New Final Fantasy XV –Episode Duscae– screenshots released

Square Enix released two new batches of screenshots today from Final Fantasy XV and Type-0 HD. First up is FFXV, and more specifically, the upcoming downloadable demo, Final Fantasy XV –Episode Duscae–. Duscae, which will feature the opening section of FFXV but with altered story elements, will be accessible via a download voucher that will be included with Type-0 for both PS4 and Xbox One. The shots show some combat against goblins, a few of the character close-ups, and a herd of giant Garula. The release also noted that all pictures were taken from in-game footage.

Sega adds tri-Ace’s RPG Resonance of Fate to PSN for PS3

Sega has added their 2010 role-playing game Resonance of Fate to PSN for PS3. The tri-Ace-developed title follows three employees of a private military firm— Leanne, Vashyron, and Zephyr—in a time when humanity lives cloistered around the only machine capable of sustaining life on Earth. As the trio take on missions for clients, they begin to learn more about the powers who control the machine and their lives. Players will be able to customize their characters and weaponry by unlocking new costumes and parts, and fight in a semi-real-time combat system that focuses on firearms and flashy attacks.

Final Fantasy Type-0 HD dated for March, to include FFXV demo

Square Enix announced at the Tokyo Game Show that Final Fantasy Type-0 HD will be arriving on digital outlets and store shelves on March 17. The new adventure, set on the world of Orience, is said to offer “a gritty worldview and an action-packed battled system.” It was also revealed that access to a demo of Final Fantasy XV, titled Final Fantasy XV -Episode Duscae-, will be included. The demo, in the form of a download unlocked via voucher, will be unique in that it will include the same opening section as the final game but feature an alternative story progression. New trailers for both have been posted, and some new screens from Type-0 HD.

Persona Q-themed 3DS XL coming to North America

Those Persona fans who have held out from importing the Persona Q Edition of the 3DS XL are in luck: Atlus has announced a North American release. The $199.99 themed system will only be available at GameStop and sold only as hardware, meaning that there will be no bundle pack that includes the game. The Persona Q 3DS XL will be available in limited quantities but will be up prior to release for pre-order, though no date was given on when it’ll go live for pre-order.

Final Mix trailer highlights Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix additions

A new trailer has launched for Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix. Titled the Final Mix, the video runs nearly three minutes and covers the additions and extras that will be included with the re-release, namely the new bosses and enemies, cutscenes, playable episodes, challenges, and some of the 40-plus additional items. It’s a bit of everything, and with some gameplay to boot.

Grab some friends and swords, Dragon Age: Inquisition gets co-op

A new co-op dungeon-crawler multiplayer mode has been announced for Dragon Age: Inquisition. Up to four players will be able to work with one another to complete special cooperative quests that are separate from the storyline. While in the dungeons, players will be able to salvage items, craft new armor and weapons, gather loot, and unlock up to 12 characters. Each of the characters will be from one of three classes: Mage, Rogue, and Warrior. PAX attendees will get a chance to try the multiplayer first hand at the Xbox Booths in North Hall, Booths 412, 422, and 432 on the fourth floor, from August 29 to September 1.

Crown of the Old Iron King, the second part in Dark Soul II’s The Lost Crowns downloadable three-part mini-campaign, is now available. The add-on is available for 360, PC, and PS3, supplementing the original game with new enemies, bosses, gear, and locations. Unlike its grim subterranean predecessor, Crown of the Sunken King, Crown of the Old King takes place in the same type of lave-filled and ash-strewn environment as the foreboding Iron Keep from the original game. The latest batch includes over a dozen shots of combat, with an emphasis on the special Fairize merging technique.
