Developer- and Publisher-specific Articles: Super Street Fighter IV
Capcom has announced that Ultra Street Fighter IV has launched for 360 and PS3. The downloadable upgrade is available for $14.99 for Super Street Fighter IV and Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition. Ultra adds Decapre, Elena, Hugo, Poison, and Rolento to the roster, six new levels, Training Mode Fight Request to practice between fights, Offline Battle Log for saving offline battle replays, Edition Select to choose which version of a character is preferred, Double Ultra option for access to weaker versions of both ultras, Red Focus attacks, and more. Physical retail releases will launch on August 5 for both consoles.
Capcom revealed some new information about Ultra Street Fighter IV this past weekend during their Capcom Cup event in San Francisco. The last mystery character was not announced, unfortunately, but the good news is that two modes have been added: Online Training Mode and Team Battle Mode. The former will allow players to spar with one another online, while the latter will add 3v3 matches to online play. New screenshots were also released, showing more of the 44-character roster battling it out in some of the six new stages.
A handful of new screenshots has been released showcasing the latest additions to Ultra Street Fighter IV. Elena, Hugo, Poison, and Rolento re-join the fight after their stopover in Street Fighter X Tekken, and going by the screens, apparently proceed to demolish the old crew.
Capcom took the opportunity at last weekend’s fighting game tournament EVO 2013 to announce a new iteration of Street Fighter IV, Ultra Street Fighter IV. Set to launch early next year for 360, PC, and PS3, Ultra will add five new characters, including Elena, Hugo, Poison, and Rolento, as well as six new stages, new modes, and rebalanced gameplay. According to Capcom, the development team took direct fan feedback from Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition into account when they were making adjustments to the core engine.
