Deep Silver has announced that Risen 3: Titan Lords Enhanced Edition will launch on August 21 for PS4. Coinciding with the news was the release of the first gameplay video for the new version. The direct-capture footage highlights the graphical upgrade the next-gen version is receiving, including higher resolution textures, new post-process effects, and a volumetric cloud system to enhance the day-night cycle.

Fairy Fencer F hitting Steam for Windows PC next Tuesday

The PlayStation 3 role-playing game Fairy Fencer F is making its way to PC next week. Scheduled to launch on August 4 via Steam, the PC version will feature a resolution bump up to 1080p and two free DLC packs, Beginner’s Pack and Secrets of Shukesoo’s Tower Pack. The story remains the same, however, as players take charge of Fang, a young man who saves the Fencer Tiara and ends up getting dragged into an ongoing war between the Goddess and the Vile God. GOG adds Anno 1602 A.D., Albion, and Archimedean Dynasty

Traitors abound in new tactical RPG for PS3, PS Vita, Lost Dimension

The End is near! (dun duuuun) The enigmatic final boss has made his to Earth in Atlus and Lancarse’s new tactical role-playing game Lost Dimension. Available for PS3 and PS Vita, the turn-based strategy game not only mixes in light role-playing elements via skill trees and varied gear, but it also has a slight twist: traitors. As players ascend a large pillar, they must choose which of their squad is a turncoat in order to progress. If they fail, then they will have to face the traitors before taking on The End, but if they succeed, they will immediately square off against him with a full squad. Experience won’t help, either, as traitors are random for each playthrough. As a bonus, $20 worth of free costume and level DLC is downloadable for free for two weeks.

Victor Vran leaves Early Access, now officially available for PC

Demon hunter Victor Vran has set off from Early Access to track down even fiercer monsters in the full release of, er, Victor Vran. The action-heavy role-playing game from Haemimont Games features a gear-based progression system, over 400 challenges, dynamic difficulty, a campaigned estimated to last 20 hours, and four-player online co-op. Players can also expect two-player local co-op and three DLC packs in the coming months. The free packs are currently in development and will add a new weapon type that expands spellcaster abilities (The Tome of Souls), a new character-build-expanding outfit (The Highlander Outfit), and a map with a random layout and daily challenges (The Cauldron of Chaos).

Fallout Anthology coming for PC, 5 games + DLC in mini-nuke case

Fallout 4 is slowly nearing its release date, but before it hits outlets, Bethesda is offering gamers a chance to catch up on the series this September with Fallout Anthology. Scheduled to launch on September 29 for PC, the $49.99 set will include five games: Fallout, Fallout 2, Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition, Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate Edition, and Fallout Tactics, plus all downloadable content. The box will not only have an empty space to add a copy of Fallout 4, but the package itself will be a mini-nuke storage case that makes a bomb sound. That’s a lot of hours in the waste.

Shiro Games will be releasing Evoland 2: A Slight Case of Spacetime Continuum Disorder, the follow-up to their era-spanning homage to role-playing games Evoland, on August 25. The download-only release will be available through Steam. As with the original, Evoland 2 will be heavily referential, with winks and nods to numerous classic and contemporary titles, and frequently switch gameplay as well as art styles. Eight new screenshots have also been released, showcasing the various play styles that will be on offer, from platforming to top-down shooting.
