Creative Assembly has released a new update containing a new faction as well as new for-pay DLC for Total War: Rome II. The free faction is the state of Massilia, a city founded by Greek colonists on the northwest coast of Mediterranean that has since adopted Gallic culture and combat tactics. The rest of the update includes a host of unit balance tweaks. Additionally, a for-pay DLC pack, the Black Sea Colonies Culture Pack, adds three new factions for play in the Grand Campaign, custom battles, and multiplayer: Cimmeria, Colchis, and Pergamom. Each was founded by Greek colonists, so their units and buildings are a combination of Hellenistic and regional influences. A full breakdown is available below.

Sega releases ‘The White Horse’ trailer for Total War: Attila

A new trailer has launch for Total War: Attila. The follow-up to Rome II, scheduled to launch next year, is reminiscent of Barbarian Invasion for Rome, which caught up with Rome after the split of the empire and allowed players to take control of the slowly deteriorating West, robust East, and variety of barbarian factions. The latest video features some unit shots, a quick overview of the empire’s situation at the start of the game, and the emergence of Attila.

Valkyria Chronicles launching with all DLC for PC in November

Sega has followed up Monday’s tweet with an official announcement regarding Valkyria Chronicles for PC. The game is indeed in development, and in addition to the base game, PC gamers will also be receiving four DLC packs. The add-ons include Hard EX Mode, two side-story campaigns (Edy’s Enter the Edy Detachment and Selveria ‘s Behind Her Blue Flame), and six challenge missions, Challenge of the Edy Detachment. The bundle is priced at $19.99 and scheduled to launch online on November 11.

Sega to open a new front, Valkyria Chronicles to deploy for PC

Sega has revealed via a tweet that Valkyria Chronicles is currently in development for PC. The turn-based strategy has, until now, been exclusive to PS3. The fantastic original spawned two sequels for PSP, the first of which was published in North America in 2010, but the other, the last of the trilogy, remains an untranslated Japan-only release. Fingers crossed this represents a continued interest in the series on Sega’s part.

Sega has revealed two pre-order bonuses on offer from GameStop for Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F 2nd. Dropping a few bucks before the game’s November 18 launch will net players two costume module packs: the Extra Character Pack (with Akita Neru, Yowane Haku, and Kasane Teto) and Hatsune Miku’s Americana Module. The items are available for either version, PS3 or PS Vita. A new trailer and screenshots were released highlighting the goods.

Sega has released Creative Assembly’s new survival-thriller Alien: Isolation. In this latest take on the popular franchise, players will find themselves on a decommissioned trading station on the outskirts of space, trying to avoid being impaled, sliced, burned, or otherwise mutilated by a Xenomorph that has found its way on board. Unlike previous Aliens titles, players will have to make do with limited resources by sticking to the shadows and gathering whatever they can to survive the hunt.

Creative Assembly brings Rome to the brink with Total War: Attila

Creative Assembly has revealed that they are flowing up the release of Total War: Rome II with Total War: Attila in 2015. As with the original Rome’s expansion Barbarian Invasion, Attila will move the timeline along to the beginning of the Dark Ages. Players will get the chance to lead a struggling empire against migrating barbarians fighting to settle on imperial lands while battling usurpers, staving off diseases, and attempting to maintain a treasury heavily depleted after the empire split between east and west. Attila will see the return of family trees and skill trees as well as new mechanics, such as settlement destruction, civilians present during town battles, and dynamic fire that can spread during city assaults. Unfortunately, a full list of playable factions was not released.

Sega adds tri-Ace’s RPG Resonance of Fate to PSN for PS3

Sega has added their 2010 role-playing game Resonance of Fate to PSN for PS3. The tri-Ace-developed title follows three employees of a private military firm— Leanne, Vashyron, and Zephyr—in a time when humanity lives cloistered around the only machine capable of sustaining life on Earth. As the trio take on missions for clients, they begin to learn more about the powers who control the machine and their lives. Players will be able to customize their characters and weaponry by unlocking new costumes and parts, and fight in a semi-real-time combat system that focuses on firearms and flashy attacks.

Alien: Isolation’s Survivor Mode now official, DLC packs announced

Sega has officially announced Alien: Isolation’s Survivor Mode, which was debuted earlier this year at E3. As a terrified survivor on board the Sevastopol Station, players must make use of limited resources in order to avoid detection by a lone Xenomorph while also completing a series of objectives. The game will ship with one map, Basement, but more will be available as downloadable content beginning on October 28. Basement will include three new maps as well as a new playable character. Five add-on packs in total will be released by March, each featuring a new playable character, different enemies to avoid, and new maps. A Season Pass is now available for all packs, offering a savings of 25%.
