E.D.N. III’s deadly chill highlighted in new trailer for Lost Planet 3

Lost Planet 3 protagonist Jim Peyton’s trials are highlighted in a new video from Capcom. The latest trailer focuses on the dangers faced by NEVEC workers from the deadly cold on the frozen planet of E.D.N. III, as they harvest energy while staving off death from the dangerous indigenous life and minus 120-degree temperature.

UFO Interactive has released Mamorukun Curse!, a new top-down vertical shooter from G.rev Ltd. and Gulti, for PS3. The download-only release features Mamorukun and other Chosen Souls blasting their way through the evil forces sent from the World of Darkness to save the Netherworld. Players get to choose from seven characters, each with access to a special curse shot and their own unique attack patterns, and three different modes.

Sine Mora, the time-jumping side-scrolling shooter from Digital Reality and Grasshopper Manufacture, is available for iOS and will soon launch for Android. Ported by Pocket Scientists, the mobile versions feature the same strange characters and storyline that has made the current releases such standouts in the genre. As one of several anthropomorphic pilots, players must take down enemies and avoid getting hit in order to store up enough time to see each chapter through to its end.

The footage features hero Jim Peyton, an unlucky and unfortunate employee of NEVEC, attempting to best the wilds of E.D.N. III, a frozen world home to a wide array of human-hunting dangerous creatures and plagued by ice storms.

Contra: Evolution now available on App Store for iOS

Contra: Evolution, a reimagined take on the 1988 NES original, is now available on the App Store for iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch. As before, players must battle their way through the jungles of South America against suspiciously familiar aliens and their henchman in a bid to save the planet. Now, however, there are two more characters to choose from, bringing the roster up to four, and each has their own skill set. The announcement also noted that the North American version of Evolution was optimized and polished by original developer CocoaChina along with assistance from Konami.

Hotline Miami launches on PSN for PS3, PS Vita

Dennaton might have just revealed Hotline Miami 2, but that doesn’t mean that the original is ready to pack it in. Publisher Devolver Digital has announced that Hotline Miami, with its bizarre animal masks, 30-plus weapon arsenal, and 20 violent missions, has launched on PSN for PS3 and PS Vita for $9.99. The PSN version supports cross-save and buy, as well as adds trophies, leaderboards for each level, the new Russell Mask, which changes the colors to black and white, and a touch lock-on aiming system for PS Vita.
