Activision is preparing to open ticket sales for Call of Duty XP 2016, “the biggest Call of Duty fan event in history.” Running from September 2-4 in Los Angeles, the Call of Duty World League will host the final teams for $2 million in prizes at the Call of Duty World League Championship. The event will also feature hands-on demos of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered multiplayer,and new downloadable content for Call of Duty: Black Ops III. There will also be exhibits, developer panels, a surprise musical guest, paintball in a life-sized replica of Black Ops’ Nuketown map, Zombies laser tag, and the first Call of Duty VR experience that will include piloting a Jackal. Tickets will go on sale at noon (CST) on June 11 for $49, $129, and $199. Full details are below. PC and PlayStation gamers will be able to download Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare’s first DLC pack, Havoc, on February 26. The inaugural add-on features four multiplayer maps (Core, Drift, Sideshow, and Urban), the AE4 energy assault rifle, the AE4 Widowmaker variant, and most importantly, Exo Zombies. Havoc is already available for Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Full details can be found below.
A new gameplay trailer has launched for Exo Zombies, one of the additions from the upcoming Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare DLC pack Havoc. The gameplay clip runs a little over two minutes and features the latest actors to join the series, including Bill Paxton and John Malkovich, mixing it up with a variety of exo-suit-powered zombies and mutant dogs. The Havoc pack is set to launch first for Xbox on January 27.
Activision and Xbox have announced details for the third annual Call of Duty Championship. The event will take place from March 27 to 29 in Los Angeles between the 32 teams from around in the world in a tournament to be crowned World Champions. A $1 million prize purse is at stake, and the final match will be live streamed on Xbox Live. Qualifying matches will be played online using Xbox One systems and broadcast on MLG.tv. Activision has released a new trailer for the upcoming Exo Zombies mode for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. The footage marks the debut of Jon Bernthal, Rose McGowan, John Malkovich, and Bill Paxton as Atlas employees who are left to face the undead hordes. The first chapter will be bundled with the Havoc DLC pack, set to launch first for Xbox One in January .
Sledgehammer has revealed on their blog that they will be releasing a zombies mode, Exo Zombies, for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. The mode will be part of the upcoming DLC pack Havoc, which is slated to launch early next year.
Activision has detailed the Day Zero Edition of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. This version is slated to go live online and hit store shelves on November 3, ahead of the traditional Tuesday launch, and will come with several bonuses. The entire day will offer double experience during online play, and players will have access to two custom weapons (AK-12G Assault Rifle and Crossbow-B2) and the Advanced Arsenal, which includes a Bullet Brass Exoskeleton and EM1 Quantum Directed Energy Weapon. Gamers who go the digital route will receive the same bonuses, and those who buy the PS3 or Xbox 360 version will be eligible for a free digital upgrade to a PS4 or Xbox One version. The only restrictions on the digital upgrade are that it must be within the same console family and purchased prior to March 31.
Activision has released a new live-action trailer for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. Titled Discover Your Power, the video is similar to previous trailers in the series in that actors take on the role of the in-game characters, but the amped-up sci-fi aspect switches things up here. Magnetic gloves, jump packs, drones, and hover bikes are all showcased.
Activision has announced a free upgrade plan for the digital versions of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. Gamers who pick up the current-gen versions through Live for 360 or PSN for PS3 by March 31 will be able to download their next-gen equivalent for Xbox One or PS4 at no additional cost. All multiplayer stats and DLC purchases, including the Season Pass, will also carry over to the new versions for free, as long as the Xbox Gamertag and PSN ID are the same. Note that physical copies aren’t eligible for the free upgrade.
