Crate Entertainment’s action-RPG Grim Dawn has been updated on Steam Early Access to include the second act, Old Arkovia. The addition features an estimated 10-plus hours of gameplay, which includes a host of new material: 10 enemy types, 23 bosses, 35 character levels, 106 items, and a region. Players must choose carefully in how to proceed in Act II, as there is now a greater emphasis on consequences and innocent lives will be caught between their party and a new enemy, the Four Hills gang.

Etrian-flavored Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth headed stateside

The Persona series will be making its debut on the 3DS this fall with the release of Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth. The crossover title will feature characters from Persona 3 and 4 in an Etrian Odyssey-style adventure. In an alternate world, the gangs set out to investigate the legend surrounding the deadly bell chimes that eminate from Yasogami High’s clock tower. Both sets of characters play through their own storylines as each tries to find their way out of the now-enemy-filled labyrinth.



Wasteland 2 gets first major update, includes 2,000+ fixes, new areas

inXile has released the first major update for Wasteland 2. The patch, coming two months after the game made its debut on Steam Early Access, includes “over 2000 bug fixes, gameplay features, performance optimizations and balance improvements along with hours of new content.” An entire section has been added as well, a Prison level for those itching for a tough fight, plus several smaller maps. inXile estimates that the new areas push the gameplay past the 30-hour mark.

Tales of Symphonia Chronicles launching tomorrow, trailer released

Namco Bandai has released a new trailer for the release of Tales of Symphonia Chronicles. The PS3 set includes the GameCube entry Tales of Symphonia and its Wii follow-up, Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World. Chronicles adds the original Japanese voice-overs, new art during Mystic Artes attacks, and new costumes as well as a new casino area for Tales of Symphonia.

Divinity: Original Sin delayed, Larian now targeting spring 2014

Role-playing fans will need to wait a little longer to return to the lands of Rivellon. Larian Studios has announced that the Kickstarter-funded Divine Divinity prequel Divinity: Original Sin will be delayed until spring. The kinks of the latest entry’s many features, from the two-player co-op play to the game world’s numerous interactive objects, have been noted by those playing through the game’s early portion via Steam Early Access, and it’s their feedback that’s behind the delay. To be more precise, “the extra time will be used to implement feedback received from Steam Early Access players and Kickstarter backers” and that “Larian is taking the time necessary to make it right and polished.”

Meet the folk of Dragon Princess Inn in new Demon Gaze screens

NIS has released a new batch of character screens from their upcoming PS Vita dungeon crawler Demon Gaze. The new shots show several of Dragon Princess Inn’s regulars, including item shop proprietor Lezerem, stylist Kukure, manager Fran, basement dweller Prometh, and resident mercenary Lancelorna. As the explorer Oz, players will find themselves chatting up all of them up as they restock and kit themselves out after another trip into one of the world’s many dungeons.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance being livestreamed, heading to console

Action-adventure RPG Kingdom Come: Deliverance has been announced for PS4 and Xbox One. Developer Warhorse Studios has revealed that Microsoft and Sony have both approved the title for their respective systems, and to celebrate, the developers are currently livestreaming a gameplay session. The rewards have also been updated accordingly, with tiers featuring a digital copy being open to either platform, depending on backer preference, and boxed rewards now including console copies (with goodies). Beta access remains for Linux, Mac, and Windows only, but the release notes that console betas might be added later. The game’s current Kickstarter campaign has exceeded its original goal several times over.

South Park: The Stick of Truth goes goooooooold for consoles, PC

After surviving the closure of THQ, acquisition by Ubisoft, and all of the other myriad development bumps in the road, South Park: The Stick of Truth has officially gone gold. The Obsidian-developed role-playing game has been sent out for pressing and will be shipping to stores on March 4. As part of the gang, players will get to guide the budding heroes in their quest for the Stick of Truth, which will pit them against the town’s many monsters, from vengeful bullies and hippies to underpants gnomes (tip: they are easily distracted by profit).

Lightning sets out for a new journey today with the release of Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII for 360 and PS3. Her latest adventure, available in stores and digitally through Live and PSN, is a more action-oriented title than a traditional Final Fantasy release, with players having direct control over Lightning as she ventures about Nova Chrysalia with her band of allies battling the deadly cult Children of Etro.

Aurora to return home on April 30 with release of Child of Light

Ubisoft has revealed that their upcoming turn-based role-playing game Child of Light will be released on April 30. The downloadable title will be available on eShop for Wii U, Live for 360 and Xbox One, PSN for PS3 and PS4, and Steam for PC. The Framework-powered adventure is being labeled a “reimagining of fairytales” and will have players take on the role of Aurora as she journeys through the world of Lemuria. After being taken from her home, she sets out to make her way back but discovers that she must first free the moon, stars, and sun from the clutches of the Queen of the Night. She will face dragons and monsters along the way, but also find help in new allies, including the firefly Igniculus.
