Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories hitting PSN next week
Disgaea fans who missed out on the early years will get a chance to try out the second release, Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories, via PSN when it launches on the PS Store on January 22. Cursed Memories will be available as a PlayStation 2 Classic and offer gamers an excellent entry point to better understand the series’ turn-based system and role-playing elements. Gratutious Space Battles: Outcasts expansion now available for PC
Positech has announced that they have released a new expansion for their strategy title Gratuitous Space Battles, Outcasts. The Outcasts are a cybernetic race who rebelled against the oppressive zealots who hated them because of their perceived impurity, and who now travel the universe in search of other organic races to destroy. The add-on extends the ship-building options by adding 10 new designs and new Outcast-only modules, and it also adds two new scenarios as well as the Outcast as a playable faction in all previously released content.

Omerta – City of Gangsters goes gold for 360, PC
If Boardwalk Empire has you itching to be a gangster in Prohibition-era Atlantic City, then Kalypso might have just the thing for you. The publisher has announced that Haemimont Games’ latest strategy title, Omerta – City of Gangsters, has gone gold and will launch for 360 and PC on February 12. Players will start off as a smalltime crook, but through recruiting a gang of their own, raiding their rivals’ territories, robbing banks, and battling it out in turn-based combat, they will climb the ranks and become a mob boss with their own syndicate.

Creative Assembly has released two new behind-the-scenes videos for their upcoming strategy title Total War: Rome II. The first video, The Unmaking of Carthage, details the new tactical map as well as how naval battles will be combined with land combat. The second video is a more laid-back discussion about unit and city variety with lead unit designer Jack Lusted.

The Eastern Front is calling again with the recently launched DLC pack Red Turn: The Road to Berlin 1943-45 for Unity of Command. The $9.99 expansion adds a 17-scenario Soviet campaign, two standalone Axis scenarios, including the Battle of Kursk, four dedicated player-versus-player scenarios, 39 units, new specialist steps, and the 1.04 scenario editor. Yargh! The Dawn of Pirates DLC pack is now available for Kalypso Media’s empire-builder Port Royale 3: Pirates & Merchants. The $4.99 expansion adds a new pirate-themed campaign, an Ironman difficulty mode, and an online leaderboard. As a pirate, players must raid and plunder cities and convoys in order to become the most notorious villain in the Caribbean.
