Visual novel RPG A.W.: Phoenix Festa launches on PSN for PS Vita

A.W.: Phoenix Festa, a “simulation action” visual novel title, has gone live on PSN for PS Vita. Set in a world devastated by an apocalyptic event, the Invertia, six academies compete for prominence in the last remaining megacity, Asterisk. Players take on the role of a student, either Ayato or an original character, who must live out the days of a teenager while practicing for the upcoming competition. On their way to one of several endings, players will build relationships and train in combat. The game is based on the Japanese light novel The Asterisk War: The Academy City on the Water.

Fallout 4 received a new downloadable pack today, Vault-Tec Workshop. The $4.99 drop adds pre-war industrial kits that offer access to retro-styled art, furniture, and lighting. It also allows Overseers the chance to run Vault-Tech experiments on their Dwellers in order to create the perfect citizen. Members of Bethesda recently livestreamed a walkthrough of the expansion, and an archive of the nearly 42-minute-long stream has been posted below.

Idea Factory has released a new set of screens from their upcoming role-playing game Fairy Fencer F: Advent Dark Force. Set to release next week, the game presents players several storylines to follow, with one for the Vile God path and the other for the Evil Goddess. The path chosen is determined by how many swords are drawn from them, while a third storyline is unlocked by the Goddess. Players take on the role of Fang, a fencer on a mission to collect Furies, powerful weapons created by the gods, in the midst of an ongoing war between the factions.

World of Final Fantasy trailer released, three limited editions detailed

Players will be able to explore Grymoire in a variety of releases for World of Final Fantasy, including a Day One Edition, Limited Edition, and Collector’s Edition. The Day One Edition will include extra digital content, such as a Sephiroth summon and a Japanese voice-over option add-on, while the similarly priced Limited Edition will add special packaging along with a 24-page artbook. The Square Enix-store-exclusive Collector’s Edition is priced at $119.99 and adds even more goodies, including the soundtrack, a three-piece minifigurine set (Cloud, Lightning, and Squall), a pop-up book, and more. Dragon Quest Builders, Square Enix’s upcoming hybrid sandbox construction and role-playing game, will be launching as a Day One Edition. Pre-orders and first-run copies will come with several exclusive in-game recipes: Gold Block, Slimy Block, and Springtide Sprinkles. The North American cover art was also released along some new screenshots showing off the bonus goods.

Tokyo RPG Factory’s debut title, I am Setsuna, has launched digitally for PC and PS4. Inspired by Square Enix’s 16-bit catalog, the game follows Setsuna and her bodyguards—Endir, Kuon, and Yomi—as they set out from her hometown on a mission to save her people. In keeping with the studio’s focus on the past, the game utilizes a combat system inspired by the classic Chrono Trigger.

Sega has released imageepoch’s latest role-playing game, 7th Dragon III Code: VFD. Players take a squad of heroes through three different time periods to stop dragons from destroying ancient Atlantis, present-day Tokyo, and future Eden. For those wanting some hands-on time, a demo is available on eShop, complete with a host of starting items that carry over to the full version. The first of three DLC waves is also available, adding two new quests. The packs are free for the first week of release, but there’s a slight hiccup on eShop, as they’re currently listed as for-pay. Sega noted that they are currently addressing the problem.

Sega has released a new trailer as well as their DLC plans for 7th Dragon III Code: VFD. The upcoming role-playing game will be hitting online outlets and store shelves next week, but for today, players can see more of what’s in store with the new video, titled Full Trailer. A demo’s also up on eShop, for those wanting some hands-on time. The game follows a party of heroes as they hunt dragons throughout three different time periods: ancient Atlantis, present Tokyo, and future Eden. Also, all of the download packs will be free for the week following their release, which will add new quests, characters, and weapons. The release schedule can be found below.
