Deus Ex: Mankind Divided dated, tiered pre-order program revealed

Square Enix has revealed that Deus Ex: Mankind Divided will be released on February 23 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. A pre-order promotion was also detailed, titled Augment Your Pre-Order. Similar to the approach taken with Drakengard 3, items are added as tier goals are met through pre-order sales. In this case, the extras will be available in the Day One Edition. Early buyers will not only be able to select which items they want from unlocked tiers, but they will also be given the chance to bump up the release date by four days. For those wanting a bit more, a Collector’s Edition will come with a 48-page art book, a 9” Adam Jensen figure, and a steelbook, in addition to all to the regular pre-order bonuses and a copy of the Day One Edition.

Final Fantasy Type-0 HD is now on Steam for Windows PC. The PC version is said to more closely represent the director’s vision, adding new gameplay features and PC specific add-ons to the world. Other enhancements include an improved battle camera, scalable motion-blur settings, options for increased resolution, and support for controllers. Deus Ex creators Chris Norden, Sheldon Pacotti, and Warren Spector play through their groundbreaking title in a new video from Square Enix. The trio offer insight into the game’s development as well as dig into their memory banks for some anecdotes and secrets. The one-hour Let’s Play is a part of the buildup to the franchise’s 15th anniversary, and the first of several planned events. To a few (dignified) squeals from the staff, Square Enix announced that Nier is returning for PS4. The working title is Nier New Project, and as with the previous titles in the universe, including the Drakengard series, the game will be an action-heavy role-playing game. Only this time, PlatinumGames will be assisting by “amplifying the action-oriented combat and building a beautifully diverse visual experience that will fully harness the graphical power of the PlayStation 4 system.”

Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree’s Woe and the Blight Below will be released on October 13 as a Day One Edition and a Slime Collector’s Edition. The Day One Edition will come bundled with a code for downloadable equipment, and the Slime Collector’s Edition will add to the Day One’s downloadables a slime plushie, slime keychain, slime lanyard, and even more downloadable content, including bonus quest items and Slime-themed goodies. Final Fantasy X/X2-HD Remaster now available for PS4

Final Fantasy X/X2-HD Remaster has officially made the jump from PS3 to PS4. As with the previous-gen version, the Remaster set includes Final Fantasy X, Final Fantasy X: Eternal Calm cinematic, Final Fantasy X-2, Final Fantasy X-2: Last Mission playable mission, and a 30-minute audio drama narrated by the characters that details the events after X-2. The latest version sports a new remastered soundtrack that can be swapped with the original on the fly, visual upgrades for more monsters and non-playable characters, and the ability to transfer saves across the PS3 and PS Vita versions. A new dynamic theme, To Zanarkand, is also available on PS Store for $3.49, which features the song playing over a campfire scene.

Just Cause 3 gameplay trailer goes boom, reveals pre-order DLC

Avalanche has released some new gameplay footage from Just Cause 3. The video features protagonist Rico Rodriguez blowing anything and everything he comes across on Medici island in his war against General Di Ravello. The end of the trailer features a glimpse at the Weaponised Vehicle Pack, a free pre-order download pack that adds three luxury vehicles.

Final Fantasy IV: The After Years launching next month for PC

Final Fantasy IV: The After Years will be hitting Steam on May 12, according to Square Enix. The After Years is a direct sequel to Final Fantasy IV, set almost 20 years later and spanning ten chapters, but wasn’t available in English until 2011. The PC version is based on the mobile phone release that went live in Japan in 2008, which came out stateside for PlayStation Portable. The Steam version will include achievements, trading cards, and updated visuals.

Final Fantasy Type-0 HD ships a million, FFXV feedback in focus

Final Fantasy Type-0 HD has shipped over a million units, according to Square Enix. The studio also announced that they will be hosting a player feedback special about Final Fantasy XV on an upcoming Active Time Report with director Hajime Tabata based on community feedback from Episode Duscae. Scheduled to begin on 1 p.m. (CST) April 27, the new episode will discuss the type of comments received and the development team’s plans on how they will address concerns and suggestions. Feedback can still be submitted here, until May 19.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided announced for console and PC, trailer up

Square Enix has revealed Eidos Montreal’s follow-up to Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. The sequel is in development for PC, PS4, and Xbox One and will take place two years after the events in Human Revolution, with humanity split between those with and those without augments. Players will once again take on the role of Adam Jensen, who is now an anti-terrorist agent with even more powerful augments, as he tries to navigate and uncover the mysterious forces who are attempting to manipulate the divided public.
