Developer- and Publisher-specific Articles: Skyrim
Bethesda is bringing The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim to the current generation today with the release of Special Edition. The lengthy original adventure is supplemented by all of the expansions, including Dawnguard, Dragonborn, and Hearthfire, which have been graphically updated with remastered art and effects, volumetric rays, reflections, and new shaders for snow and water. PC mods can also be played on consoles.
Bethesda had several titles on show, a few of which feature the return of several properties that have been absent for a few years, including Prey and Quake. Doom will be receiving free content, Fallout 4 three new downloadable packs, and Fallout Shelter a PC release as well as quests in a new update. Dishonored 2 got a new trailer, screens, and details about its Limited Edition. One of their bigger reveals was Skyrim Special Edition for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
Bethesda has released seven soundtracks from their lineup of role-playing games, shooters, and everything in between on iTunes. Fans can now purchase the soundtracks for Dishonored, Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas, Rage, and the last three Elder Scrolls titles, Morrowind, Skyrim, and Oblivion. Perfect for those days when you want your commute to feel a bit more like the journey into a post-apocalyptic, mutant-filled wasteland that you wish it was.
Bethesda has announced some of the bigger names that will be voicing characters in their upcoming RPG, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Among the cast are Academy Award nominees Christopher Plummer (The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo) as a Greybeard elder, Max Von Sydow (The Exorcist) as chronicler and Blade agent Esbern, and Joan Allen (The Bourne Ultimatum) as Blade member Delphine. Other members include Lynda “Wonder Woman” Carter as the Nord hero Gormlaith Golden-Hilt, Michael Hogan (Battlestar Galactica) as Imperial General Tullius, and Claudia Christian (Babylon 5) as Legate Rikke. These are just a handful, though, as the studio ended up hiring over 70 actors to voice the 60,000-plus lines of dialog.
Bethesda has unveiled the collector’s edition for their upcoming role-playing game, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. The limited collector’s edition will be available for the 360, PC, and PS3, and can be pre-ordered now at select retailers.
