Run the Jewels premiers new track in Gears of War 4 Horde 3.0 trailer

Run the Jewels is teaming up with The Coalition to debut their latest track Panther Like a Panther, from their upcoming album Run the Jewels 3, in a new trailer for Gears of War 4. The video spotlights Horde 3.0. The new version will once again have a team of players facing off against waves of increasingly difficult enemies, but now with the addition of abilities, fortifications via a deployable base, and five classes: Engineer, Heavy, Scout, Sniper, and Soldier. Horde 3.0 will be playable at Pax West this weekend, with special guests battling it out in the First to Fifty, beginning at 6:30 p.m. (PDT) in the Pax Arena. Run the Jewels will be on hand, along with series co-creator Rod Fergusson, at Bait on Saturday from 2 to 3 p.m., and will appear as characters in multiplayer.

Headup’s bullet-hell shooter Solar Shifter EX launches for Xbox One

Headup Games’ bullet-hell-style shooter Solar Shifter EX has is now available digitally for Xbox One. The game features 18 missions set across eight environments, 40-plus enemy types, and four playable ships. Additionally, players will be able to teleport around the screen, allowing them to pull out of a hairy situation or straight into the thick of the action.

Doom trailer showcases free Update 2, Unto the Evil DLC dated

Doom will be receiving Update 2 tomorrow, a free download packed with maps, added SnapMap functionality, and other goodies. A trailer has been posted offering an overview of everything that will be included. Along with the video, Bethesda has announced that the first premium downloadable pack, Unto the Evil, will go live on August 5. The $14.99 drop is set to include three maps (Cataclysm, Offering, and Ritual), Harvester player-controlled demon, UAC EMG Pistol, Kinetic Mine, modules, and extra customization options. To kick things off, id is holding a Double XP weekend beginning 12:00 p.m. (ET) through 12:00 p.m. (ET) on August 1.

Gears of War 4 gameplay, story trailers and Comic-Con info released

Microsoft has released a new trailer and some gameplay footage from Gears of War 4. The windfall is due to San Diego Comic-Con, where players can spend some hands-on time with a playable demo that features a portion of the campaign and the Forge map in multiplayer at Xbox Booth #100. In addition, there will be a “Creators, Characters and Cast” panel in Center Room 6BCF on July 21 (2:15 p.m.-3:15 p.m.) with studio head Rod Fergusson, Liam McIntyre (Fenix), and others. An Encore with a special guest will take place on Friday at Nerd HQ (5:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m.). There will also be physical Gear Packs with cards that unlock in-game customization items, also at Booth #100 and Nerd HQ, and several figures and replicas on display. For those eying the new S model, a themed 2 TB bundle was announced for $449, which will include a themed controller, vertical stand, downloadable copy of Gears 4, early access (Oct. 7), and digital bonuses. The digital content includes the Vintage VIP Pack, six Gears Pack, permanent access to future maps for private games, and more.

Shooting Love 20XX’s final entry ExZeal hitting Steam on July 14

Degica’s Shooting Love 20XX collection is coming to an end soon with the release of ExZeal on July 14. The fourth, and final, release in the set follows Shmups Skill Test, Minus Zero, and TriZeal Remix. Shooter fans can look forward to four-plus weapon systems, two-player co-op, replay mode, and support for Steam achievements, cloud saves, and leaderboards.

Resident Evil arena shooter Umbrella Corps launches for PC, PS4

Capcom’s Resident Evil-themed third-person shooter Umbrella Corps has launched for PC and PS4. The download-only title focuses on bursts of fast-paced action with quick matches set in levels from throughout the series, including Raccoon City, RPD Police Station, and the Village from RE4. The 29.99 main game is supplemented by a $14.99 Upgrade Pack that includes a set of skins (Leon, Chris, Wesker), weapons, emotes, custom colors, and patches. The $39.99 Deluxe Edition bundles the game with the pack. Capcom plans on supporting the game with free post-launch content, which will include maps (the Mansion from RE1, Lanshiang from RE6), and a free-for-all mode called 4 Survivors.

TriZeal Remix joining Shooting Love 20XX line on Steam on July 7

Shooting Love 20XX’s third entry, TriZeal Remix, will launch on July 7 for PC. The game will feature two-player local co-op, replay mode, and support for Steam Leaderboards and Cloud saves. Players will pilot a ship capable of swapping between three weapons—wide shot, narrow laser, and guided missile—that will fire even when another is selected if sufficiently upgraded. There’s also another, unlockable ship, for those that put in the time. For shooter fans enjoying the second release of the Shooting Live 20XX collection, Minus Zero, Degica is hosting a competition running from today until 8 p.m. (CST) on June 20. Details are below.

Degica bringing Triangle’s Shmups Skill Test to Steam on June 9

Degica introduced PC gamers to Triangle Services’ catalog last year with DeltaZeal and XiiZeal, and they’re looking to expand it throughout 2016. Starting on June 9, the go-to publisher for shooters will begin rolling out the four titles that comprise the Shooting Love 20XX collection with the release of Shmups Skill Test. The collection of mini-games will evaluate the player’s skill based on several criteria, including dodging, shooting, and judgment. In addition to a score, the game will also return a gamer age. Up to four (local) players will be able to try their hand at the trials, which can be played individually or at random. The collection’s remaining titles—Minus Zero, TriZeal Remix, and ExZeal—will be released in the near future.

H1Z1: King of the Kill gets new Ignition competitive mode

A new competitive mode has launched for H1Z1: King of the Kill, Ignition. Similar to Battle Royale, the new addition pits 150 players in an all-out battle where each gets an ATV and a pack of explosives. The human missiles must scavenge for kit and weapons before making it to one of several safe zones before a countdown hits zero. Players who fail to reach a sanctuary, or leave a safe zone before the timer resets, will explode. As the match progresses, players will have access to fewer zones.
