Endless Space 2 set to hit Steam Early Access next month

Amplitude will be bringing their latest 4X strategy titles, Endless Space 2, to Steam Early Access next month. The studio also revealed a new faction trailer with the Lumeris being the latest to join the galactic roster. The Lumeris are an amphibious people that have, as with some lovable big-earned aliens from another franchise, developed a society that focuses on trade and acquisition. A handful of families manage the various elements of their economy, with a balance kept to ensure that no single family gains too much power. The Lumeris are one of eight planned factions, four of which will be available in the Early Access version.

Everspace to enter early access for PC, Xbox One on September 14

Rockfish Games is planning on releasing their roguelike space-based shooter Everspace on Steam Early Access, GOG’s Games in Development, and Preview Program for Xbox One and PC on September 14. The Kickstarter-backed titled raised over $750,000, and will be the first title on Xbox Preview Program on Windows 10, supporting both cross-save and cross-buy. The early version will feature six sectors, with a final sector, two additional unique player ships, and different starting gear slated to be added later this year. Homeworld: Remastered Collection updated, added to GOG

Homeworld: Remastered Collection has been given an overhaul in a new update, and has been added to GOG.com. Gearbox Software has released a new patch for the space-based real-time strategy series that includes bug fixes for single and multiplayer, more reactive and flexible formations, adjusted ballistic flight behavior so ships can overshoot and hit friendly units, targeting tweaks to make stationary units more vulnerable, and performance improvements. Modding has also been made easier with new controls and features. For those who use GOG Galaxy, the client supports achievements and multiplayer.

Double Damage Games’ space-based action role-playing game Rebel Galaxy has launched for Xbox One. Already available for PC and PS4, Rebel Galaxy is described as a “swashbuckling space opera” that allows players to explore a sandbox-style open game world as they acquire ships, upgrade their crafts’ capabilities, and interact with aliens. Players can take on the role of a merchant, privateer, or resident celestial good guy as they negotiate, trade, and hunt pirates.

Starpoint Gemini 2, a space sim and role-playing hybrid, has launched for Xbox One. Set against the backdrop of a mysterious event causing the Empire to halt at the Starpoint and cease finishing the remnants of the Gemini League, players will enter the scene as a ship captain surrounded by enemies. In time, they will be able to command a fleet of everything from agile gunships to massive carriers, battling in real-time combat and exploring a dynamic universe. The game features 50 factions, 100 commodities to trade or steal, 70-plus upgradeable ships, mercenaries, randomly generated missions based on actions and treaties, and a role-playing system. The Xbox One version sports a new save-anywhere system, redesigned interface, and no load screens.

Adr1ft trailer teases at what awaits Commander Oshima

505 Games has released a new trailer for Three One Zero’s upcoming adventure title Adr1ft. The trailer, created in conjunction with Blur Studio, gives a quick look at Commander Alex Oshima as she dodges debris that used to be a part of her former habitat, Hardiman Aerospace Northstar IV. Players will need to help Oshima as she struggles to survive and make it back to Earth after a recent disaster leaves her alone and adrift in space.

Vic Viper flies again! Gradius V launches on PSN for PS3

Homeworld Remastered Collection intro, HR2 story trailers released

Gearbox has released some additional trailers for Homeworld Remastered Collection. A story trailer for Homeworld 2 Remastered has gone live, which follows last week’s Homeworld Remastered story trailer, as well as an introduction to the series. An Introduction to Homeworld catches new players up to speed and refreshes returning veterans on the games’ mechanics, ship types, and controls.

Dreadnought gets a 10-minute gameplay video, narrated by devs

Grey Box and Yager have released a 10-plus-minute-long gameplay video from their upcoming action title Dreadnought. The video is narrated by two of the game’s designers, Eino Joas and Timm Boukoura, who talk players through the special abilities, ships, and tactics they are utilizing in their battle against one another as members of opposing teams. The two fight on the glacier map, which was playable recently at PAX South, using the Light Destroyer and the Light Tactical Cruiser, while an Artillery Cruiser, Corvette, and Dreadnought engage in the background. In all, a decent peek at what’s to come later this year.

‘First-person experience’ Adr1ft revealed in new trailer, screens

505 Games has released a new trailer and screenshots from One Zero’s Adr1ft. In the upcoming ‘first-person experience’ title, players awake to find themselves floating in space, surrounded by the debris of a space station. They must scavenge the wreckage to find parts to repair their damaged EVA as well as what’s left of the space station, and in the process, find out what caused the accident.
