After conquering the lands of Xbox Onia, Marius Titus has gathered the remnants of the XIV Gemina and set off on their next campaign to the far off lands of Computoria. Or if you would prefer to skip bad jokes: Crytek has announced that they and Deep Silver will be bringing the action title Ryse: Son of Rome to PC this fall. The new version will be released online and in stores, and it will include all previously released DLC as well as support 4K resolution. The download packs include five skins, 16 Arena maps (five for solo play), Survival Mode, and three extra Survival maps. In addition, PC gamers will also be getting two bonuses that came with the special edition of the Xbox One release, the Ruins multiplayer map and the Legionnaire’s Trust sword.

Ryse: Son of Rome’s multiplayer received a new add-on today, the Morituri Pack. The $7.99 download includes three new arenas for Gladiator mode (Beacon, False Gods, and Revolution), two arenas for Survival mode (Sulfur River and The Forbidden Forest), five arenas for Solo mode (the new Gladiator arenas plus Garden and Market), and the armor of Oswald, King of the Britons. Beacon tasks players with invading a barbarian camp, while False Gods has an Ancient Egypt theme and Revolution a post-collapse Western Roman Empire theme. Both Sulfur River and The Forbidden Forest are filled with traps that spring during combat. A contest to discover the final Easter Egg was also announced, details are available below.

Crytek is gearing up for Ryse: Son of Rome’s next downloadable multiplayer add-on, Mars’ Chosen Pack. Announced for a February 28 release, the new expansion will add five new maps, a new co-op mode, and a new skin. The new maps include Dockyard, Firestorm, Courtyard, Pyramid, and Obelisk. The first two maps are being added and the third optimized for the new Survival Mode, while the latter pair will bring the exotic wilds of Egypt to Arena Mode. The new skin will be a soldier-centric addition, dubbed the Legionary.

Crytek’s Roman-themed action title Ryse has received two DLC packs today, one free and the other for pay. The bonus download is for two new level events for Gladiator Mode, one featuring a random turret that will need to be destroyed and another cause single-use, stat-boosting Reward Statues to appear. The for-pay drop, the Colosseum Pack, includes two new character skins (Commodus and Centurion) and two new arenas (Henge and Ascension) for $3.99. Check below for shots of the new stages and armor.

To kick off the impending release, Crytek and Microsoft have released a new launch trailer that shows off the kinds of bloody battles that gamers can expect. Ryse: Son of Rome gets Season Pass, four DLC packs scheduled

Microsoft has detailed the Season Pass for Crytek’s Ryse: Son of Rome. The pass will include four downloadable packs for $19.99, which represents a savings of 25 percent over individual purchases. In total, the drops will add 14 multiplayer maps, six player skins, access to a new tier of weapons and armor, new level events, and a new mode. The pass also comes with an extra attribute-boosting weapon set that includes a sword and shield.

Microsoft Game Studios has two new trailers for Crytek’s upcoming action title Ryse: Son of Rome. One of the videos gives a two-minute overview of the main character, Roman legionnaire Marius Titus, who is on a quest of revenge against the barbarians who killed his family. The other details the story behind a special weapon gifted to Titus by his father, the Damocles dagger, which is said to come from a centurion who returned from Hades to take vengeance on the corrupt generals that left him to die. Damocles’ tale is especially eye-catching.

Crytek has released a new video in their documentary series covering the development of their upcoming Xbox One action title Ryse: Son of Rome. The latest entry focuses on combat, including a look at the Roman combat expert that was consulted and the motion-capture technology used to bring Marius to life. The six-minute entry also features interviews with several team members, including gameplay director Patrick Esteves, senior producer Brian Chambers, and animator Joseph Garrahan.
