Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: India, Russia dated for early 2016

The Assassin’s Creed Chronicles trilogy will be wrapping up on February 9, according to Ubisoft. Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: India will go live on January 12 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, and Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: Russia on February 9. All three episodes will be bundled together in Assassin’s Creed Chronicles Trilogy Pack, which will also be available on February 9 digitally for PC, PS4, and Xbox One and in retail for PS4 and Xbox One. A PS Vita version is slated for April 5. Episodes are standalone but linked narratively, and can be purchased separately for $9.99.

London calls! Assassin’s Creed Syndicate out for PS4, Xbox One

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate is now available for PS4 and Xbox One. Set in London during the Industrial Revolution, players take on the role of Jacob and Evie Frye, twin Master Assassins, in an effort to free London one district at a time from the grip of the Templars. Syndicate adds new skills and weapons, including a rope launcher, brass knuckles, a kukri knife, and a sword cane. PlayStation 4 owners have access to 10 exclusive missions, The Dreadful Crimes, that are inspired by the Penny Dreadful stories. Players must track down clues and question witnesses to solve a series of crimes. All players will receive two free costumes in November, a steampunk-styled outfit for Evie and The Creature’s Rags outfit for Jacob.

A new story trailer has been released for Assassin’s Creed Syndicate. Set in London during the Industrial Revolution, players will take on the role of twin Master Assassins Jacob and Evie Frye to liberate the city from a group of strongmen. The footage highlights each of the seven Templars under Crawford Starrick’s sway that hold power in different sectors of society. Ten new screenshots were also released alongside the trailer.

A new Hideo Kojima-created launch trailer has gone live for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. The video runs a little over five minutes and features cutescene clips as well as gameplay footage, along with sections from earlier titles, going back to the first Metal Gear Solid. A few additional details were also released about the Companion App. The PS4 and Xbox One download will connect with the game to act as a second screen to display a separate map as well as allow access to any map at any time, and it will play all collected records and music. The app will be available on September 1.

Assassin’s Creed Chronicles Trilogy to go to China, India, and Russia

Ubisoft has announced the next three titles in the Assassin’s Creed line, and all will be released as part of the Chronicles trilogy. Each release will follow a different assassin in a 2.5D adventure, with the first entry set to take players to China on April 21. The characters are from other properties within the franchise, from the animated short Assassin’s Creed Embers (Shao Jun) and graphic novels (Arbaaz Mir, Nikolaï Orelov). The trilogy will be tied together, but each game will not only adopt its own art style but also be set in different periods, including the Ming dynasty, Sikh Empire, and shortly after the Red October revolution.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain release date, editions detailed

After some recent speculation, Konami has confirmed that Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will be available on September 1 for console and September 15 for PC. It was also announced that the game will be available as a $59.99 Day 1 Edition or, for PS4 and Xbox One, a $99.99 Collector’s Edition. The Day 1 Edition will come with downloadable items, including a special cardboard box and a silver personal ballistic shield, while the Collector’s Edition will come packed with access to more DLC as well as a collectible steelbook, a behind-the-scenes Blu-ray, and half-scale replica of Snake’s bionic arm. Free Assassin’s Creed Unity DLC pack Dead Kings now available

Ubisoft has released a free downloadable pack for Assassin’s Creed Unity, Dead Kings. Set after Unity, players control Arno as he explores the catacombs and caves of modern-day Saint Denis. Using a lantern to light his path, he will have to navigate subterranean traps and puzzles as he battles new enemies, the Raiders, while unlocking the new Guillotine Gun and meeting historical notables along the way, such as Napoleon and the Marquis de Sade. Side quests also offer the chance for players to take part in enigmas, co-op missions (a heist and a Brotherhood mission), and investigate new Murder Mysteries. Unlocks gained in single and co-op modes can be brought over to Unity.
