Sega 3D Classics Collection now available in stores, on eShop for 3DS

Sega! has unloaded a bundle of some of their golden oldies on 3DS today with Sega 3D Classics Collection. The nine-game compilation includes two titles that are making their North American debut, including Power Drift and Puyo Puyo 2, with the former being a Yu Suzuki-created kart racer and the latter an addictive puzzler with a versus mode. The remaining seven, all detailed below, include Altered Beast, Fantasy Zone II: The Tears of Opa-Opa, Fantasy Zone II W – Fantasy Zone II W, Galaxy Force II, Maze Walker, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Thunder Blade. Several of these have been available on eShop for quite a while, but this is the first time all are being sold in physical form for the system. Gears of War 4 pre-order bonuses, season pass detailed

MS has sent word that the Standard and Ultimate editions of Gears of War 4 are up for pre-order. Additionally, a special bonus was announced for those who get in early. Gamers who pre-order either version will receive the Vintage Del Gear Pack, a set that includes a Vintage Del character model, emblem, two Vintage weapon skins, and a Vintage Del bounty. The standard edition costs $59.99 and the Ultimate Edition runs $99.99, which includes early access and the season pass. The pass, which includes 24 DLC maps and six Gear Packs, is detailed below along with the remaining Ultimate Edition goodies.

Degica is preparing to roll out another shooter for PC, RefRain -prism memories-. Slated to hit Steam on May 12, RefRain is cyberpunk-style bullet-hell shooter that focuses on speed and aggression. Players have access to three different ships, each with their own attack modes, a gauge that charges special attacks as enemies are damaged, and the ability to transform projectiles into prisms to replenish the gauge faster.

Gears of War 4 multiplayer trailer, PAX East events details posted

The Coalition has released a new trailer ahead of the Gears of War 4’s multiplayer beta opening to all Live Gold members. The beta will open up next Monday, so to get newer players up to speed, a highlight reel was put together showcasing some of the new weapons, abilities, and executions. The Dropshot, Buzzkill, and vault kick all pop up. PAX East attendees will get a chance to try multiplayer with a hands-on demo as well as watch the Gears eSports ESL Pro League Season 2 Grand Finals, catch the reveal of the new competitive mode Escalation, and sit in on a multiplayer-themed panel hosted by The Coalition. Gamers who won’t be in Boston for the show can check out the events, and take part in some giveaways, at 10:00 a.m. (CST) at the official Gears Twitch channel.

Umbrella Corps is getting a touch of Resident Evil Code: Veronica. The Antarctic Base is a direct carryover from Code: Veronica, with the facilities still damaged after the T-virus outbreak. It’s a three-story structure with connecting ventilation ducts and ladders, and is described as “perhaps the most tactical map in the game.” A new enemy was also revealed, Mutated Zombies. These are advanced cases that are unaffected by the Zombie Jammer and can cause the device to become ineffective on other monsters that are near the player. They will be in the single-player Experiment Mode’s Antarctic Base map as well as Multi-Mission Mode’s SP DNA Hunter ruleset. Check them and the new map out below.

Tom Clancy’s The Division – Incursions adds new activities, features

Tom Clancy’s The Division – Incursions, the first of two free updates, has gone live. Players can now take part in Falcon Lost, with player teams helping the Joint Task Force to fight the Last Man Battalion, and timed assignments that offer new rewards. New global events add Dark Zone supply drops of non-contaminated gear that don’t require extraction. Also added is the ability to trade within groups, and see the strength of other agents by a gear score. Several new gear sets will also offer build-based stat perks: Tactician’s Authority (electronics and support), Striker’s Battlegear (assault), Sentry’s Call (marksman), and Path of the Nomad (lone wanderer). Operation ISAC, an in-game weekly video series that offers missions and intel, also debuted earlier today, and will air every Tuesday at 3 a.m. (PT).

The Coalition and Microsoft have released the first story trailer for Gears of War 4. Titled Tomorrow, the video introduces a new arc that begins after the events of Gears of War 3. The upcoming storyline takes place 25 years later and follows the exploits of Marcus Felix’s son, JD, as he struggles against a new enemy. Also, a reminder for multiplayer fans: the beta is set to kick off on April 18 for players who’ve logged in time with Gears of War: Ultimate Edition. Later that week, on April 24, it will expand to include Live Gold members. Check here for details.

Dariusburst Chronicle Saviours’ second, Sega-themed DLC bundle is now available for PC and PS4. The latest drop joins the Taito bundle, which added ships, extra levels, and music themed around Metal Black, Night Striker, and RayForce. The Sega set adds even more ships, levels, and music, this time from Fantasy Zone, Galaxy Force II, and Space Harrier. The packs are available individually for $4.99 or as a bundle for $11.99.

Doom multiplayer beta opening to all on April 15, DLC plans detailed

id Software is opening up the Doom multiplayer beta to everyone beginning April 15. Through April 17, players will be able to jump into the beta without a code and try out two modes—Team Deathmatch and Warpath—on Heatwave and Infernal. Post-launch content was also announced, and will come in the form of updates for SnapMap and multiplayer. For SnapMap, the game’s map-making and sharing suite, there are plans to release new AI enhancements, features, modules, objects, and props. Multiplayer will receive free game modes as well as for-pay packs. The latter will add new maps, hack modules, playable demons, and weapons beginning this summer. Each drop will cost $14.99 each or $39.99 as part of the Season Pass.
