Square Enix has released a new trailer, along with a batch of screenshots, for their upcoming action role-playing title Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree’s Woe and the Blight Below. The latest video, King Doric’s Royal Overview Trailer, features the king detailing various aspects of the game, including the heroes, party creation, monster metals, alchemy, and shopping, to prepare the player for their upcoming battle against the land’s crazed monsters. Stateside players will have even more to handle, as the North American version will include all of the downloadable content released in Japan.

Final Fantasy V now available for Windows PC, Amazon Fire TV

Square Enix has released Final Fantasy V for PC via Steam. The latest version features improved graphics, with new material provided by character designer Kazuko Shibuya, optimized controls, and extra content from the 2006 Game Boy Advance re-release. Carried over from the handheld version are a new dungeon, The Sealed Temple, and an optional boss, Enuo. Steam achievements and trading cards are also supported. Additionally, Final Fantasy V and VI are now compatible with Amazon Fire TV. Everyone who purchased the games through Amazon’s Appstore can download the compatibility update for free.

Final Fantasy XV gets revamped Dawn trailer, plus new screens

Square Enix has released an updated trailer for Final Fantasy XV, Dawn Trailer 2.0. The new version features Luna and Noctis remembering the past tragedies that set the storyline in motion. Another video was also released, which follows the development team as they scout locations to model in-game, as well as a handful of new screenshots that feature fishing and the crew on chocobos. The upcoming Active Time Report will reveal more details about what the team’s been working on, including the game’s showing at Tokyo Game Show, on Friday at Square Enix’s official Youtube channel.

New gameplay trailer, screenshots released for World of Final Fantasy

Square Enix revealed a new trailer for World of Final Fantasy during Sony’s press conference at Tokyo Game Show. The trailer follows siblings Lann and Reynn as they explore Grymoire and come across several characters and monsters from the Final Fantasy universe. The two will be able to capture and raise creatures, called Mirages, during the quest, as well as raise and train them to unlock alternate forms and new abilities. Twenty screenshots have also been added alongside the trailer.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided dated, tiered pre-order program revealed

Square Enix has revealed that Deus Ex: Mankind Divided will be released on February 23 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. A pre-order promotion was also detailed, titled Augment Your Pre-Order. Similar to the approach taken with Drakengard 3, items are added as tier goals are met through pre-order sales. In this case, the extras will be available in the Day One Edition. Early buyers will not only be able to select which items they want from unlocked tiers, but they will also be given the chance to bump up the release date by four days. For those wanting a bit more, a Collector’s Edition will come with a 48-page art book, a 9” Adam Jensen figure, and a steelbook, in addition to all to the regular pre-order bonuses and a copy of the Day One Edition.

To a few (dignified) squeals from the staff, Square Enix announced that Nier is returning for PS4. The working title is Nier New Project, and as with the previous titles in the universe, including the Drakengard series, the game will be an action-heavy role-playing game. Only this time, PlatinumGames will be assisting by “amplifying the action-oriented combat and building a beautifully diverse visual experience that will fully harness the graphical power of the PlayStation 4 system.”

Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree’s Woe and the Blight Below will be released on October 13 as a Day One Edition and a Slime Collector’s Edition. The Day One Edition will come bundled with a code for downloadable equipment, and the Slime Collector’s Edition will add to the Day One’s downloadables a slime plushie, slime keychain, slime lanyard, and even more downloadable content, including bonus quest items and Slime-themed goodies. A full list is available below. The Day One Edition is the standard retail price of $59.99, while the Slime Collector’s Edition is a Square Enix Online Store exclusive for $99.99. Final Fantasy X/X2-HD Remaster now available for PS4

Final Fantasy X/X2-HD Remaster has officially made the jump from PS3 to PS4. As with the previous-gen version, the Remaster set includes Final Fantasy X, Final Fantasy X: Eternal Calm cinematic, Final Fantasy X-2, Final Fantasy X-2: Last Mission playable mission, and a 30-minute audio drama narrated by the characters that details the events after X-2. The latest version sports a new remastered soundtrack that can be swapped with the original on the fly, visual upgrades for more monsters and non-playable characters, and the ability to transfer saves across the PS3 and PS Vita versions. A new dynamic theme, To Zanarkand, is also available on PS Store for $3.49, which features the song playing over a campfire scene.
