Gungnir now available in stores and on PSN for PSP, PS Vita
Even though the PS Vita is out, the ol’ PSP is still getting some much-needed attention. Fans of strategy-RPGs have another reason to break out the workhorse with the launch of Atlus’ Gungnir. The latest in Sting’s Dept. Heaven series, Gungnir follows the 2009/2010 shooter-RPG hybrid Knights in the Nightmare. And fear not Vita owners, you should be able to scratch that strategy itch as well because the PSN version “is also expected to be compatible with PlayStation Vita.”

New Little King’s Story heading to Vita this summer
In a bit of did-not-see-this-coming news, Konami has announced that they will be published a sequel to the 2009 Wii monarchical sim Little King’s Story. Scheduled to launch this summer for the PS Vita, New Little King’s Story will be a download-only release, offering players the chance to rule as King Corobo in his fight to reclaim his kingdom from the nefarious Devil King known as The Nightmare. Players will lead the king’s Royal Guard in combat, expand his territory, and journey throughout the land’s seven kingdoms.

Aksys announces, details Record of Agarest War 2 Limited Edition
PlayStation 3 gamers looking to scratch that strategy-RPG itch will be able to get their fix soon, courtesy of Aksys Games and Record of Agarest War 2. Not only that, but the company is looking to make an impression with a Limited Edition version that includes an array of unique extras, including an inflatable doll of Felenne, compressed 8 x 12″ hand towel*, and artbook.

Gungnir gets official website, new screenshots
The Atlus Machine is kicking into high gear as Gungnir nears its June 12 release. In addition to the game getting its own slice of the web, a new batch of screenshots have been released for the Sting-developed strategy-RPG. This is the second batch from the English version, with the first released earlier this month.

SpellForce 2 – Faith in Destiny delayed until June
Nordic Games has bowed to the power that is Diablo and delayed the launch of SpellForce 2′s second standalone add-on, Faith in Destiny. Originally scheduled to launch on May 15, Nordic has acknowledged that gamers, and they themselves, will be too busy slaying the minions of hell in Blizzard’s Diablo III and felt it best to hold off the release until June 19. While Nordic would like to launch sooner, they state that their internal schedule did not allow for an earlier release.

Atlus gets fancy with first shots from localized version of Gungnir
The first localized shots of Atlus and Sting’s upcoming tactical role-playing game, Gungnir, have been revealed. Scheduled to launch on June 12 for the PSP, Gungir features turn-based combat, decision points with branching progression paths, and 12 recruitable class types.

Total War: Shogun 2 gets two new DLC packs, Hattori and Blood Pack
It seems as though Creative Assembly’s been busy lately. Just after the recent announcement of the upcoming Fall of the Samurai standalone expansion, Sega has sent word that there are two new DLC packs available for download today. Now, all players will be able to play as the formerly Limited Edition-exclusive Hattori clan, as well as dismember and decapitate their foes’ armies with the Blood Pack DLC.

Total War: Shogun 2 – Fall of the Samurai DLC announced for 2012
Sega will be seeing the samurai off with an upcoming standalone expansion for Total War: Shogun 2, Fall of the Samurai. Set to launch next March, the DLC will see six new playable clans fighting alongside the Emperor or Shogun as Japan faces a turning point with the arrival of America, Britain, and France. A larger and “improved” campaign map will host new island provinces, while new building and tech trees will introduce railways and naval bombardments to the series plus 39 new units, 10 new ship types, and three new agent types.

GrimGrimoire now available as a PlayStation 2 Classic on PSN
Amongst the launch line-up of PlayStation 2 Classics in the newly inaugurated section on the PS Store is a colorful, whimsical strategy title, NIS’ GrimGrimoire. The 2007 release, co-developed with Vanillaware, is a 2D vertical strategy title where players guide the young magician Lillet in her quest to find out what happened to her vanished classmates.
