Edge of Space beta progress recap for January, screens released

Catching up on a little bit of everything on the Edge of Space front today. In addition to new screens, the studio has released info on what players dabbling in the beta have gained access to during January. Aside from a graphical overhaul, storage chests can now be created to safely store items that don’t need to be carried around. New weapons have also been added, including rocket launches, rifles, carbines, and machine guns. And for those who want a little company, or help with collecting items, the first handful of holopet familiars are now available to collect.

Just Cause 2 hijacks PS Store with new Ultimate Edition

The plane-riding, enemy-grappling action shooter Just Cause 2 is now available as a new collection on the PS Store. Titled Just Cause 2: Ultimate Edition, the $29.99 download-only release includes the original game, both DLC packs, and eight additional in-game items. The standard edition is also available for $24.99.

Minecraft – Live Arcade trailer, screens revealed at MineCon

The Xbox 360 Live Arcade version of Minecraft was debuted today at MineCon, the only Mojang-sanctioned convention for the popular world-builder. Over 5,000 players have gathered to enjoy a weekend of creepers and crafting, and the first round of media from the show has been released. While not quite as nice as the attendees’ hands-on time, I think a batch of screenshots and a trailer isn’t too bad of a way to kick off the weekend.

Saints Row: The Third continues the open-world hijinks with players leading The Saints, now a marketing brand going under the name Saints-Ultor Media Group, against their rivals for control of Steelport. The Deckers, The Luchadores, and The Morningstar are all vying for power, with victory going to the gang with the biggest crew and most guns. Or largest rabbit mask. Whichever.
