of grotesque monsters.
Sebastian Castellanos returns this Friday with the release of The Evil Within 2. To kick off his new adventure in Stem, Bethesda and Tango Gameworks have released a launch trailer showing more of the gory survival-horror title. As Stem begins to disintegrate, Sebastian must make his way past an array of monsters and bosses in order to find his daughter Lily before it’s too late.
A new monster has made their way into the Stem world of The Evil Within 2. One of the disturbing humans that awaits Sebastian is Father Theodore. Dubbed a “master manipulator,” Theodore has a message that has allowed him to bend others to his will. His followers, known as Harbingers, stalk the realm with flamethrowers to burn whoever stands in their leader’s way.
Sebastian Castellanos faces off against bizarre villains in a new trailer for The Evil Within 2. Two of the monsters players will have to contend with are Stefano and Theodore, a duo who has made their home inside of Stem. Sebastian has to take them out quickly, too, as they are slowly warping the outside world. If he takes too long, both he and his daughter will be stuck inside the nightmare realm forever.
A new trailer for The Evil Within 2 shows one of the human monsters that players will have to contend with as Sebastion. The highlighted terror is former war photographer Stefano Valentini, who has somehow made his way into the STEM world. Described as “an artist with dark proclivities and unbounded imagination,” he went insane after losing an eye in an explosion, eventually becoming obsessed with taking photos of subjects during their final moments. In an effort to capture people during this precarious time, he ends up turning into an infamous serial killer to ensure that he has plenty of chances to get the perfect shot. He isn’t alone, either, as he is joined by one of his creations, Obscura.
Players are going to see what it takes to ‘Survive’ in a new trailer for The Evil Within 2. The psychological thriller from Tango Gameworks follows players as they take control of Sebastian as he attempts to find his daughter, Lily, before she is lost within a STEM world. Pre-orders will get a slight leg up in their journey, with word that everyone who puts down money early will receive The Last Chance Pack. The drop will include the exclusive burst handgun, crafted supplies, and medical supplies.
Bethesda had a strong showing with support for a number of their popular franchises. They also revealed an initiative that encompasses several of them, Creation Club. The system is for Fallout 4 and Skyrim and is set to offer curated, free mods for players and cash for creators. Other reveals include Dishonored: Death of the Outsider, Doom VFR, Skyrim for Switch, The Evil Within 2, and Wolfenstein: The New Colossus. Check below for release dates, screens, and trailers.

Juli Kidman’s story comes to its end today with the release of The Evil Within’s second download pack, The Consequence. Set immediately after The Assignment, players will see detective Kidman through her two-part downloadable side story. As before, players will get to see what she was doing during the original game while separated from Sebastian, which will involve her encountering new enemies and uncovering more about the Mobius group.
The Evil Within: The Assignment, the first of a two-part downloadable side story, is available on Live, PSN, and Steam. The Assignment is set during the original game and follows Sebastian’s partner, detective Juli Kidman, during their time apart. Her encounter differs from Sebastian’s in that she encounters new enemies, uncovers different information about the ongoing events, and has her own dealings with Mobius. The second part of her storyline will be available in The Consequence, set to go live this spring.
