Yakuza 5 is out! After announcing its launch date on Saturday, Sega has released the download-only title on PSN. In the crime-themed, open-world action title, players control five characters who are being drawn into the underworld. Some, including series regulars Kazuma Kiryu and Taiga Saejima, have tried to leave that life behind, while others find themselves caught up in recent events. In addition to busting heads, players can also engage in a variety of mini-games, such as drag racing and gambling.
After introducing players to the game’s five protagonists, Sega is now focusing on some of Yakuza 5’s secondary characters. The first is Masaru Watase, a hotshot lieutenant for the Omi Alliance itching for a gang war. Looking to stop him and his ilk is a mysterious Osaka detective who uses clues to manipulate the main characters. Sosuke Komaki is a flannel-loving trainer who is helping Kiryu. On the other end of the spectrum are Goro Majima, an enforcer for the Shimano Family, and Hiroshi Kugihara, a mutilated, deranged inmate out to terrorize Saejima during his stint. Even more of the extended cast is featured in the dozen new screenshots posted below.
Avalanche Studios’ latest open-world explosionfest Just Cause 3 is now available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. A gameplay trailer below offers a sample of the over-the-top action, while the launch trailer and some new screens have also been posted.
