Disgaea, NIS’ long-running strategy-RPG series, will be returning this fall when Disgaea D2: A Brighter Darkness launches on October 8 for PS3. A Brighter Darkness will be celebrating 20 years of NIS and 10 years of Disgaea by bringing back Etna, Flonne, and Laharl from the first game in a new storyline about a disgruntled and disrespected Overlord. The Item World, Master/Pupil System, and the Geo elements will be returning, as well as a revamped character-creation system.

Atlus and Nintendo are teaming up to give owners of Fire Emblem Awakening and Shin Megami Tensei IV a special bonus: $30 in eShop credit. The only things owners need to do after purchasing both titles is register them at Club Nintendo and fill out a short web survey before August 31. The credit can be spent on anything, from DLC to full games. The promo kicks off when SMTIV launches on July 16, and both physical and digital copies are eligible for the credit.

Namco Bandai has released Project X Zone, a cross-over strategy-RPG exploding with fan service. After a rift tears open the borders between time and space, 200 characters from over 25 franchises from Capcom, Namco Bandai, and Sega find themselves teaming up and battling new villains in an attempt to restore order. Characters from Street Fighter, Tekken, Resonance of Fate, Dead Rising, Mega Man, Resident Evil, Virtua Fighter, and more will pair off and assist each other with such fighter-styled moves as Cross Hits, Support Attacks, and Special Attacks.

Project X Zone launching in June, LE announced, new media released

The upcoming crossover strategy role-playing game from Namco Bandai, Project X Zone, will be hitting store shelves on June 25. The coloration features over 50 characters from Capcom, Namco Bandai, and Sega franchises, including Street Fighter, Tekken, and Valkyria Chronicles, trying to seal a rift that’s merging their universes. Namco Bandai also announced that launch copies will be Limited Edition releases with a free mini-art book and soundtrack.
