Ace Combat Infinity, Soulcalibur Lost Swords pass 1-million mark

Ace Combat Infinity, the series’ first free-to-play entry, passed the one-million-download mark during May, according to Bandai Namco. To celebrate, Project Aces will gift every player who checks their notification about the commemoration before August 18 a free special aircraft, the Mirage 2000-5 -White Tiger-. The studio’s other free-to-play title, Soulcalibur Lost Swords, also surpassed one million downloads. A One Million Download Campaign was kicked off in honor of the milestone, and from July 9 to 23, players will be able to battle through a new campaign as well as take on special quests to unlock Ivy, Astaroth, and gift items.

Bandai Namco announces Grid Autosport, Tales of Hearts R, more

Bandai Namco has announced a slew of new titles across all platforms. Some of the highlights include the development of Grid Autosport for 360, PC, and PS3, the localization of both Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment and Tales of Hearts R for PS Vita, and details about Tales of Xillia 2’s $130 Collector’s Edition. New Soulcalibur Lost Swords screens reveal the return of Hilde

Souls reignite as Soulcalibur II HD Online launches for 360, PS3

Namco Bandai has announced that Soulcalibur II HD Online is now live for 360 and PS3. The Project Soul-developed port includes updated visuals, online multiplayer, and two of the three console-exclusive characters from the 2003 original: Heihachi and Spawn. The re-release features seven modes in total, which include Arcade, Survival, VS Battle, Time Attack, Team Battle, Practice, and Weapon Master.

Namco Bandia has released the first round of screenshots from their upcoming free-to-play fighter Soulcalibur Lost Swords. The singleplayer-only download will feature a handful of new abilities, and the shots show a few of these in action: the Soul Break moves that can break armor, the powerful Weapon Arts attacks, and the Character Support system, which allows players to call in friends’ characters to give them a hand.

Soulcalibur II HD Online to reignite souls on November 19 and 20

Namco Bandai has announced that Soulcalibur II HD Online will be launching on November 19 for PS3 and on November 20 for 360. The $19.99 release will not only include updated visuals and support for online play, but it will also feature two of the three characters that were console exclusives when the game originally launched in 2003: Heihachi and Spawn. Several new gameplay trailers were also released and are available below.

Free-to-play fighter Soulcalibur Lost Swords announced for PS3

Namco Bandai is expanding their line of free-to-play titles later this year with Soulcalibur Lost Swords. Lost Swords, along with Ace Combat Infinity, Ridge Racer Driftopia, and Tekken Revolution, will be a free download via PSN for PlayStation 3. In Lost Swords, players will be able to utilize a new forging system to craft elemental-based weapons from discovered items as well as those scavenged from defeated opponents. Unlike most free-to-play titles, Lost Swords will be single-player only.

Soulcalibur fans looking forward to Soulcalibur II HD Online received some good news today. Namco Bandai has announced that two of the three console-specific bonus characters that were released with the original 2003 home versions, Tekken’s Heihachi and comic antihero Spawn, will be included with the upcoming 360 and PS3 downloads. The only fighter left to be added from the original lineup is the GameCube-exclusive character, Zelda’s Link.

Soulcalibur II will soon be a decade old, and Namco Bandai has announced that they will celebrating with a new, updated version: Soulcalibur II HD Online. The download-only release will be available for 360 and PS3, and feature enhanced visuals, netcode overseen by the Project Soul team, and new online modes. The original mode set will also return: Arcade, Survival, Vs Battle, Time Attack, Survival, Team Battle, Practice, and Weapon Master. No word on if any of the system-specific characters from the original home releases will be returning (fingers crossed for Link!).
