Serious Sam: Double D now available, let the explosions commence
Serious Sam: Double D, the first release in the Serious Sam Indie Series, is now available from Mommy’s Best Games on Get Games, Steam, and other download outlets. The $7.99 2D shooter includes 80,640 gunstacker combinations—take a gun, then stake another on top, then another, and then another, etc.—an 18-level campaign set across three time periods, 12 challenge levels, 25 monsters, 70 secret areas, and “ginormous boss encounter.”

Devolver Digital has released some new info on preorder bonuses and launch details for CroTeam’s upcoming sixteen-player first-person shooterocalypse Serious Sam 3: BFE. Set to launch on October 18, gamers wanting to get a discount can preorder the game on Steam and save 10% off the $39.99 MSRP. Even better, Steam users who already own a Serious Sam will receive an additional 10% discount. Serious Sam 3: BFE – PC gets splitscreen support, screens released
Croteam has announced that the PC version of Serious Sam 3: BFE will feature splitscreen support for up to four players and include both a co-op campaign and versus modes. Up to three gamepads can be used with a mouse and keyboard for maximum carnage across 12 levels and numerous modes, including Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, Survival, and Beast Hunt.

The Serious Sam Indie Series is coming, and to get gamers pumped, some new shots from Serious Sam: The Random Encounter have been released to get your 8-bit hearts a-flutterin’. The titles, all from smaller developers, also serve to prepare everyone for the million-round onslaught that is Serious Sam 3: BFE. Today’s shots come from a turn-based role-playing game from Vlambeer (Super Crate Box, Radical Fishing), where gamers will face “rapid-fire battles against towering numbers of enemies on their way to glory against the legions of Mental’s horde.”
