Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration revealed, including PS4

Rise of the Tomb Raider will be making its way to PS4 this fall in Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration. Scheduled to launch on October 11, alongside updates for PC and Xbox One, the set will include the original game, an additional story chapter titled Blood Ties, Endurance co-op mode, and all downloadable content. The drops add 35-plus Expedition Cards, 12 outfits, and seven weapons. Blood Ties, which will support PSVR, sees Lara back in Croft Manor as she tries to find proof of ownership to resolve a dispute with her uncle. Then, in Lara’s Nightmare, she must defend the manor … from zombies. Endurance challenges teams of two to surviving the elements by day and enemies by night for as long as possible, with results posted to a leaderboard. Classic Lara skins can also be found in new packs. PC and Xbox One Season Pass holders will receive all new content as part of the pass.

Digital RPG I Am Setsuna launches on Steam and PSN for PC, PS4

Tokyo RPG Factory’s debut title, I am Setsuna, has launched digitally for PC and PS4. Inspired by Square Enix’s 16-bit catalog, the game follows Setsuna and her bodyguards—Endir, Kuon, and Yomi—as they set out from her hometown on a mission to save her people. In keeping with the studio’s focus on the past, the game utilizes a combat system inspired by the classic Chrono Trigger.

I Am Setsuna character, environment watercolors released

While not screenshots, Square Enix has released some new media for their upcoming role-playing game I Am Setsuna. A handful of watercolors were sent out to offer players a first look at some of the environments that Setsuna will explore alongside her bodyguards Aeterna and Nidr. The duo, along with a few other characters, are also subjects of a few pieces themselves. Additionally, the studio announced pre-order incentives, with PS4 players receiving two dynamic system themes (Kuro for nighttime and Shiro for daytime) and an exclusive digital track, Eternal Winter, by composer Tomoki Miyoshi. PC players will receive a different track, The Warmth of Hope, through Steam.

Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness launches for PS4

tri-Ace’s long-running role-playing series Star Ocean returns today with Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness. The PS4-exclusive adventure is set between The Second Story and Till the End of Time, and centuries after mankind has left Earth for the Faykreed star system. As swordsman Fidel Camuze and Miki Sauvester, his longtime friend, players must protect the Kingdom of Resulia from civil unrest while avoiding a potential war with neighboring realms.

Nier: Automata to launch in early 2017, gets new E3 trailer

During E3, Square Enix released a new trailer for Nier: Automata alongside news that it will be launching in early 2017. Currently in co-development with Platinum Games, Automata will take place in the far future after alien ‘machine lifeforms’ have overrun the world, forcing mankind to escape to the moon. Players will follow the androids 2B, 9S, and A2 in their quest to destroy the machines. 2B is the main character, a sword-wielding battle droid built for the infantry squad YoRHa that is backed by a Pod support system for long-range combat. Deus Ex: Mankind Divided – Breach, Go revealed with screens, trailers

The Deus Ex Universe is expanding by two new titles, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided – Breach and Deus Ex Go. Breach is a new mode that will be in Mankind Divided that will offer an arcade-style mini-game where players take on the role of a Ripper. As a digital thief, players must break into servers to steal classified corporate info to sell for cash and experience. It will also be a live mode with new challenges and features being added after release. Deus Ex Go is a turn-based puzzle game for phones and tablets that centers on infiltration. As Adam Jensen, players will hack, fight, and use augments to solve puzzles of the Go series to learn more about a terrorist plot. Trailers and screens for both have been posted below, along with some new shots from the recently streamed Mankind Divided demo.

Square Enix teams up with Milestone for Ride 2 for console, PC

Milestone S.r.l. has announced that their next motorcycle racer, Ride 2, will launch digitally this fall for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The Square Enix-published release will feature greater customization options for bike and rider, 220-plus motorcycles, new categories with the addition of Two Strokes and Supermotards, and new tracks, including Nürburgring Nordschleife and Northwest 200. New modes are also planned, but details on those won’t be revealed until closer to launch.

E3 Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue screens, trailer out

A new gameplay trailer has gone live for Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue. The video features one of the original Keyblade wielders, Aqua, in her war against the Heartless. The battle highlighted is in a new playable episode of Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep – A fragmentary passage-, which is included in the compilation. The episode will also offer a glimpse at what’s in store in Kingdom Hearts III. E3 attendees will get a chance to try Final Chapter Prologue for themselves next week at Square Enix’s booth.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided gameplay, announcement stream tomorrow

Square Enix is set to show a new gameplay demo for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided tomorrow. Beginning at 10:30 a.m. (CST) on the game’s official Twitch channel, 18 minutes of gameplay footage will be revealed as well as news about upcoming Deus Ex-related projects. The demo will feature the city-hub of Prague along with a few side quests.

World of Final Fantasy dated for October 25, trailer, screens released

Square Enix has announced that World of Final Fantasy will be available on October 25 for PS4 and PS Vita. Coinciding with the news is the release of a new localized trailer, which shows more of the escapades of twins Reynn and Lann. In the game, the duo will explore Grymoire in search of a cure to their amnesia. Along the way, they will fight monsters so that they can capture and raise them. The game is said to combine “classic RPG gameplay mechanics with fresh and imaginative toy-like visuals to welcome both fans and newcomers to the series.”
