Square Enix has released the second installment of the ongoing livestream series The Star Log for Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness. The latest stream focused on the battle system, which included a new battle system trailer and a message from producer Shuichi Kobayashi. Gameplay was also debuted that showcased combos, character swapping, and long-range attacks. Square Enix has kicked off The Star Log, a new live stream focusing on Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness. The debut features a new story trailer that follows Fidel and company protecting the mysterious Relia, character spotlight videos, and details about the dual-audio options for English and Japanese. The third download pack for Rise of the Tomb Raider, Cold Darkness Awakened, has been dated for March 29. After a Cold War-era research facility is breached in Siberia, a deadly virus is unleashed that turns Trinity’s soldiers into maniacal killers. Players must guide Lara through the base in order to find and destroy the source of the virus.

Just Cause 3: Sky Fortress now available for non-Season Pass-ers

The first pack from Just Cause 3’s Air, Land, and Sea Expansion Pass, Sky Fortress, is now available for all players. The drop contains a new set of missions that revolve around a new enemy, the eDEN Corporation. Based out of their Sky Fortress, the corporation commands an army of robotic drones that need to be tackled before the leaders can be brought down. Rico has access to several new weapons to handle the threat, including a new upgradeable, rocket-powered Bavarium Wingsuit that sports machine guns and missiles, a Bavarium Splitter assault rifle, and the new Eviction defense drone.

Square Enix bringing I Am Setsuna stateside for PC and PS4

Square Enix’s announced at this year’s Game Developers Conference that Tokyo RPG Factory’s I am Setsuna is coming to North America for PC and PS4. The stated goal of the studio is to “capture the narrative depth, impactful storytelling and masterful character development inspired by the golden era of Japanese role-playing games and bring them to current hardware and technology.” To that end, they will be drawing on Square Enix’s past with I Am Setsuna by utilizing a combat system inspired by Chrono Trigger. More details should be coming along shortly.

Rise of the Tomb Raider has ventured beyond the Xbox family and has hit digital outlets for PC. Ported by Nixxes Software, the PC version supports enhanced graphics options, including 4K resolution, Pure Hair tech, new weather and foliage effects, and greater draw distances.

Dontnod’s episodic adventure title Life is Strange is now available in physical form for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. As high school senior (and resident time manipulator) Max Caulfield, players team up with friend Chloe Price to investigate the disappearance of another student in Arcadia Bay. Two versions are on offer, with the standard edition featuring all five episodes, and a Limited Edition, which also includes a 32-page art book, a music CD with 14 licensed tracks and 8 tracks from the game’s composer, and a directors’ commentary.

PC gamers itching to raid some tombs are in luck as Square Enix has announced that Rise of the Tomb Raider will be hitting Windows 10 later this month, on January 28. The PC version is being co-developed with Nixxes Software, and for those with the rigs, will support 4K resolution. The download-only release will be available in three versions: standard for $59.99, Digital Deluxe edition (with Season Pass) for $89.99, and Collector’s Edition (with Season Pass, 12-inch Lara Croft statue, replica of Lara’s journal and necklace, and steel case) for $149.99 from Square Enix’s online store.

Square Enix released a new trailer for Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue at Jump Festa 2015 in Japan. Included in the packed five-minute-long video are new scenes from the extra Birth by Sleep playable episode A Fragmentary Passage, the HD movie Back x [chi] Cover, and remastered gameplay from Dream Drop Distance. And squeezed in at the end is a snippet of new combat footage from Kingdom Hearts III.
