Ubisoft details free, for-pay DLC plans for Tom Clancy’s the Division

Tom Clancy’s the Division will be receiving three major expansions, according to Ubisoft. The online open-world role-playing shooter will receive both free updates and for-pay add-ons. The free updates will include standard balance tweaks and bug fixes along with new modes, such as group challenges in co-op. For-pay additions will be released throughout the year and add an underground area for up to four players in co-op, a survival mode, and another, unspecific mode called Last Stand. All three are included with the Season Pass, which also comes with an exclusive sawed-off shotgun and customize sidearm, in addition to outfits, weapon skins, and access to special events and content drops. Players can sign up for the upcoming beta here, which is set to kick off on January 28 for Xbox One and 29 for PC and PS4.

Umbrella Corps launching his May, new screens, trailer released

Umbrella Corps, the upcoming Resident Evil-themed arena shooter, will be hitting digital outlets this May for PC and PS4. In addition to a multiplayer component, there will also be a single-player campaign, The Experiment. Solo play will consist of over 20 multi-objective missions, tasking the player with battling through a “coliseum style horde-like mode” without the Zombie Jammer device found in multiplayer. Arenas will be based after areas found in Resident Evil 4 and 5, including the remote village from the fourth, and host numerous familiar enemies, such as the Ganados and Cerberus dogs. A new trailer was released alongside a handful of screenshots, all of which have been posted below.

Sega 3D Classics Collection coming stateside this April for 3DS

Sega will be bringing the 3DS compilation Sega 3D Classics Collection to North America. Scheduled to launch digitally and physically on April 26, the bundle will include nine games ported over to the system by the current retro-updating standard-bearers M2. The games will include titles from both the Genesis and Master System: Power Drift, Puyo Puyo 2, Maze Walker, Fantasy Zone II: The Tears of Opa-Opa, Fantasy Zone II W, Sonic The Hedgehog, Thunder Blade, Galaxy Force II, and Altered Beast. Five of the titles are already available through eShop but four are new to the system. Details for each are available below.

Bloodirony and Daedalic’s latest shooter, Shooting Stars, is now available for PC. As Tscherno, players don their skinny jeans, hoodies, and thick-framed glasses to save the day with their laser-eyed cat. Saddling up on their hoverboard, they must save mankind from an invasion of aliens who have taken on the form of knockoff Hollywood actors, musicians, and Youtubers (“Like, rate, comment and subscribe!”). In addition to the main mode, there are cards to collect and Daily Runs for players to compete for leaderboard position on individual stages.

Dariusburst: Chronicle Saviours getting Taitor shooter tie-in DLC

Degica has detailed their DLC plans for Dariusburst: Chronicle Saviours. On January 14, the PC version will receive the Darius Odyssey art book, previously exclusive to PS4, for $14.99 and as part of a combo with the base game for $59.99. Also set to be available on the same day for all versions are three themed packs based on Taito titles: Night Striker, Metal Black, and RayForce. Each pack will come with a new ship and remixed music from the associated title as well as unique levels. Note that the DLC ships are only usable in downloadable levels, though the base game ships are transferable to the new stages, and that the new levels are playable in CS mode with 16:9 aspect ratio.

Degica to bring Deathsmiles to PC via Steam in 2016

Another Cave shooter is heading to PC courtesy of Degica. The Xbox 360 shooter Deathsmiles is the latest making its way to Steam, following last month’s release of Mushihimesama, and is set to hit the service next spring. The bullet-hell-style shooter will feature six modes, six playable angels, two-player local co-op support, and a nonlinear progression system.

Kromaia Omega blasts its way onto PSN, store shelves for PS4

Rising Star has released Kraken Empire’s free-roaming shooter Kromaia Omega for PS4. Available online and in stores, the shoot ‘em up features leaderboard support, local two-player co-op, several types of ships, and adaptive AI that allows enemies to adjust their speed and formation. As an Armor pilot, players must battle their way through several worlds to face off against each planet’s powerful guardian. The locations are also dotted with puzzles and treasure. The game includes three modes: Story, Score Attack, and Pure.

Cave’s Mushihimesama to launch on Steam on November 5

Degica has announced that Cave’s shooter Mushihimesama will hit Steam on November 5. Translated to Bug Princess in English, the bullet-hell-style vertical shooter puts players in the role of princess Reco during her journey to secure a cure for her people from the god of the insect-like Koju. Astride Kiniro, her golden beetle, players will have to battle less pleasant Koju in order to make it to Shinju Forest. The game will feature three game modes, online leaderboard support, and 1.5 DLC.
