Kalypso has announced that they will be releasing a console version of Daedalic’s role-playing game Blackguards. The tactical-heavy title will be available for PS4 and Xbox One as the all-in-one Definitive Edition that includes the original game and the downloadable pack Untold Legends. The drop adds new battle maps, quests, and weapons. After being falsely accused of murder, players set out for Ascania on a quest for revenge, but as an outlaw, their only company is a set of rogues with potentially menacing motives. As a hunter, mage, or warrior, they will have access to over 90 spells and 40 skills to see them through the 60-hour adventure.
Valkyria Chronicles Remastered will be deploying on May 17, according to Sega. The re-release will feature updated visuals for 1080p at 60fps, improved textures, Trophy support, dual language tracks, and all downloadable content. A new combat trailer has also gone live. All launch copies will come in a metal case with art featuring Squad 7.
Hard West has taken a macabre turn with its new downloadable add-on, The Scars of Freedom. The $2.99 scenario adds seven missions, 10 playable characters, and a storyline following an escaped slave named Libertee. After becoming a vigilante, Libertee falls into the hands of a demented surgeon who experiments on her. Now with supernatural abilities and a mangled body, she is on the hunt for revenge as she scours the land for the man responsible.
NIS has sent word that their upcoming tactical role-playing game Grand Kingdom will be launching on June 21. Players will be able to lead their mercenary squad on either the PS4 or PS Vita, but it was also revealed today that PS4 owners will be able to do so in style with a launch edition and a limited edition. The launch edition will include a 32-page art book, soundtrack in a cardboard sleeve, and a collector’s box. The limited edition will beef things up a bit with an 128-page art book, soundtrack in a jewel case, poster, decal sticker sheet, and larger collector’s box. The goodies, along with some new Japanese screenshots, are viewable below.
NIS has unlocked Disgaea PC: Digital Deluxe Dood Edition for pre-purchase on Steam. The Steam version runs $19.99 and includes a digital art book and a digital soundtrack. There are actually two versions on offer, however, with the other being a $29.99 physical version through NIS’ online store, Disgaea PC: Deluxe Dood Edition. The physical version includes a collector’s box, digital copy of the game with a digital art book and soundtrack, a 32-track physical soundtrack, and a 44-page hardcover art book.
Sega is following up their PC re-release of the PS3 tactical role-playing game Valkyria Chronicles with a new Remastered version for PS4. Valkyria Chronicles Remastered is set to launch digitally and physically this spring for $29.99, and as a bonus for early buyers, first-run and pre-order copies will come with a Squad 7 Armored Case that features the main characters. In addition to the main campaign, which tasks players with leading Gallia’s Squad 7 against the invading forces of the Empire, the game will also include all downloadable content. The DLC will add Hard EX Mode, Challenge of the Edy Detachment, and missions for Edy and Selvaria. The game will also feature support for 1080p at 60fps, dual audio tracks, and trophies.
NIS America is once again teaming up with developer Spike Chunsoft. This time around, the duo will be releasing a new tactical role-playing game for PS4 and PS Vita, Grand Kingdom. Slated for release this summer, Grand Kingdom will put players in the boots of a mercenary commander who must guide their troop to glory while four great nations battle it out for control of Resonail. In addition to a single-player campaign, online play will also be supported. An announcement trailer and batch of Japanese screenshots have been posted below.
Atlus has released Imageepoch’s tactical role-playing title Stella Glow. As Alto, a small-town boy turned adventurer, players will join the 9th Regiment of Regnant Knights in their attempt to prevent Hilda, the Witch of Destruction, from eradicating humanity. Alongside her Harbingers, she is attempting to save the planet by removing mankind from it. Not cool. Alto and the Regiment must track down and convince four other witches to help them stop Hilda before it’s too late. Players will be able to form bonds with their allies, explore during ‘free time’, and ‘tune’ the Witches’ hearts to make them stronger in a campaign estimated to last 40 to 60 hours.
