Sega releases new screens, final developer interview for Yakuza 5

Sega has released the third and final entry in their developer interview for Yakuza 5. The ending interview is with general director Toshihiro Nagoshi and producer Masayoshi Yokoyama, and covers the game’s themes, music, and impending Western release. Also, while an exact release date is still unknown, the game has gone up for pre-order, and it was revealed today that early buyers will receive a 15% discount and the Fulfiller of Dreams static theme. New screenshots were also released, as well as a look at the theme.

GTAV’s Rockstar Editor coming to PS4, Xbox One, plus Online update

Rockstar will be adding Rockstar Editor to the PS4 and Xbox One versions of Grand Theft Auto V and GTA Online with next month’s update. The update will also add features that will be available for the PC version, including new font styles, the ability to copy and paste audio markers, Snapmatic integration, access to an ambient audio and sound effects library, and extra Director Mode options. Director Mode will receive an enlarged minimap with blips marking preset locations, the ability to spawn air and water vehicles, and the option to freeze time-of-day settings. GTA Online’s Freemode will also be receiving some new gameplay content, though specifics won’t be revealed until later.

Sega releases second video in interview series for Yakuza 5

Sega has released the second video of their ongoing series exploring the themes and history of Yakuza 5. The first, released last April, offered an overview of the storyline and inspirations behind the series, while the latest interview, with developers Mr. Nagoshi and Mr. Yokoyama, covers the character designs, hostess clubs, and new cities. The two also touch on the series’ appeal to Western audiences.

Microsoft made a number of announcements at this year’s gamescom. A few of which include the reveal of Halo Wars 2 for Xbox One and Windows 10, currently in development at Creative Assembly, Killer Instinct Season 3, and the addition of Shadow Complex to the backwards compatibility preview program. Speaking of which, Microsoft plans to have up to 100 Xbox 360 titles supported by the November launch. Other announcements included console bundles for Fifa 16 and Halo 5: Guardians, DVR for Over-the Air TV functionality for Xbox One (a subscription-free service, allowing for streaming and transferring between devices), two Halo 5 wireless controllers ($69.99 each), and a chatpad ($34.99). Grand Theft Auto Online gets Title Update, The Ill-Gotten Gains Part 2

The second part of the The Ill-Gotten Gains Update is now available for all versions of Grand Theft Auto Online. The download adds new vehicles, weapons, clothes, and music. Some of the new additions include the Coil Brawler luxury sports-styled off-roader, Dinka Vindicator motorcycle, Lampadati Toro speedboat, wood-finished Marksman Pistol, solid gold Knuckle Dusters, and the iFruit Snap Watch. The Lab, a new station, is on all console versions and features hosts Dr. No and the Chemical Bro. playing new music from The Alchemist and Oh No, along with several guest appearances, that is inspired by their tracks on the original score. The download also includes a Title Update, to 1.28, which includes general improvements and fixes as well as the ability to create custom Jobs at the airport and military base. The nearly six-minute-long video features Sony’s Director of Third Party Production and Developer Relations Gio Corsi interviewing Yakuza 5’s General Director Toshihiro Nagoshi and Producer Masayoshi Yokoyama. Topics covered include what the duo value most as creators, the storyline, and the inspiration behind the series.

GOG.com has added five titles to their library from Deep Silver and Nordic Games. Each title is on sale as part of a week-long discount to celebrate the deal, with DarkSiders 1 and 2 available for up to 75% off ($7.99, $11.99, respectively), Metro: Last Light Redux for 50% off ($12.49), Saints Row 2 for 60% off ($3.99), and Saints Row: The Third for 66% off ($4.99). All releases are available DRM-free, and as with other older titles, Saints Row 2 has been modified to work without issue on modern rigs.

Just Cause 3 gameplay trailer goes boom, reveals pre-order DLC

Avalanche has released some new gameplay footage from Just Cause 3. The video features protagonist Rico Rodriguez blowing anything and everything he comes across on Medici island in his war against General Di Ravello. The end of the trailer features a glimpse at the Weaponised Vehicle Pack, a free pre-order download pack that adds three luxury vehicles.

State of Decay: Year-One Survival Edition is now available for PC and Xbox One. The latest version includes the base game and both expansions, Breakdown and Lifeline, remastered in 1080p with improved animation, lighting, shadows, and textures. Combat mechanics have also been overhauled. Other added content includes a new mission type, requiring players to clear out hordes that gather around supply crates; an SUV along with 25-plus new vehicle skins; 30 minutes of new music; the ability to use Lifeline’s characters in Breakdown; Lifeline’s community upgrades in all versions; and an under-barrel grenade launcher and incendiary ammo.

PC gamers are finally getting their chance to explore Los Santos today with the release of Grand Theft Auto V.
