Indie developer Hucast Games has officially released their Dreamcast title Ghost Blade HD for PS4, Xbox One, and Wii U. The $9.99 bullet-hell-style vertical shooter, said to be inspired by similar releases from the 1990s, features two-player local co-op, five stages, three ships, leaderboard support, and three difficulty levels. Players will be able to blast their way through several modes, including Practice and Score Attack.
NIS recently held their 2017 press event and has since released a host of trailers and announcements. Several new games have been added to their scheduled. Three titles are set to release this summer: Culdcept Revolt for 3DS, RPG Maker Fes for 3DS, and Touhou Kobuto V: Burst Battle for PS4 and PS Vita. Two more will follow later in the year: Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana for PC, PS4, and PS Vita this fall, and at an unspecified date, Tokyo Tattoo Girls for PC and PS Vita. Five others were also dated: Cladun Returns: This Is Sengoku! (PS Vita, Steam) is coming June 6, Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony (PS4, PS Vita) on September 26, Disgaea 5 Complete (Switch) on May 23, Operation Abyss: New Tokyo Legacy (PC) on March 27, and Psycho-Pass: Mandatory Happiness (PC) on April 24. And in a surprising bit of news, The Silver Case’s PS4 version will receive two additional chapters, Yami and Whiteout Prologue. Check below to see all of the new trailers.
Gears of War 4’s February update kicks off a week-long Valentine’s event today. The promotion adds new packs, maps (Impact Dark and War Machine), themed bounties, a Craftable Character, and additional improvements. The Torque Bow Tag also makes a return, but with a twist. Next month, players can look forward to a pre-game lobby setup for Core and Competitive playlists, weapon and playlist tuning based on feedback from fan surveys, and the first of “a steady flow” of Legacy Characters. This summer will also see some additions, including a new Inconceivable difficulty level for Campaign and Horde, IronMan Mode for Campaign and Horde, level 6 skills for all classes, more skills for all classes, and new achievements. Dariusburst Chronicle Saviours’ next downloadable set will feature ships from Capcom titles. Scheduled to launch February 16, the fifth wave will include drops for three games: Progear, Side Arms Hyper Dyne, and Varth: Operation Thunderstorm. As with the previous packs, each will have a ship, new stages, and music, with original tracks remixed by Yasuhisa Watanabe, Hiroyuki Iwatsuki, and Daisuke Matsumoto. Details can be found below. In regards to the physical version, it is now set to be published in March and will be exclusive to Limited Run Games. A $59.99 standard edition will come with the Darius Odyssey digital art book with Japanese text. A $99.99 limited edition will come bundled with the digital art book, ‘Original Arrange Album 2’ CD (Cave and 8ing DLC arrangements), and two Silver Hawk Burst figures in a package sporting art commissioned from Kanetaka Ebikawa.
Dariusburst Chronicle Saviours’ fifth downloadable bundle, based off of several of Eighting’s titles, is slated to launch on January 18. The three included packs feature a new ship, three stages, and new music each, with designs from Battle Garegga, Mahoudaisakusen, and Soukyuugurentai (Terra Diver). Ten arranged stages are also bundled, along with three boss fights and 10 stages for CS mode in CS Pack 3. The packs can be purchased individually for $4.99 or as a bundle for $11.97. Note that DLC ships can only be used in DLC levels.
Players can get an extended look at Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 today with a new 15-minute-long gameplay video. Developer CI Games walks viewers through a never-before-revealed location, a slaughterhouse nestled in the Georgian mountains. As Marine Jon North, players must break in to rescue an American prisoner. To achieve his mission, he has access to a wide variety of equipment and weapons, including a new aerial drone, which is featured in the footage.
Degica has announced that Dariusburst Chronicle Saviours’ third downloadable pack is set to launch on December 14. The set will consist of three packs featuring different properties from famed shooter developer Cave. Each pack will include a new ship, three stages, and new music from Deathsmiles, DoDonPachi Resurrection, and ketsui. Also included are 10 newly arranged stages, three boss fights, and CS Pack 3, which includes 10 stages from CS mode. The packs can be purchased individually for $4.99 or as a bundle for $11.97. Note that DLC ships can only be used in DLC levels.
Gears of War 4’s impending December Update has been detailed by The Coalition. Following last month’s release of Checkout and Drydock, two more maps will be added to the roster: Speyer, a pre-Locust War district offering close combat in its sanctuary and longer range combat in its academy, and Glory, a COG battery fortified with a mounted turret overlooking a courtyard. The update will also add vertical split-screen support for Windows 10, a daily rewards system, and other fixes, along with Gearsmas items. Season Pass holders get access to the maps at all times when they launch on December 13, while everyone else can play them while they are in rotation as part of public playlists. Players looking to grab the game can get it for 33% from December 1 to 28. Videos for both maps can be found below.
Natsume has released a trailer for their upcoming action title Wild Guns Reloaded. The cult classic made brief returns on the Virtual Console in 2010 and 2014, but the studio is looking to bring it back in full as a from-the-ground-up remake. Clint, Annie, Doris, and Bullet all get back into the action, blasting enemies to smithereens with machine guns, lasers, and grenades. Up to four players will be able to team up to take down the main mode.
