Mega Man and Pac-Man join PS3, Vita Street Fighter X Tekken roster

For far too long Pac-Man has been confined to the realms of an abyss-like maze, haunted by determined foes and given only the briefest of reprieves when delicious fruits give him the power to wreck vengeance on his tormentors. It is time for the beast to be unleashed. And unleashed it shall be in the PS3 and PS Vita versions of the upcoming crossover fighter Street Fighter X Tekken. Capcom and Namco Bandai have announced that each has thrown a new fighter into the brawling lot, with Capcom sending forth the blue bomber himself, Mega Man, and Namco the ever-smiling, ever-deadly Pac-Man.

The buildup to Capcom’s Street Fighter X Tekken continues today with a new batch of media, as well as the unveiling of six new combatants. The latest additions to the roster are split evenly between Street Fighter (Balrog, Juri, and Vega) and Tekken (Paul, Law, and Xiaoyu), striking a healthy balance.

Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition to get Version 2012 update

Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition will be receiving a healthy update shortly with the release of Version 2012. All 39 characters will be rebalanced, with tweaks including hitbox extensions, longer stun durations, and increased hit-detection periods. A full list of the changes can be found at Capcom’s site in a 12-page PDF document. No launch date was announced.

Before Capcom rebooted Street Fighter with IV, the main series had evolved into one of the genre’s most technical 2D fighters with the Third Strike release of Street Fighter III. Reaching back into their catalog, Capcom is revisiting the fan-favorite entry with the Live and PSN release of Street Fighter III: Third Strike Online Edition for the 360 and PS3. Now available on PSN for $14.99 and tomorrow on Live for 1200 MS Points, players can also opt to skip out of having to clear arcade mode with all characters to unlock boss Gill and dip switch functionality with some launch-day DLC ($.99/80 MS Points each).
