Bandai Namco has detailed the first downloadable add-on for Dark Souls III, Ashes of Ariandel. The first of two expansions, Ashes of Ariandel will send players to the frozen realm of Ariandel to uncover the evil behind the land’s woes. The journey will feature new armor sets, enemies, magic, weapons, and (undetailed) multiplayer features. Events will also expand on the overarching storyline. A batch of screenshots, along with a trailer, were released to offer an early look at the new quest.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided now available for console, PC

After being away for a few years, Adam Jensen returns today to find a world on the brink of anarchy. Following the events in Human Revolution, augmented humans turned on their non-augmented counterparts, leading to an outburst of violence that has resulted in harsh laws designed by the latter in order to control the augmented. The cause remains a mystery to the public, and Jensen is determined to find the answers, using stealth, hacking, and gunplay, before the struggle erupts into chaos. Also included is Deus Ex: Mankind Divided – Breach, a first for the series, which has players take on the role of a hacker in a puzzle-shooter hybrid.

Dynamic RPG Zombasite launches in full for Linux, Mac, and Windows

Soldak’s latest open-world action role-playing game, Zombasite, is now available for PC. The full version has left early access and can be purchased for 25% off during launch week for Linux, Mac, and Windows. As the leader of a struggling group of survivors, players must navigate a dynamic land that is succumbing to the Zombasite parasite. They will have to make sure their clan is fed, protected, and happy. Clan members will also need to be heavily armed, in the event that negotiations with nearby factions devolve into open warfare. The game features eight main classes, hybrid classes, 24 specialties, co-op multiplayer, and numerous options to customize sessions.

New trailer released for survival open-world RPG Outward

Nine Dots has released the Pax West trailer for their upcoming open-world fantasy adventure Outward. The role-playing game is said to utilize elements from survival titles, such as the need for food and water, to impact the narrative. Players take charge of one of four factions and lead them across the lands of Aurai. The group will have to manage their resources and fight those that get in their way. The game will autosave frequently to ensure that players live with the outcomes of their decisions, and enemies will not scale to their level, which will make navigation difficult. Magic will take time to prepare, equipment will reduce mobility, and the environment will have an impact on gear. Players can also have a friend tag along locally or online in two-player co-op. Pax attendees can try the game out at Booth #7303.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 to enter Steam Early Access on September 15

Larian is prepping to release Divinity: Original Sin 2 on Early Access on September 15. The early version will include the beginning of the campaign as well as an online player-versus-player arena. As with the original, the game will be playable solo or online, but now with up to four players. The sequel will also feature new combat mechanics, along with a storyline that finds the player imprisoned in Fort Joy by the Magisters of the Divine Order.

Disgaea 2 PC launching January for OS X, Steam OS, Windows PC

NIS is set to expand their PC footprint next year with Disgaea 2 PC. The port is being described as the definitive version and will include content from both the PS2 version, Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories, and the later, expanded PSP version, Disgaea 2: Dark Hero Days. Additionally, three characters previously exclusive to the Japanese version of Cursed Memories will make their North American debut: Dark Eclair, Gig, and Miabel. And as a bonus for those who own Disgaea PC, four characters from the sequel—Adell, Rozalin, Zetta, and Pleinair—have been added today in a new patch.

Nier: Automata to launch simultaneously in 2017 for PC via Steam

Square Enix has announced that their upcoming action role-playing game Nier: Automata will be released for PC. The computer version is slated to launch on Steam alongside the PS4 version in early 2017. A batch of new screens were also released, and can be found down below. In Automata, players will follow the droids 2B, 9S, and A2 as they attempt to free future-Earth from alien ‘machine lifeforms’ that have forced mankind to the moon. 2B is a sword-wielding battle droid built for the infantry squad YoRHa, and the main character, but she is backed by a Pod support system offering options for long-range combat.

Atlus has released a new strategy trailer for Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse. The video showcases several tactics that players will utilize while in combat. Some of the elements highlighted in the video will be familiar to series veterans. As with its predecessor, Apocalypse will allow players to take the first turn during combat if they land an attack on enemies while exploring on the map. A further advantage can be attained by choosing the right attack type as enemies remain weak to one of the eight classes (elemental, melee, and gunfire). Fallout 4’s final add-on, Nuka-World, received its first gameplay trailer today. The footage offers an overview of the sixth expansion’s additions and setting, a dilapidated amusement park that doubles as a base for Raiders. The makeshift city has several themed areas, including Safari Adventure, Kiddie Kingdom, and Galactic Zone. Players can use the park as their own base to lead Raiders on missions to conquer surrounding settlements. Also featured are some of the new creatures, enemies, and weapons.
