The 2012 side-scrolling survival-horror title Deadlight returns today in Deadlight: Director’s Cut for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The revamped version includes updated graphics, improved controls, and a new mode, Survival Arena Mode. The arena pits players against hordes of enemies and hosts strange weapons as well as interactive defenses. Both console versions also feature a new ending for those who are able to complete the game’s Nightmare Mode. As Randall Wayne, players find themselves in an alternate 1986 where they must solve puzzles, sneak around, and battle zombies throughout the ruins of Seattle as they search for their family.

The first goblin returns in Styx: Shards of Darkness for console, PC

Styx is showing the goods from his upcoming title Shards of Darkness in a new E3 trailer. The sequel to Master of Shadows finds Styx taking on a new assignment for Helledryn, an enigmatic human officer stationed in Thoben, the City of Thieves. The target is the ambassador’s scepter, a prized object that others are looking to steal for themselves. If Styx can get his hands on it, he’ll get some of the magical amber that fuels his powers. The different races require different skills as each excels in their own areas, with Dark Elves being expert goblin hunters and Dwarves having an excellent sense of smell. To handle them, players will have access to numerous powers, talents, crafting, and equipment. And assassination, there’s always that.

Batman: Return to Arkham bringing updated Asylum, City to console

Batman is joining the re-release procession with Batman: Return to Arkham. The two-title bundle will include remastered versions of Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City. The Rocksteady Studios-developed entries are being updated by Virtuos using Unreal Engine 4. Both titles will come with all of the bonus content released in their respective Game of the Year editions as well as all downloadable content. Graphically, players can look forward to improved models, effects, environments, and shaders.

Dishonored 2 coming out of the shadows on Nov. 11 for console, PC

Arkane Studios will be returning to Dunwall this November with Dishonored 2. Scheduled to launch on Friday, November 11, Dishonored 2 will once again put players in the shoes of infamous assassin Corvo Attano, but now players will get the chance to play as his royal charge, Empress Emily Kaldwin. Combat will once again feature a mixture of melee, medium- and long-range arms, and supernatural powers. Missions also have a branching structure, with the story shifting in response to the player’s actions. More details are in the current digital issue of Game Informer, while gameplay will premiere during Bethesda’s 2016 E3 Showcase, which will be streamed at 9 p.m. (CST) on June 12 on Twitch and Youtube.

MGO – Cloaked in Silence launching March 15, Survival mode in April

Metal Gear V’s Quiet will be getting her time in the limelight later this month when her Metal Gear Online add-on goes live on March 15. The expansion will add three new maps—Azure Mountain, Coral Complex, and Rust Palace—as well as the popular support partner Quiet as a playable character. She will have a temporary cloak, a speed boost, and the ability to jump over high steps and ladders. Additionally, a new mode, Survival, will be added on April 7. Teams will compete to last the longest, with rewards improving the longer their win streak. The new maps will be playable in Survival for everyone, but there will be a limit of 10 tries per week, with the limit reset every Tuesday. Of course, players who buy the add-on will have unlimited access to them.

The Church in the Darkness announced by State of Decay developer

State of Decay developer Paranoid Productions has announced their latest project, The Church in the Darkness. Centered on the cult movement of the 1970s, and featuring the actors behind GLaDOS and Team Fortress 2’s Sniper, the game tasks players with infiltrating a cult and sussing out who is and isn’t a threat. Players take on the role of a former law enforcement officer who decides to head down to South America and break into Freedom Town to check on their sister’s well-being. The developers also noted that they will be utilizing alternating personalities and a fluctuating narrative to ensure that each playthrough is different.

Metal Gear Online – Cloaked in Silence, more DLC announced

Metal Gear Online, the multiplayer component to The Phantom Pain, will be receiving a new campaign this March. The downloadable pack, Cloaked in Silence, will add three maps, a new character, and other, undefined extra content. The maps include Coral Complex, a Motherbase environment that is dominated by tall towers and cover-friendly storage containers; Rust Palace, a dilapidated multilevel building in Afghanistan; and Azure Mountain, a largely open plain located in Africa. The add-on will also unlock Quiet as a playable character. She will be able to jump over high steps, instead of using ladders, temporarily cloak, and engage a speed boost. Appeal Action character poses will also be on offer. All for-pay content will be supplemented with a free update that will add the new competitive mission Sabotage.

Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: India, Russia dated for early 2016

The Assassin’s Creed Chronicles trilogy will be wrapping up on February 9, according to Ubisoft. Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: India will go live on January 12 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One, and Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: Russia on February 9. All three episodes will be bundled together in Assassin’s Creed Chronicles Trilogy Pack, which will also be available on February 9 digitally for PC, PS4, and Xbox One and in retail for PS4 and Xbox One. A PS Vita version is slated for April 5. Episodes are standalone but linked narratively, and can be purchased separately for $9.99.

London calls! Assassin’s Creed Syndicate out for PS4, Xbox One

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate is now available for PS4 and Xbox One. Set in London during the Industrial Revolution, players take on the role of Jacob and Evie Frye, twin Master Assassins, in an effort to free London one district at a time from the grip of the Templars. Syndicate adds new skills and weapons, including a rope launcher, brass knuckles, a kukri knife, and a sword cane. PlayStation 4 owners have access to 10 exclusive missions, The Dreadful Crimes, that are inspired by the Penny Dreadful stories. Players must track down clues and question witnesses to solve a series of crimes. All players will receive two free costumes in November, a steampunk-styled outfit for Evie and The Creature’s Rags outfit for Jacob.

Set in London during the Industrial Revolution, players will take on the role of twin Master Assassins Jacob and Evie Frye to liberate the city from a group of strongmen. The footage highlights each of the seven Templars under Crawford Starrick’s sway that hold power in different sectors of society. Ten new screenshots were also released alongside the trailer.
