Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed ships for 360, PS3, Wii U
Kart racing returns today with the launch of Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed for 360, PS3, and Wii U. The follow-up to 2010′s Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing adds new characters, including NASCAR-er Danica Patrick and digital star Wreck-It Ralph, dynamic environments, and transforming vehicles. Sega fans will also find that many of the 16 tracks are inspired by other series, including Nights, Panzer Dragoon, and Super Monkey Ball. A new style-based mechanic has also been added to reward flashy drivers.

Anarchy Reigns to bring the pain to 360 and PS3 this January
PlatinumGames is busy these days. In addition to working on Bayonetta 2 and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, the studio is still hard at work on the post-apocalyptic brawler Anarchy Reigns. It’s looking like their workload will be lightening shortly, though, as Sega has announced that the multiplayer-centric title will be launching on January 8 for PS3 and January 11 for 360.

Sega has released two new screens from Gearbox Software’s upcoming xenomorph-tastic shooter Aliens: Colonial Marines. The latest shots are from New York Comic-Con 2012, but we’ve tossed in a few from this year’s PAX as well because two is never enough when we’re talking about Aliens.

ToeJam & Earl readying a funk bomb for release on PSN, XBLA
The baddest duo to wear gold chains, shades, and over-sized hats will be strutting onto Live Arcade and PSN soon with ToeJam & Earl and ToeJam & Earl in Panic on Funkotron. The Genesis classics will be released as part of Sega’s Vintage Collection series, with 360 gamers getting an 800 MS Point bundle on November 7 and both launching separately on PSN for $4.99 each on November 6. Both titles will include achievements and trophies and support for online co-op play.

Nights HD bundle and Sonic Adventure 2 HD available for PS3
The HD remakes of Sega’s Nights into Dreams and Sonic Adventure 2 have launched on PSN. The $9.99 downloads will be followed by the 360 versions on Live Arcade for 800 MS Points on October 5. In addition to featuring trophy and achievement support as well as graphical upgrades, Nights is bundled with the fantastic holiday-themed promo release Christmas Nights. PS3 gamers receive an extra bonus in the form of a free theme for either game with purchase.

Total War: Shogun 2 Assembly Kit now on Steam
The Creative Assembly has released a suite of tools for modders looking to modify the Shogun 2 line. The Total War: Shogun 2 Assembly Kit includes an updated Battle Map Editor (TEd) with Steam Workshop integration and ability to create scripted single-player historical battles, as well as a built-in Mod Manager, Database Visual Editor, data-processing tool, and more. The kit, detailed below, is compatible with the original game as well as all add-ons and expansions.

Total War: Rome II in-game footage debuted in new gameplay trailer
Sega has released a new trailer showing in-game footage from Creative Assembly’s upcoming Total War entry, Total War: Rome II. But don’t let the length fool you: most of the run time is from an extended post-footage ad that shows the previous live-action trailer. Those wanting to see more of Carthage getting their comeuppance from Scipio and the legions will have to wait a bit longer.

Jet Grind Radio launches on PSN, tomorrow on Steam and Live
The HD version of Jet Set Radio, originally released on the Dreamcast as Jet Grind Radio, has launched on PSN. PC and Xbox 360 gamers will be able to download it tomorrow off Live Arcade and Steam. As a part of the Heritage Collection, Jet Set Radio includes extra content, such as fan-contributed graffiti and a making-of documentary, in addition to all of the platforming spray-painting action.

Total War Battles: Shogun launches on Steam for Mac, PC
Total War is back … sorta. Sega has released the iOS strategy title Total War Battles: Shogun on Steam for Mac and PC. The hex-centric real-time release follows a young samurai who must recruit and maintain an army as he tears his way through feudal Japan on a quest to avenge his father’s murder.
