Sega has announced a retro-themed pre-order bonus for Sega 3D Classics Collection. Early buyers will receive a nine-sticker decal sheet when they pick up the compilation. The set of silver-hued stickers will include a Master System logo and console, a Mega Drive logo, a Genesis logo and console, a 16-Bit logo, a GigaDrive logo, a Professor Asobin, and of course, a Sega logo.

Sega’s localization campaign continues with the announcement that 7th Dragon III Code: VFD is bound for North America. The self-contained entry will offer its dungeon-crawling adventure to would-be heroes digitally and physically. Set in the near-future, humanity is being ravaged by invading dragons. As the hero, players link up with gaming company Nodens Enterprises to hunt down the beasts. In their quest, Nodens will send the player’s party to three different time periods: ancient Atlantis, future Eden, and contemporary Tokyo. The squad will be fully customizable with eight classes, including God Hand, Rune Knight, and Samurai, 40 voice options, and 96 outfit pieces. The team will also be able to improve Nodens’ HQ to access more services.

Valkyria Chronicles Remastered coming digitally, physically to PS4

Sega is following up their PC re-release of the PS3 tactical role-playing game Valkyria Chronicles with a new Remastered version for PS4. Valkyria Chronicles Remastered is set to launch digitally and physically this spring for $29.99, and as a bonus for early buyers, first-run and pre-order copies will come with a Squad 7 Armored Case that features the main characters. In addition to the main campaign, which tasks players with leading Gallia’s Squad 7 against the invading forces of the Empire, the game will also include all downloadable content. The DLC will add Hard EX Mode, Challenge of the Edy Detachment, and missions for Edy and Selvaria. The game will also feature support for 1080p at 60fps, dual audio tracks, and trophies.

Sega 3D Classics Collection coming stateside this April for 3DS

Sega will be bringing the 3DS compilation Sega 3D Classics Collection to North America. Scheduled to launch digitally and physically on April 26, the bundle will include nine games ported over to the system by the current retro-updating standard-bearers M2. The games will include titles from both the Genesis and Master System: Power Drift, Puyo Puyo 2, Maze Walker, Fantasy Zone II: The Tears of Opa-Opa, Fantasy Zone II W, Sonic The Hedgehog, Thunder Blade, Galaxy Force II, and Altered Beast. Five of the titles are already available through eShop but four are new to the system. Details for each are available below.

Yakuza 5 is out! After announcing its launch date on Saturday, Sega has released the download-only title on PSN. In the crime-themed, open-world action title, players control five characters who are being drawn into the underworld. Some, including series regulars Kazuma Kiryu and Taiga Saejima, have tried to leave that life behind, while others find themselves caught up in recent events. In addition to busting heads, players can also engage in a variety of mini-games, such as drag racing and gambling.

Yakuza 0 coming to North America, Yakuza 5 launching next week

During Sony’s PlayStation Experience livestream, Atlus revealed two bits of Yakuza-related news: the first is that the studio will be bringing Yakuza 0 stateside both physically and digitally for PS4, and secondly, Yakuza 5’s will be released on December 8. Yakuza 0 will take players back to December 1988 as they take a young Kazuma Kiryu through the streets of Tokyo in a bid to regain his honor. He must fight to restore his name after a simple debt collection ends in murder. Another story will see players control Goro Majima, the Mad Dog of Shimano, as he attempts to rejoin his clan. Combat styles will be switchable on the fly, and players will be able to earn cash from Telephone Clubs, Pocket Circuit car races, and Disco Halls.

New Yakuza 5 screenshots highlight extended cast

After introducing players to the game’s five protagonists, Sega is now focusing on some of Yakuza 5’s secondary characters. The first is Masaru Watase, a hotshot lieutenant for the Omi Alliance itching for a gang war. Looking to stop him and his ilk is a mysterious Osaka detective who uses clues to manipulate the main characters. Sosuke Komaki is a flannel-loving trainer who is helping Kiryu. On the other end of the spectrum are Goro Majima, an enforcer for the Shimano Family, and Hiroshi Kugihara, a mutilated, deranged inmate out to terrorize Saejima during his stint. Even more of the extended cast is featured in the dozen new screenshots posted below.

Time to put some fists to faces in new Yakuza 5 screenshots

Sega has released a new set of screenshots showcasing the combat system in Yakuza 5. In the upcoming crime thriller, each of the five protagonists has their own unique fighting style, special abilities, and skills. In addition, players can also grab a variety of ad hoc weapons to help them crush their enemies, including bicycles, pliers, and street signs. Sega’s recent livestream demonstrating the gameplay has been archived to their Youtube channel, while the next session is set to air today at 1:30 p.m. (CST) on their Twitch channel. Over 25 shots have been posted.

Sega has released nearly 20 screenshots highlighting the various side activities in Yakuza 5. From racing chickens to bowling, playing pool, fishing, or trying their luck with a UFO catcher to win a snazzy statue, players will have plenty to do when they aren’t out and about Yakuza-ing it up.
