Dishonored 2 update adds custom difficulty settings, mission select

Arkane Studios has released the second free update for Dishonored 2. The latest download adds two new features: Custom Difficulty Settings and Mission Select. The former adds over 20 sliders for players to customize their game, adjusting everything from the number of enemies who will attack simultaneously to the speed of sleep darts. It will also add Iron Mode, which features permadeath and no manual saves. Mission Select allows for any mission to be unlocked once played, with the player’s status retained from the playthrough. The patch is available for all versions.

Dishonored 2 free update released, adds New Game Plus

An updated has gone live today adding New Game Plus to all versions of Dishonored 2. The mode allows players to use both Emily’s and Corvo’s move lists at the same time, regardless of the character they choose to re-play the campaign. In addition, players can reassign all of the Bonecharm Traits and Runes that were collected during the initial playthrough. The next free update is scheduled to launch in January, and is set to add Mission Select and Custom Difficulty.

Dishonored 2 to get free update next week with New Game Plus

Dishonored 2’s first free game update has been announced and dated for next week. Arkane is using the update to note only improve performance but to also add a new feature. Beginning Monday, and today as part of the beta update for PC, players can access New Game Plus. In the mode, accessible once the game has been completed, players will be able to access both Corvo’s and Emily’s ability sets as well as all Bonecharm Traits and Runes found during the playthrough. Two more features were announced to be added in January, as part of the second free update: Custom Difficulty Settings and Mission Select.

Styx explores Korrangar in new Styx: Shards of Darkness screens

Cyanide Studios has released some new screenshots from Styx: Shards of Darkness. The sequel to Master of Shadows, launching early 2017, once again finds Styx on a mission to acquire more Amber by doing what he does best: stealing. This time, it’s an ambassador’s scepter. The four screens showcase the Port of Korrangar, a heavily guarded waystation for airships. The sequel will feature a crafting system for traps and devices, a teleport ability, and an emphasis on non-linear play with an open-ended approach to tackling objectives.

Watch Dogs 2 launches online for Windows PC

Ubisoft has released the PC version of Watch Dogs 2. The computer version features a few system-specific extras, including support for 4K, ultra textures, multi-monitor support, uncapped FPS, three save slots, and the ability to add extra details. In clearing his name, Marcus uncovers a city-wide conspiracy, which causes him to help the hacktivist group DedSec. The group will combat security forces by hacking the city’s infrastructure and using their skills to complete missions using stealth or force.

After releasing earlier this week for pre-orders, Dishonored 2 is now available for all through retail and digital outlets. The assassin Corvo, protagonist of the original Dishonored, returns to fight alongside his daughter, Emily. The pair is in a battle to restore Emily to the throne, as they take down the usurper’s forces in the city of Karnaca.
