Time to grab the pickax! Dragon Quest Builders out for PS4, PS Vita

The hybrid builder and role-playing game Dragon Quest Builders is now available for PS4 and PS Vita. Players enter a world overrun by monsters, and they must do their part to set things right by gathering materials and crafting items that are needed to rebuild the realm of Alefgard. In addition to constructing new structures, players must also battle the forces of the Dragonlord.

Tales of Berseria launching January, PS4 Collector’s Edition revealed

Tales of Berseria is set to be released next January in North America, according to Namco Bandai. The PS4 version will debut first, on January 24, with the PC version following a few days later, January 27, on Steam. The upcoming entry follows Velvet, a “tortured soul who acts purely on instinct as she sets out on a quest for revenge.” A $149.99 Collector’s Edition was also announced for PS4. It will be limited to 10,000 and come bundled with several extras: a Velvet and Laphicet Chibi Kyun Chara figures, 8-bit retro keychain set, music CD with selected tracks, hardcover prequel novel (A Witch’s Tale: A World Full of Daemons), set of trading cards, starter strategy guide artbook, and themed SteelBook case.

Persona 5 to release with SteelBook Launch Edition

Persona 5 is less than half a year away, and Atlus is already getting primed for its North American release. Today the studio revealed the SteelBook Launch Edition. The themed pack will feature a portrait of the cast on the outside, and a second design featuring the Phantom Thieves on the inside. Prepare your shelves accordingly.

Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse in stores, on eShop for 3DS

Shin Megami returns today with a skewed take on the endgame of Shin Megami Tensei IV. Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse shifts things a bit, with the player going through the same world but as a new protagonist, Nanashi. The recently deceased, now-resurrected Hunter is the servant of the god Dagda, who plans to take advantage of the ongoing war between man, angel, and demon. Players must decide whether to do his bidding or cut their own path, choosing anarchy or peace, as they undertake quests, explore, and battle (as well as fuse) over 450 demon types.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 now on Steam Early Access for Windows PC

Less than a year after Divinity: Original Sin – Enhanced Edition’s release and Larian Studios has launched Divinity: Original Sin 2 on Steam Early Access. The Early Access version features the campaign’s first act, estimated to last eight to 12 hours, online co-op, four playable races (Dwarf, Elf, Human, and Lizard), eight skill and spell schools, four optional origin stories (co-written with Chris Avellone), and an arena for versus play. The sequel will gradually develop to expand on the original’s formula with four-person multiplayer, dedicated player-versus-player support, additional combat mechanics, and an expanded elemental system.

Digimon World: Next Order arriving for PS4 in early 2017

Digimon World: Next Order is coming stateside for PS4. Scheduled to launch early next year, digitally and physically**, players will find themselves in a Digital World under assault by Machinedramons. After being rescued by two Digimon, the newcomer, now male or female, must set out with their two heroes to repay the favor by uncovering the origins of the Machinedramons while also searching for a way home. Over 200 Digimon will be roaming about for players to recruit, train, and lead.

A god beckons in Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse launch trailer

Atlus has released the launch trailer for Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse. The video introduces players to Nanashi, the new, recently resurrected protagonist. Now beholden to the god Dagda, the player must choose whether to do his bidding or attempt to make their own way. For those new to the series, experience with Shin Megami Tensei IV isn’t necessary; however, as the two games overlap, having gone through the original will definitely help to flesh out ongoing events.
