Project X Zone 2 dated for Feb. 16, new characters, screens released

Bandai Namco has announced that Project X Zone 2 will be launching on February 16. Alongside the release date, several characters were also revealed. Joining the roster of the crossover turn-based strategy game are June Milliam from Star Gladiator and Captain Commando, courtesy of Capcom; Leanne, Vashyron, and Zephyr from Resonance of Fate and the one and only Segata Sanshiro, courtesy of Sega; and Heihachi Mishima from Tekken. Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance launching Oct. 6, screens released

Word has been sent from NIS HQ that Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance will be available on October 6. A Launch Day Edition will hit store shelves for pre-orders and first-run buyers. The set will include a 32-page art book, collector’s box, original soundtrack, and reversible cover. Over a dozen new translated screenshots were also released, give them a look below.

Ten Project X Zone 2 characters revealed, new screenshots up

Bandai Namco has release new screenshots from the upcoming tactical-RPG Project X Zone 2. The images reveal 10 of the characters to make up the latest cast, which will include many returning from the original as well as some new faces. Those featured are Ken and Ryu from Street Fighter, Maya Fey and Phoenix Wright from Ace Attorney, Gemini Sunrise and Sakura Shinguji from Sakura Wars, Axel Stone from Streets of Rage, Ciel Alencon and Nana Kazuki from God Eater 2, and Aty from Summon Night 3. Over a dozen shots in all have been posted, covering combat and dialog sequences.

Bandai Namco has officially revealed Project X Zone 2 and Saint Seiya: Soldiers’ Soul. Saint Seiya is heading to PC, PS3, and PS4, while Project X Zone will follows its predecessor to 3DS. While we don’t have a lot of details, we do have plenty of screenshots and two new trailers posted below.

Aksys has released a new hybrid visual novel and strategy role-playing game for PS3 and PS Vita, Tokyo Twilight Ghost Hunters. Up for download on PSN and en route to store shelves, Aksys’ latest has players take on the role of a new student at Kurenai Academy who suddenly finds themselves helping to protect Tokyo from evil spirits as a ghost hunter. Players must undertake 13 missions, planning their strategy and laying traps beforehand, and communicate with other characters to forge relationships that impact the storyline.

Worlds of Magic goes goooold for PC, announced for PS4

Wastelands Interactive has sent word that their 4X strategy title Worlds of Magic has gone gold for PC and will be available on March 19. Additionally, the studio has partnered up with Polish publisher Teyon to release a version for PlayStation 4 with plans on releasing it later this year. Wastelands noted that the console version will feature the same content as the PC version, which includes 80-plus units, three gameplay modes, over 400 spells, and eight races: High Man, Unhallowed, Gray Elves, Draconians, Orcs, Dwarves, Dark Elves and Myrodants.

Chilled Mouse brings Warhammer Quest to PC, now on Steam

Chilled Mouse has released Warhammer Quest for Linux, Mac, and Windows PC. The turn-based strategy game is based on Games Workshop’s board game, which pits a team of heroes against hordes of enemies scattered throughout the dungeons that dot the border of the Empire. Players can control and level up the Marauder, Wood Elf Waywatcher, Dwarf IronBreaker, and Grey Wizard as they battle Orcs, Night Goblins, River Trolls, and Skaven. Two versions are available, a $14.99 standard edition and a $27 expanded edition.

Disgaea will be making a return in 2015 with a new entry for PS4, Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance. The new story follows the rebel leader Killia, a young demon who is at war with the Overlord Void Dark to stop his enslavement of the Netherworlds. Additions include new areas of the Netherworlds to explore, the stat-boosting Revenge Mode, and Alliance Attacks with those characters who the players has formed strong bonds.

Atlus has released Tears to Tiara II: Heir of the Overlord, a new strategy-RPG for PS3. The sequel’s storyline is standalone, so no knowledge of its predecessor is necessary to jump into this one. As father of the famed Hannibal, Hamilcar Barca, players wage war against the Divine Empire after he witnesses the burning of an innocent girl. In his pursuit of vengeance, Hamilcar learns that he has an inner rage that can result in everyone’s destruction if he cannot control it. The US release comes with an estimated 80-plus hours of gameplay and visual-novel-style cutscenes, the original Japanese audio, and a first-run bundle that includes a 31-page art book.
