Techland covers Dying Light: The Following in 28-minute video

Techland is showing off Dying Light’s upcoming downloadable add-on The Following with a lengthy new gameplay video. Running nearly 29 minutes long, the video features a 15-plus-minute unedited look at the story-based expansion, highlighting one of the new quest chains, The Truth Is Out There, along with the new map, dirt buggies, and ranged weapons. The remaining run time is taken up by the Techland crew answering questions and offering insight into what’s taking place onscreen. For the map creators out there, the second edition of the Beyond Dying Light Dev Tools contest is ongoing and will end on August 31. Dying Light: The Following to add huge map, buggies, more

Techland has released details about Dying Light’s latest expansion, The Following. The story-driven add-on will feature dirt buggies, a new map the size of all previous maps combined, and new items. Three screens were released that offer a glimpse of the additions (see: guy shooting a shotgun from the buggy). The Following will also be available for free for Season Pass holders.

Techland has a proposition: drink water, get free Dying Light DLC

Dying Light developer Techland posted a joke yesterday on Twitter promoting delicious, delicious water. Whoever posted a picture of themselves drinking water and promoted it with the hashtag DrinkRightDyingLight would receive a docket code for a free premium weapon. The studio is doubling down on the surprise promotion by creating new, free downloadable packs. The exact number of which is dependent on the number of people who post a picture of themselves drinking water on Twitter with the tag #DrinkForDLC. The first goal is a perk, given that there have been nearly 5,000 tweets already, which is a 50% XP boost to player agility for 24 hours, beginning this Sunday. Check below for the full breakdown. All previous tweets count towards the new DLC.

Trial-focused expansion The Bozak Horde out now for Dying Light

The Bozak Horde downloadable expansion has gone live for Dying Light. Players will now be able to access the Harran Stadium and take part in a series of challenges created by the enigmatic Bozak. The tasks are tracked through leaderboards and can be tackled solo or with up to three other players. Survivors not only get to walk away with their lives, but they also receive a new compound bow. Accomplishing extra objectives will also unlock new arrows types, including electric, exploding, and incendiary, all of which can be taken back out into the game world.

Resident Evil 0 getting the HD treatment in early ’16 for console, PC

Capcom has announced their plans to follow the recent Resident Evil HD remake with a new HD remake, this time for Resident Evil 0. The prequel, previously only available for GameCube and Wii, is slated to launch in early 2016 for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. The game’s original director, Koji Oda, is back on board along with several of the developers from the original team. Oda and producer Tsukasa Takenaka released a video for the announcement, complete with a life-saving herb.

Techland will be releasing a new download pack for Dying Light on May 26, The Bozak Horde. The expansion will add a new co-op-centric mode that opens up the Harran Stadium so that players can take on a set of challenges prepared by an insane newcomer named Bozak. Playable solo or in teams of up to four, participants will compete for not only survival but also a new compound hunting bow that can be augmented with earnable electric, incendiary, and exploding arrows.

Resident Evil HD Remaster sells over a million units worldwide

Capcom has announced that the latest Resident Evil re-release, a download-only title in North America, has sold over a million units worldwide. The HD Remaster had previously set a day-one record for the fastest-selling digital release on PSN across Europe and North America. This latest version features updated graphics, sound, and controls, along with a new Very Easy Mode.

The Evil Within: The Consequence wraps up Det. Kidman’s tale

Juli Kidman’s story comes to its end today with the release of The Evil Within’s second download pack, The Consequence. Set immediately after The Assignment, players will see detective Kidman through her two-part downloadable side story. As before, players will get to see what she was doing during the original game while separated from Sebastian, which will involve her encountering new enemies and uncovering more about the Mobius group.

Resident Evil Revelations 2 out now in full online, as physical release

Capcom has released the physical version of Resident Evil Revelations 2. The $39.99 set includes all four downloadable episodes along with two spin-off episodes, the Throwback Map Pack for Raid Mode, two extra characters for Raid Mode, and four alternate costumes. A patch will also add online co-op for Raid Mode on March 31. All four episodes can also be downloaded for $5.99 each and the spin-off episode for $4.99, or they can be purchased altogether digitally as part of the Complete Season pass for $24.99. The difference between the Complete Season and the disc version is the latter’s inclusion of Wesker in Raid Mode, the alternate costumes, and the map pack.

The Evil Within: The Assignment calls in Kidman, out for console, PC

The Evil Within: The Assignment, the first of a two-part downloadable side story, is available on Live, PSN, and Steam. The Assignment is set during the original game and follows Sebastian’s partner, detective Juli Kidman, during their time apart. Her encounter differs from Sebastian’s in that she encounters new enemies, uncovers different information about the ongoing events, and has her own dealings with Mobius. The second part of her storyline will be available in The Consequence, set to go live this spring.
