Rockstar releases Grand Theft Auto V for PS4 and Xbox One

After a flurry of recent news, including the reveal of a first-person mode and a last-gen to current-gen comparison video, the enhanced PS4 and Xbox One version of Grand Theft Auto V has been released. Rebuilt for the new systems, the latest version features new activities, wildlife, weapons, and vehicles, in addition to 150-plus new songs. Grand Theft Auto Online has also been updated with support for up to 30 players as well as the new first-person mode. Players can transfer their existing Online characters and progress to either version.

Far Cry 4 gets eight-minute-long 101 Launch Trailer

A new trailer has been released for Far Cry 4, the 101 Launch Trailer. The video is over eight minutes long and features the protagonist’s backstory as well as info on the area’s factions, weapons, locales, quests, multiplayer, weapons and crafting. It’s a pretty thorough walkthrough, and made up largely of gameplay footage. The fourth entry sets players loose in the Himalayas in the midst of a civil war to overthrow the dictator Pagan Min. Drop-in/drop-out co-op play is also supported.

Just Cause 3 coming to PC, PS4, and Xbox One in 2015

Avalanche Studios’ Just Cause is set to return next year for PC, PS4, and Xbox One in Just Cause 3. As with its predecessors, players will be able to explore a large open-world environment as they wreak havoc on anything and everything. The only details released include the return of the grapple and parachute, the introduction of the new wingsuit, and the setting of a Mediterranean archipelago. Grand Theft Auto V graphics video compares PS3 and PS4 versions

Rockstar has followed up their announcement about the upcoming first-person mode in the new versions of Grand Theft Auto V with a trailer demonstrating the graphical improvements that players can expect. Specifically, the video covers the differences between the PS3 and PS4 versions, showcasing a variety of locales, vehicles, and characters during its nearly minute and a half running time. In addition to a higher resolution, the PC, PS4, and Xbox One versions will also sport double the drawing distance and upgraded textures.

Upcoming versions of Grand Theft Auto V get First Person Experience

In addition to the recently revealed new content for the upcoming PC, PS4, and Xbox One versions of Grand Theft Auto V, Rockstar has announced a brand-new mode: First Person Experience. Players can now experience the game, single player or online, using a first-person perspective that has been fully integrated into the game world. To achieve this, Rockstar has created an optional first-person cover system, a new targeting system, new animations, and a traditional first-person shooter control scheme. Views can be switched between on the fly throughout play. A trailer and some new screenshots were released to highlight the new mode.

Rockstar has revealed more details about the bonuses in store for Grand Theft Auto V players that upgrade to one of the upcoming versions for PC, PS4, or Xbox One. The extensive list is available below, as is a host of frequently asked questions about upgrades, the transferring of exclusive content from current-gen versions, and the handling of Grand Theft Auto Online characters and jobs. Some of the additions include new events and rewards to unlock new vehicles, including the Dodo seaplane, a murder mystery that rewards two Noir Style Filters, and a wildlife photography challenge that unlocks the Kraken sub. New players will also find extra vehicles added for the release, including several from previous GTAs, and anyone who pre-orders will receive a million bucks to spend in-game, half for Story Mode and half for GTA Online.

Rockstar verifies 10 new Air Races, now up for 360, PS3 GTA Online

Rockstar has added 10 new Verified Jobs to GTA Online. All of the jobs are Air Races, which were chosen from submissions to the recent #FlightSchool Event Weekend Creator Competition, with five being official selections and the other five being select runners-up that the studio decided to designate as Verified. The jobs are now playable on both 360 and PS3, and will be playable in the upcoming PS4 and Xbox One versions. Details for each are available below.

Last Team Standing update now live for Grand Theft Auto Online

Rockstar has released another substantial update for GTA Online, Last Steam Standing. The download adds two new weapons, a heavy shotgun and marksman rifle; 30-plus themed clothing items; vehicles, including a sport bike and chopper; Creator features, and numerous gameplay tweaks, such mini-map icons indicating when players are in vehicles. Ten new Last Team Standing Jobs have also been added, scattered across Blaine County and Los Santos. The update now allows for a Forced Weapon setting to be engage, and for creators to add rounds to Captures and Last Team Standing Jobs as well as to Rockstar-created Last Team Standing, Captures, and Versus missions. Grand Theft Auto V for next-gen console, PC dated, media released

Rockstar has announced that the PC, PS4, and Xbox One versions of Grand Theft Auto V will launch on November 18 for console and January 27 for PC. A host of new, exclusive content was also revealed. In addition to graphical improvements, including higher resolution and greater draw distances, there will be new activities, weapons, vehicles, foliage system, new songs (100+), and DJ mixes. There will also be more wildlife and traffic, an enhanced weather effects, and improved damage effects. PS3 and Xbox 360 owners picking up one of the new versions will also receive some extras, including new activities (e.g., wildlife photography), shooting range challenges, weapons, and rare versions of vehicles from previous entries, such as a faster, nimbler Blimp. GTA Online is also getting a player limit boost up to 30. Pre-orders will also receive $1,000,000 in in-game cash for both the single-player portion and GTA Online.

Wii U owners will be able to hack their way around Chicago—and into some explosive chaos—this November in Watch Dogs. Beginning on November 18, gamers will get the chance to don their GamePads in a quest for revenge as hacker turned vigilante Aiden Pearce. The Wii U version will support Off-TV Play, allowing for gaming sessions to move between TV and GamePad, and add an interactive map of the city on the GamePad whenever played on a TV.
