E3 2017 – Bethesda: Wolfenstein II, Dishonored, Skyrim NS, VR

Bethesda had a strong showing with support for a number of their popular franchises. They also revealed an initiative that encompasses several of them, Creation Club. The system is for Fallout 4 and Skyrim and is set to offer curated, free mods for players and cash for creators. The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind now available for console, PC

Role-playing gamers can now dive into The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind. The expansion is noted to add over 30 hours of story content, along with the nature-magic-based Warden playable class, fast-paced player-versus-player Battlegrounds mode, and a 12-player Trial. Of course, the biggest addition—literally, as it’s the largest zone added since launch—is Vvardenfell Island. Morrowind fans will get to see the island 700 years prior to the events of The Elder Scrolls III. New players can head straight to the island, tackling the original ESO content at any time, while current players can head there with a quick upgrade for their character or try it as a new Warden.

Morrowind’s politics highlighted in ‘Assassins and Great Houses’

Bethesda has released a trailer highlighting the down-and-dirty politics that dominate Morrowind in The Elder Scrolls Online. In Assassins and Great Houses, players get a look at the intrigue that takes place throughout Vvardenfell, which will require them to work with several factions. In particular, they will have to balance their relationships with the three houses that dominate the realm: House Hlaalu, House Redoran, and House Telvanni.

The Elder Scrolls: Legends launches for PC, add-ons, dates revealed

The Elder Scrolls: Legends has left beta and officially launched for PC. The strategy card game, a free download through the Bethesda.net launcher, features single and multiplayer content. The first player-versus-environment add-on was also revealed, The Fall of The Dark Brotherhood. Scheduled to go live on April 5, the expansion has players take on the role of a double agent whose mission is to infiltrate the gang. Decisions made will affect not only how missions play out but also the ending. The add-on will feature three maps, 25-plus missions, 40 new cards, exclusive cards, and the Doom Wolf Mount for Elder Scrolls Online. Each map can be purchased in-game separately or as a bundle for $19.99 or in-game gold. Legends will also be launching on March 23 for iPad, and next month for Android tablets. May will also bring the mini-tournament Gauntlet Mode, Spectator Mode, and Twitch integration. Players who prefer the phone will get a chance to play this summer, while Mac gamers will get to try Legends this spring.

Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind showcased in new gameplay trailer

Bethesda has released a first look at the Morrowind expansion for The Elder Scrolls Online. The gameplay video introduces players to a new storyline that will see them returning to the fan-favorite realm to prevent the end of the world. The trailer, along with some new screenshots, show off the reimagined Vvardenfell Island along with some of the new armor, enemies, and weapons.

Console versions of The Elder Scrolls Online get Homestead update

The console version of The Elder Scrolls Online has been updated with the latest Homestead update. PS4 and Xbox One owners can now buy apartments, homes, manors, and an island with the free download. There are nearly 40 instanced homes to choose from that are styled after the 10 playable races. An initial home can be acquired for free by completing a tutorial quest, while the rest can be purchased with in-game Gold and through the Crown Store. Abodes are shared between all of the player’s characters, and they can be adorned with up to 2,000 items.

The Elder Scrolls Online now has homes, manors, more for PC players

Players can now set down roots in Tamriel with a new update for The Elder Scrolls Online. Beginning today, PC gamers can buy apartments, homes, manors, and an island for gold or through the Crown Store. Around 40 instances homes are on offer, designed around the 10 races. A free starter home is also on offer for those who complete a tutorial. Over 2,000 decorative items have been added, including barrels, beds, books, chests, crafting tables, paintings, and plants. Crafting skills can also be used to create some handmade items. Console owners will be able to get a place of their own on February 21.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind detailed, announced for June

Bethesda is set to add the island of Vvardenfell to The Elder Scrolls Online with the Morrowind expansion. Slated to go live on June 6, the add-on will feature several additions, including Vvardenfell, which is said to be the largest zone yet added and feature the same points of interest from Elder Scrolls III. The story is set 700 years prior to the game, however, with players fighting to save the famous warrior-poet and Guardian of Vvardenfell, Vivec. Players can also access the nature-magic-based Warden, who fights alongside a War Bear, the first new class since launch. Other additions include a new Trial and PvP mode for three four-player teams. New players can head straight to the content without any experience, while returning players will content appropriate for whatever level they might be at the time of their arrival to the island.

The Elder Scrolls Online begins seasonal event The New Life Festival

The Elder Scrolls Online begins its year-end celebration today. The New Life Festival is being held throughout Tamriel, offering Double Experience mead and limited-time quests that reward successful adventurers with special items. The event will end at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, January 4. To take part, players will need to meet Breda near Windhelm to initiate her quest, The New Life Festival. Afterwards, they will be able to work through up to nine daily quests, located throughout the various zones and themed for the different races.

Free-to-play card battler Elder Scrolls: Legends adds Chaos Arena

The Elder Scrolls’ Daedric Prince of Madness, Sheogorath, is spreading his influence to The Elder Scrolls: Legends next week. A time-limited event is set to kick off on December 14 that will add an alternate PVP Arena mode, Chaos Arena. The optional mode will randomly introduce special scenarios or lane rules to matches. Some games will have extra Magicka, swap players’ decks, begin with cards in the lanes, and more. Lane rules changes can result in cards changing lanes randomly throughout, buffs and bonuses from casting cards in certain lanes, and items being randomly attached to cards. Previously, lane conditions were only in PvE matches. A new set of special cards, the Madhouse Collection, are also being added, and their purchase will come with three copies of each card and an Arena Ticket to enter the Chaos Arena.
