Resistance 3 on store shelves, DLC announced
Insomniac Games’ Resistance 3 is now available for the PS3. Set four years after Resistance 2, the third entry into the long-running series features an alternate 1950′s America that is occupied by the Chimera. Joseph Capelli returns from the second release as the last remaining Sentinel who must reverse the Chimar’s terraforming program. As the Earth slowly changes around him, Capelli strikes out in one last attempt to reverse mankind’s fortunes by trekking from his home in Oklahoma to meet up with scientist Dr. Fyodor Malikov in New York.

PlayStation Home to become a ‘world of games’ this fall
PlayStation Home is set to receive some renovations this fall as Sony has announced plans for a complete redesign to shift its setup from being a virtual environment to a world of games. The virtual destination will receive a new Hub that will integrate games, quests, events, and user-generated content, as well as provide options for shopping, socializing, and accessing other media. The Hub will teleport players to different “genre-based districts, where they will encounter games tailored to their interests and style, while introducing them to a rich and diverse selection of game experiences.”

Infamous 2 to get single-player DLC, Festival of Blood
Infamous 2 will be getting a new single-player DLC pack later this year, Festival of Blood. Scheduled to launch on PSN in time for Halloween, the downloadable adventure will introduce vampires to New Marais. After being bitten, Cole has a single night to track down and kill the vampires’ leader.

Infamous 2 now available, Cole misses E3 to bust heads
Amidst all of the excitement of E3 comes news that Sucker Punch’s Infamous 2, sequel to one of the best games of 2009, is now available on store shelves. The follow-up sees powered-up everyman Cole MacGrath returning with new abilities and an evolved Karma system as he makes his way through New Marais with pal Zeke. The two must face a dangerous new enemy known as the Beast. The journey to the Beast won’t be easy as players must choose to go with their good side, embodied by Agent Lucy Kuo and ice powers, or their bad side, represented by Nix and fire-centric powers; each side offers a different experience and, depending on which paths are taken, one of several endings.

Infamous 2 demo now on PS Store
Cole’s battle with his inner demons will continue next week when Infamous 2 hits store shelves on June 7. Gamers itching to give the game a go a little earlier, though, can head over to the PS Store and grab the recently launched demo. The demo includes both story missions and side quests, as well as a chance to try out some of the new powers and parkour moves.

PlayStation Network to be fully restored tomorrow, Home virtual E3 booth detailed
Sony has announced that the PlayStation Network will be fully restored and available to access tomorrow in the Americas, Europe/PAL territories and Asia, excluding Japan, Hong Kong, and South Korea. Music Unlimited for PS3, PSP, and PC is also up and running. Details regarding full restoration in Japan, Hong Kong, and South Korea will be available at a later date. Additionally, details about each region’s Welcome Back package are still to be announced.

Bleach: Soul Resurrección box art revealed
NIS has given up the goods to Bleach fans today with the unveiling of the official box art for the upcoming PS3 release, Bleach: Soul Resurrección. Fans of the Viz Media series can look forward to taking control of one of the 21 playable characters in a free-roaming action-adventure stacked with multiple modes, a robust leveling system, and more when Soul Resurrección hits store shelves this August.

Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One to quadruple the action this fall
Ratchet and Clank will be returning to the PS3 next fall in Insomniac’s Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One. The upcoming adventure will feature Ratchet and Clank teaming up with Qwark and Dr. Nefarious to save themselves after one of Dr. Nefarious’ plans goes awry. Set to launch October 18, All 4 One will support on and offline four-player co-op as well as stereoscopic 3D.

Starhawk announced for PS3
The ‘hawk series will continue in 2012 with a hard-edged spin-off, Starhawk. Currently in development at LightBox Interactive, in collaboration with Sony Santa Monica Studio, Starhawk will continue the third-person shooter action while expanding on the out-of-the-cockpit elements introduced in the 2007′s Warhawk as well as add a bit of real-time strategy to the mix. Players will take on the role of Emmett Graves, a gunslinger whose exposure to the powerful Rift Energy on the Frontier planets has left him partly mutated.
