Cave’s Mushihimesama to launch on Steam on November 5

Degica has announced that Cave’s shooter Mushihimesama will hit Steam on November 5. Translated to Bug Princess in English, the bullet-hell-style vertical shooter puts players in the role of princess Reco during her journey to secure a cure for her people from the god of the insect-like Koju. Astride Kiniro, her golden beetle, players will have to battle less pleasant Koju in order to make it to Shinju Forest. The game will feature three game modes, online leaderboard support, and 1.5 DLC.

Night Dive Studios’ updated version of System Shock is now available through Steam. Released earlier this year on GOG, the 1994 original hybrid first-person shooter and role-playing game was updated to run on modern systems along with support for higher resolutions, mouselook, and remappable keys. This version also features trading cards and partial support for the Steam controller. Steam users can download a double pack of Enhanced Edition and the original, System Shock: Classic, for $7.99 (regularly $9.99).

The Tales series continues its run today with Tales of Zestiria for PC, PS3, and PS4. The latest installment features Sorey, a young adventurer who is attempting to become The Shepherd in an effort to rid the land of a corrupting force. Additions to the series include the ability to side dash in combat, as well as new combos accessible by fusing with Seraphim spirits for powerful elemental artes. Early buyers who purchase the game within the first 30 days will also get the epilogue chapter, Alisha’s Conviction, for free ($9.99 afterwards).

Degica releases Triangle Service’s vertical shooter Deltazeal for PC

PC gamers looking for some shooter action can now grab Triangle Service and Degica’s Deltazeal, the follow-up to Xiizeal, on Steam. The two titles make up the Shooting Love Anniversary set that debuted in Japanese arcades back in 2001. They also form the foundation for all of Triangle Service’s shooters, with Deltazeal featuring 10 power-up slots, combined weaponry, alternate routes, branching stage paths, and secret bosses. The soundtracks for both titles were also released as downloadable content, as was a pack containing both games and their respective soundtracks.

Bandai Namco has released a new set of screenshots of the multiplayer component from Dark Souls III. The 10 shots highlight the staples of the series, including dark spirit invasions, co-op summoning, bloodstains that replay a player’s death, messages left by others, and phantoms of others running through the same area. Several art pieces were also released for a number of builds: Academy Assassin, Herald of White, Northern Warrior, and Wandering Knight.

Square Enix authorizes Deus Ex – Revision mod, on Steam for free

Square Enix is celebrating Deus Ex’s 15th anniversary with a fan-created mod for the original Deus Ex. Released in 2000 by Caustic Creative, Revision updates the environments and the soundtrack. Brigador hitting Steam Early Access early, launching October 16

Final Fantasy V now available for Windows PC, Amazon Fire TV

Square Enix has released Final Fantasy V for PC via Steam. The latest version features improved graphics, with new material provided by character designer Kazuko Shibuya, optimized controls, and extra content from the 2006 Game Boy Advance re-release. Carried over from the handheld version are a new dungeon, The Sealed Temple, and an optional boss, Enuo. Steam achievements and trading cards are also supported. Additionally, Final Fantasy V and VI are now compatible with Amazon Fire TV. Everyone who purchased the games through Amazon’s Appstore can download the compatibility update for free.
